I'm in.. I think?

First timer here. May enter Compo.. or Jam, depending on how much time I'll find and if I have any ideas for the theme :-).

Will be developing in html5/JS.

somethin' Duck

Hey everyone, I want to thank you all for playing my game, rating and leaving feedback! It is truly appreciated :-)

In the game you play as a mother duck that attempts to raise little ducklings while dodging nasty crocodiles and snakes! img

I've had some time to improve and add some of your suggestions to the game and uploaded a "post-compo" version. Changes: - Added Snakes as additional Enemies! - You now have to pick up toast slices to grow your ducklings! - You can now knock out crocodiles by hitting the back of their head! - Crocodiles now slightly turn towards you to make it a little harder. - Spawn Rate of Crocodiles increased. - Multiple wild ducks depending on how many ducklings you have! - Added option to display hitboxes. Use this to see how close you can get to the enemies! - Added some background waves - Made player trail a little nice looking. - Added blood splatter

I'm in!

If I have a good idea and can keep myself focused in this weekends heatwave that is ;-)

Would be the third compo for me.

Good luck and have fun everybody!

Progress

Created some sprites for now. Think I have an idea for something like a tetris shooter :-)

Off to sleep now, going to program the actual game tomorrow.

Just in time

Not really, Had to push a few fixes a couple of minutes late :P

Anyways... I present:

Tetrisnator

Tetris meets Shooter/Survival

In the game you run and jump around in a Tetris game. You have to shoot the falling blocks, gain money and upgrade your weapons.

You can play it here

Quite happy how it turned out, even though I didn't have time to add music or any sound and there are quite a couple of bugs. I definitely planned to do too much, I don't think I've ever written this unclean code before :-)

Going to play a few games now and then off to bed.

Good luck to everyone still working in the Jam! ;-)

Thanks for playing & rating!

Really excited about the results! Top 50 Overall and 25th Place in the fun category. By far the best results I've ever gotten in a LD Compo.

It's also the first time I didn't feel much time pressure. Probably because I chose a really simple concept and stuck to it. Spent the first day building the main mechanics and the second creating the graphics and music/sound. This also allowed me to create the 15 levels and clean up remaining bugs "in-between", spread over the second day.

In previous jams I always tried to add more features until the last second which often enough produced last minute bugs that made it into the final version. I guess I've at least improved in scope- and time-management 😀

Thanks to everyone that played, rated and commented on my game!

Ludum Dare 51

Viam in tenebris - Created in ~27hours - It took me really long to start

Joined in quite late because I couldn't come up with an idea.

Quite happy that I did find something yesterday night and proceeded to implement the main mechanics yesterday in around 4 hours.

Today was building the levels, menu, graphics and sound. As always, there's a thousand more things I would have liked to do but overall I'm quite pleased with the result.

In Viam in tenebris you have to navigate mazes in the dark. Every ten seconds a lightning bolt will illuminate the entire maze, so you can quickly memorize the correct path. But hurry up, the next time lightning strikes the maze will look different..

Ludum Dare 55

I made it! In only 10 hours!

Wasn't really planning on joining this time as the theme left me quite clueless.

But around 5.30pm today I had an idea and have been building almost straight for the last 10 hours. Would have loved to have some more time to work on the visuals but still quite content with how it turned out, given the short time frame. Good luck to to everyone still building, I'm looking forward to try out all your games tomorrow! Now sleep!
