I’m (probably) in

Hi!

I’m in (for now). I may Jam instead, as I have a train journey on that weekend, the start of which will mean I’ll have 9 hours to go on the compo section.

Pending Wi-Fi and power access hitches on the train could also stop me from completing the game.

I’m gonna be running things in Java Graphics2D, as that’s what I know best. Irrespective on if I’m jamming or not, full source will be available for people to (attempt to) compile and build on my github (which I’ll post up about when I’m ready. I may want testers :P).

Regards,

I’m in (after Uni resits)

I have exams in the week before and on Friday morning GMT, but I’m sure I can put something together for LD.

Language: Javascript/HTML/CSS using the CreateJS suite with AppJS and the Windows 8 JS libraries. Yes, that’s right, this weekend will have me produce a Windows 8 Modern UI application game in JS alongside an AppJS and web based version using the same code base. Live commits on github will be testable builds for App.js, whilst the repo will be mirrored with Dropbox for the web based version.

IDE: VS 2012 RC

Image Editor: The GIMP (what else?)

Sounds: Not sure, probably SFXR, replacing sounds with higher quality assets for post LD release.

Will try warming up over weekend, but got revision to do.

Minecraft Adventure

Thinking about Zombie Horror as the sub theme for this, (no build yet, been asleep, just thinking of ideas).

Also, I think I’ve found a nice title for the map: The Tale of the Village. Now I just need to finish up on packing, catch a train finish a trigger mechanism design for the command blocks, and I should be able to start building. For story elements, I’m using command blocks to post messages to chat, based on location of the player. Story progression is also going to be instanced using teleportation, which is more work, but worth it for the experience and immersion.

Anyway, I’m about to catch a train…

Minecraft Adventure – Story’s kinda complete, but some concerns

So, I know what’s going to happen, and written some basic conversations, but I’m having issues with how to instance my environment for decisions. May have to build a machine with RAM modules to save decision state between instances (or the passing of time, so conversations don’t execute more than once.

Else I think things are going smoothly, I have 2 and a half days (with Monday as a bank Holiday in the UK). Would ideally want Monday for polishing, but I should make it successfully for the Jam deadline.

Next Job, building! May use WorldEdit to make literal copies of each instance to save time/avoid Slimes on a superflat world.

Things aren’t going well….

A Minecraft adventure (whilst cool) also seems to be out of the scope of what I want to achieve in the time. because I want to submit something, I’m going with a backup idea for the Jam.

This’ll be written in Java with AWT. Time to sprite.

16 hours to go for compo

I think I may be able to make it, which would be great, because then I have Bank Holiday Monday free.

Today’s job is collision detection and final mechanics until Lunch, introducing more complex enemy types (fish, to keep the mechanics consistent), a menu, and then some making things more pretty/more solid before the compo is up.

First things, first, however, is breakfast and a shower.

I’m in! (Pending exams aren’t stupid)

Language: Java/Scala or C#

Tooling: Eclipse or Visual Studio/MonoDevelop

Libraries: LibGDX or Monogame

Sounds: Not sure, probably BFXR and (potentially) some music if I get around to it.

This is tentative, as this is slap-bang in the middle of my finals, but I should be able to make it.

I’m In

I have an idea, so I’m in for the Jam, using LibGDX 1.0 for my tooling. Not sure how much time I’ll have over the weekend.

The idea I have is based around the mythology of Icarus’s desire to get to the surface of The Sun.

No screens of art for a little while, want to get the mechanics right first. That and the fact I’ve lost the pen to my Wacom tablet, so drawing stuff can be a bit tedious.
