This will be my first Ludum Dare, and I for one am glad that the theme is Minimalism. No, not exactly thought-stimulating. But it does give a legitimate excuse for those of us with no artistic talent. So…look to other things for inspiration. Maybe potatoes. And then make that game, only minimalistic.

Hello, LD community! I am AstroEngiSci, and I am here to inform you all about my first game. Like, ever. I have never completed a game until now.
My game is titled Cross, and is a game about crossing gaps and getting to the end. It was inspired by the KISS principle in engineering: Keep It Simple, Stupid! Crossing a gap is a pretty simple goal.
So, go check it out and rate it! You will like it. Or hate it. Or neither. Or both at the same time. I like to consider all the possibilities. I’ll stop rambling now.

So, looks like I’m in…sort of. I’m working with a friend for the Jam competition, but due to circumstances completely beyond our control we can’t work the entire time. So there is no guarantee we’ll actually finish it within the time limit, but it will get started and eventually finished.

Yeah…this’ll be my second Ludum Dare. However, thanks to my friend, this game will have something I could never give it: good art and good ideas!

I’ve competed in one other Ludum Dare (26). I tried to enter another Ludum Dare, but I had to travel and Unity experienced a horrific crash bug on the last day of the compo, so I wasn’t able to finish.
I’ll be using Unity again, and probably making a 2D game. See, my 2D art skills are lacking–thus, imagine how horrible I must be at 3D art. Best to minimize the bad.
For art I’ll probably use Inkscape or Paint.NET or something depending on what kind of aesthetic I want.
For music I will probably use Famitracker or Sunvox–again, depending what kind of aesthetic I decide I want.
I am making a dungeon crawler game about finding artifacts and stuff. I’ve got some more ideas I’d like to implement, but that’s all I can say for sure right now.

Yeah…this is placeholder art. For example, the player and enemies currently have the same icon. Sliiightly confusing. I’ll make it clearer at least, but don’t count on the art looking a great deal better.
It’s technically playable! Just not…very fun. Also there are lots of bugs.
