The feed is moving quickly at this late stage so it's easy to miss - but if you're interested in learning how we progressed through the making of For Ducks' Sake, there's now a 2500 word post mortem up on my personal blog at: https://garystanton.co.uk/ludum-dare-46-in-the-bag/
Remember, there's still a few hours left to check out the game and give us a rating. We're broke 300 yesterday and couldn't be more happy about it! Thanks to everyone who's played and rated so far. We really appreciate the feedback and general good vibes.

A cute little retro 8 way endless shooter.

This is my first jam so I'm still getting used to the rules. Why do some people in the comments say they accidentally rated on the original version? Why would you rate the post LD version?

Thank you to all the community for being nice for you’re my hero! The time you put into Making the game and submitting was so fun and enjoyable, not to mention Ups and down, took much of the strain off me this year. I learned that, when I have someone to help me, the Whole jam is not only manageable but fun. If I hadn’t Joined a team, I might have ended up canceling it altogether and missing the chance to enjoy with everyone.
I loved the whole experience it was just awesome!!!

HAPPY RESULTS DAY, EVERYONE! :tada:
As the curtain closes on yet another Ludum Dare, the Keyboard Cowboys have been reflecting on our experience. This particular jam was a special one for us, because it is likely to be our last jam as a team for quite some time. :frowning2:
A lot of us will be busying ourselves with life over the next few years, and it's currently unknown when we'll all be free to get up to our usual shenanigans again.
To commemorate the end of an era, we've put together another time lapse documenting our descent into game jam madness many weekends ago:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYeV33Y181U
If you're curious to see the fruits of the labor depicted above, you can play our game Wayward here! We are super duper proud of what we managed to make this time around, and we're so happy to see people connect with it in so many heartwarming ways.
This Ludum Dare has been a fantastic experience, and we played some absolutely stellar games this time around! Regardless of the results, y'all should be super proud of what you've been able to accomplish.
We'll see you all on the other side.
'Til next time! :pointright: :cowboy: :pointright:
Hey, guys! This Ludum Dare wasn't easy for us, but we did it. Thanks to everyone who played and rated our game! We really appreciate it, as always. 9 hours before grading, good luck to everyone!

Hey everyone! This has been our first ever game jam and we have really enjoyed playing everyone's games. Fortunately I won this on April 26th!

I hope this never happens again...
even if the game is published now, play the game and comment what you think!

This is my third Ludum Dare, and first where I'm satisfied enough with game that I'm even remotely interested in getting a rating  I'm 3-4 ratings short of the 20, and time is running out - if anyone feel like they'd have a few minutes to spare I'd sincerely appreciate any help getting over 20. I've been playing and rating games, but missed that only feedback matters for smart rating now, and managed to shoot myself in the foot here. My game, Keep The Vibe Alive, is just a small handful of ratings away from the threshold that it needs. The game is built for SteamVR so it’s a little bit difficult to find an audience for it. If anyone is capable of giving it a go and rating it, I’d really appreciate it!

We really enjoyed participating in this Ludum Dare! 😁 I definataly needed a win in these strange times and finishing a project like this was very rewarding. I very much enjoyed playing all the games I did, there was lots of fun and interesting ideas.
Hopefully we will be back for another Jam 😃🍆

It was our first LD jam, and we had a blast. We managed to get an incredible amount of feedback, and plan on polishing the game and adding content in the next couple months - I even already started to work on the art again. If you're interested in following our adventure, you can keep the itch.io page handy : https://jmad.itch.io/consequences-of-gardening - and if you haven't played yet, now's the time, we would love to reach 80 ratings, and we're only missing a couple.
Congratulations to every single participant, there were some very impressive entries, and it was a pleasure to try as many games as possible.
Remember : don't follow strangers back to their place, you never know if they reaaaally like plants.
Cheers, see you next time!

A puzzle game / walking simulator set in the apocalypse.
When the world goes to hell and the zombie apocalypse rages on, there are rumors that there’s a band of survivors deep within Russia, with food, water, and supplies.
Your only hope of getting there is in the form of a train;
and you must keep that train working.
You must keep that train alive.
My Thoughts
I have a soft spot for zombie games, but this one is fantastic. The visuals are consistent and nice and the overall concept is achieved to a very high standard. The puzzles are really fun and well thought out, they hit that perfect level of difficulty where you have to think but aren't stuck forever. It deserves all the ratings it's had.

Hello there, wonderful people.
Just a friendly yet important reminder that's it's only 5 hours before the end, and there are still an awful lot of submissions in the danger zone, meaning games that are close to but have not yet achieved the 20 ratings required. So please, if you don't have anything to do, be a pal and go rescue their creations to prevent them from the terrible disappointment of not even getting to have a score in the end.
Cheers, and best of luck to y'all for the last hours !

It was, once again, a really good learning experience for me. Of course I'm looking forward to the votes, but since I'm pretty much happy what I've made, I'm even more looking forward to the next LD in October! Hopefully in a different world situation, but hopefully with as many people as this one!
Hope you guys had lots of fun, that you learn something new and that you played lots of cool games!
See you next LD! Cheers!
Check it out if you're rating games in the last few hours of the competition. I'll be going around trying to rate games in the danger zone!

Hey everyone! How's your Post-Ludum Dare been going? We decided since this was our first game project we got somewhat off the ground to continue iterating upon it and add some features many of which were suggested by people from this community!
Cacophony is a roguelike dungeon crawler and you can find it here
Are you ready to challenge the Skeleton King?

The first boss fight is something I really wanted to get done in the Ludum Dare period of the game but unfortunately did not have enough time to do so.
But now he has been added and he has some challenging mechanics as well as our first dive into making a small “cinematic” for revealing him. This part of the update was a ton of fun to work on.
Scaling DifficultyPreviously, you could delve into the depths of our dungeon with little to no increase in challenge. In fact, the game would seemingly get easier as you would be acquiring gear while the monsters power level remained static.
This has now changed.
We have made it so that as you go deeper into our infinite dungeon the monsters will become more powerful until eventually you succumb to death. This mechanic will be the subject of ongoing iteration and balancing for the rest of Cacophony’s development.
Mini-map
We have also added a mini-map feature to the game! This is pretty self explanatory. The mini-map will be revealed as you explore it and marks points of interest you have discovered as well as your current location.
In the future we plan to make the map expandable for a more detailed view and we will continue to upgrade the visual design of it.
In this screenshot you can also see we’ve added an indicator for what floor you’re currently on! Let us know how far into the dungeon you can get! The current record is floor 63, though this was before the scaling difficulty.
We’ve now added rotation animations to every sprite in our game. This should help to make the game feel more alive and visually polished. You can also see when a character takes damage they flash red for a brief moment to indicate this is happening.
Animations and feedback are another sections of the game where we will be continuously working to improve the look and feel of Cacophony.
Selling / Removing Items
You can now sell items at shops or destroy items from your inventory. When selling items you will receive 50% of the items purchase price as gold.
Future iteration for this feature will include better visual design, as well as confirmation messages so you don’t accidentally sell anything you planned on keeping.
Our Own Item SpritesWe’ve added our own unique item sprites now as well. Previously the Item sprites were one of the few assets that we did not create ourselves and now we have removed everything that was not made by us with the exception of the gold coin icon.
• Lots of path-finding bug fixes included. Enemies can now round corners, and will get stuck less often
• Enemies will no longer attempt to occupy the same tile as another enemy
• Map changing now works better and more smoothly, including transitions from randomly generated maps to hand-drawn maps.
• Fixed Armor/Weapons not applying stats properly in some cases
• Shops now refresh their stock every time a new map is generated
That’s about what we have been working on the past two weeks! It feels like a lot has been added or generally made better for Cacophony during this time and we’re still having a ton of fun working on this project. Up next we will decide what direction to take v.03 and where Cacophony will go in the future!
Thank you for playing Cacophony and for reading this. A lot of these changes were inspired by feedback given to use here on the Ludum Dare site so thank you to everyone who took the time to contribute and play our game.

The face is a mixture of coastal rocks + the shadowed part of the rock texture + rust. When stretched, it creates a natural "bio-weapon" look.

I spent the last two weeks polishing my game. This is a small timed puzzle game you can finish in 2-3 minutes. Find the correct pump to reanimate the robot by seeing which wire connects to the robot, then activate it. Pump the wrong pump and the robot explodes.
I tried to find a way to make it more interesting so I added more levels, some narration between the levels and improved the overall experience by adding more feedbacks and improving the graphics. Each piece of narration depends on what you did during the level so it reacts a bit on how the player plays.
I hope you'll have some fun if you try it. Thanks to all people who played the game.

Also, this is a list of all the updates I made during the last weeks thanks to all the great feedbacks I got: - More levels - Controls are improved : before you moved the camera with arrow now you just have to move the mouse, it's clearer. - Better feedbacks (Highlight on the pump, emissive material on wires to materialize the energy flow) - Better and clearer instructions - I added some UI elements (Main menu, Pause menu) - I programmed a text system that can be customized to emphasize certain part of text - Graphics improvement (Particles added, I redid some modeling and improved the lighting). - I added some sounds.
Special thanks to Twan Mull who joined me at the beginning of this jam to try and discuss some game mechanics before I went on my own for the rest of the event.

Also if you like kinda high concept difficult games that are supposed to express a message (and have horrible horrible art) then you should play/give feedback on my game:
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/keep-hope-alive-4

How about a stroll around the (atlantic) neighbourhood, past beautiful coral reefs and creepy underwater plants? Weird twist included.
I will play and rate games in return, as to me this is common courtesy <3
Also, because last minute: who still struggles to get 20 votes? :3

The day of LD46 results is here!
I'll be playing games that are in the danger zone (just under 20 votes) that are accessible via web browsers in the few hours leading up to the results.
There is no queue, no submission, though if you are on 17-19 votes and have a web build - feel free to let me know in chat :)
I'll be live at 18:00 GMT / 19:00 UK / 14:00 EST. You can find me on twitch on the link below:

This game jam was absolutely incredible! I decided to make a game on my own for the very first time and what an adventure it was! It felt so freaking amazing to develop it, you know? That is why I decided to take developing to the next level and make a fully fledged game. Who's ready for it?
Last time to play Last Beer ! :D

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/last-beer

No time to explain, creatures of the night are coming! This fire is our last hope for survival, protect it at all cost! Build the line of defense first. Here, have your tools, some sticks, a few stones… Well, that’s not really a lot of stuff, but… but maybe you can find a use for it! My time is up, so good luck and try to not get us all killed!
Pay&Rate it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/fordhill
Hey guys, i want to share my game The Land I Live On (game page) with you all; It's a TPS game with 32-bits inspired graphics (low-poly + pixel-art). You play as an Onion Gardner watering plants and keeping the garden flowers alive (note: that this garden is on the back of a flying turtle because of game logics xD).
My teams always use the LD to experiment techs, visuals, concepts and other stuff that we are eager to know more about it. We would have liked to polish the gameplay more, but there would be less time to test and experiment with the art style.
There's an HTML5 build on our itch.io page (linked on our LD page). If you manage to play our game, leave a comment with a "@" at the end so i can know that you came from this post. I will definitely play your game too! :)

You are a boy living in a village that is surrounded by nature. There is one mighy old pink tree whose energy is so strong that it powers up your village. One day, the tree was found with its leaves falling down to the ground. It started to decay. You have to keep it alive but suck the life out of the nature you spent your life in, can you make the sacrifice?

Play here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/decayed

This Ludum dare has been really fun for me, I took a few risks when making my game by adding features/mechanics i had not done before. One of which was an online leaderboard!
I wrote a little tutorial on how i implemented it into Unity, take a look at it here:
https://blog.generistgames.com/creating-a-simple-unity-online-leaderboard/

You can also try out my game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/symbio-tech
It's been really fun playing and rating everyone's games, I hope everyone gets the results they want! All the best!
I would love some last minute feedback on my game! If we can get to 40 ratings that would be SUPER appreciated! Thank you so much in advance! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/irving-forrest-technologies-and-redacted

Just Need 1 More Points...

I just had a look at the games I rated. These games still require more ratings. May you want to give them a hand in the last hour. Or you could use the Danger filter to rescue more games.
