First time everything

This weekend I will hopefully finish my first game. I’ve been stuck doing back-end C# web development for too long. I’ve never been so excited to get up at 4AM.

I have no idea what I’m doing (gamedev wise) but seeing all the amazing, creative stuff you guys are doing really motivates me.

for future reference there should be a button on your keyboard that says Prt Scr above backspace or somewhere around there to screen shot. That is if your keyboard has one

I’m in!

Will be my second time. This time I’m going in solo and with a lot more experience.

Why? I want to show that I can handle pressure and tackle a project on my own. Also hoping to become a game developer and move on from web development.

I have a basic idea/genre of what I want to do but it will be 2D but open-minded about the possibility of 3D. My setup is as follows:

OS: Arch Linux (KDE)

IDE/Text editor: Vim

Programming: Unity3D v5.3 | HTML5 & SVG1.1 & CSS3 & JS & GSAP

Graphics: GIMP & Piskel

Sound: BFXR

Target Platforms: Linux & Windows | Web

Social/Self-promotion: @autovelop on Twitter | Autovelop on Facebook | Website

Good luck everyone and HAVE FUN!

First update and great progress!

Did most of the game mechanics, the menu, and about four levels. Going quicker than I expected. Some screenshots of my progress.

Next update I might show a video…

Second Update and Concept

Shape Shifters

Concept:

So I kinda cheated the theme a bit by making my game about shape shifters instead of shapeshifters. Its about “sticky” beings that you launch around in order to shift large shapes into a certain position.

Update:

Here I finally finished my parallax menu.

Look after yourselves!

Fellow Gamedevs,

Woke up this morning with jaw pains due to stress and tension during sleep. Decided to get and have a 5km run. At the moment, I am exhausted but my mind is clear and my body is ready to shut down for my brain to go to 200% efficiency. I just want to say: TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES

And remember: “Trees cover up a multitude of bugs” @BobRossGameDev

Fixed a few bugs and now MUCH easier to play/install

Shape Shifters

WebGL version or downloadable “.zip” files for Windows, Linux, and Mac!

Shape Shifters is a game where you launch “shifters” in order to shift the weight of big shapes. Levels are completed when a shape touches the surface. The last level has a shape that have buttons attached. Once there are no buttons left on the shape to push (once it touches the surface) and the shape itself touches the surface, the level is completed. Have fun!

Future plans: Many more levels!
