LD35 April 15–18, 2016

1st time Darer here!

Hello everyone! This is gonna be my first Ludum Dare and second Game Jam! My previous one was this year Global Game Jam.

I have been training in unity for three months and have released some practice games in the meantime, so I’m exited to give this a go! I will be participating with two friends. One of them is the artist and will take all sprite work and the other one is just getting started with Unity so he’s gonna assist me in some unity tasks. I’ll handle the coding and most of the Unity tasks, so whish me luck!

Right now we don’t have a musician so I would like to know if there’s an easy to use software to do some basic tracks. If you happen to know a good one, please share!

Thanks and have an excellent Ludum Dare!

Hi!

Good luck! And have fun :)

I’m (probably) in.

I’m probably going to be participating this weekend!

Tools:

C++, libpng, glew, glfw, SFML for audio, Visual Studio

Maybe some lua for scripting

Paint.NET for art

Audacity for sound/music maybe? Not my strong suit.

Woop! I’m back!

Mandatory “I’m in!” post! Yay! As always, I’ll be doing solo compo with the following tools of trade:

  • LibGDX + Android Studio for coding
  • Psycle + Audacity for audio
  • GIMP + Blender + Inkscape for graphics

Many, many interesting themes in the final voting round. Let’s see what this weekends brings. :)

I’ll be using LibGDX, Gimp and Inkscape too; great choices.

I’m in! #14

Once again I’m excited to be part of this fantastic event!
Most likely a solo 48h compo for me, but I will host at least one friend who will participate as well.
I will either be using the Haxe language and build everything from scratch, or Unity.
Can’t wait for it to start, good luck to you all!

The Lion and the Fox are doing it together

We’re in! We’ll see about all the details, and we’ll make a shared account to do it. But let’s rock! 😀

I’m in #8… If I can stop playing Dark Souls 3

I have not been doing much GameDev this year, but it’s time to get back on that horse. This will be my 8th Ludum Dare (5th solo).

The tools I shall use:

Planning (WHUT?!): Trello.com
Game Engine/Text Editor: Playcanvas.com
Art: Qubicle
Sound: SFXR/Audacity
Music: INudge/GarageBand
Animation: No.

I am terrible at Animation anyway, and now I am having issues getting models from Qubicle -> Blender, so I shall just design to avoid Animation this time.

alpixel

AlPixel Games is in! This is the first time the whole team will be jamming together on a Ludum Dare, yay! 😀

We had already planned a trip for the weekend, so we’ll only have about a day to make a game, but you don’t skip Ludum Dare, NEVER!

So let’s do this! Create wonderful stuff and have fun, lots of fun! That’s why we jam :-)

We’ll probably show some gifs over our twitter account, see you around and good luck!

@AlPixelGames

I’m In (for the first time)

I will make a game for the Compo (if I fail to finish in time I will continue into the Jam)

Here’s what I will use:

programming: löve2d

graphics: gimp

sound: sfxr and Ignite

Have fun, everyone! ( • ͜ʖ • )/ <3

DUDES DUDES DUDES

LUDUM DARE IS SOON! OH MA GODDD! IT IS TO BE!

whaa

LALALALALAL

HEHE

YEEEEE

DUUUUUDES!

First Ludum Dare, here I come! – I’m in!

This will be my first Ludum Dare, and I’m extremely excited to see what I can make out of it.

It’s going to be very challenging as I can’t get any time off work, and I’ll be going solo, but challenge is what this is all about for me! Also, because of this restriction, I’ll be entering the 72 hour game jam.

Tools I’ll be using:

  • Editor/Programming Language: Unity/C#
  • Visuals: Photoshop, and maybe Blender if I go with 3D (probably not though)
  • Audio: I’m going to try out Bfxr, but I will most likely end up splicing 3rd party free sounds into my own assets with Audacity

Target Release: Most likely Windows and Browser, but possibly Android if my ideas fit mobile better.

My goal at the end of this is simply to have a completed game. As casual as it may end up being, as long as it is complete, I’ll be happy!

Good luck everyone!

We’re in!

Aaand, we’re in!

Team of three so far (possibly 4), getting ready for our first Ludum Dare. We’re all super excited about this and ready to get high on caffeine! We’ll be using Unity 5.3.4, Visual Studio Community 2015, Adobe Photoshop and most likely Audacity for audio. And whiteboards, paper and sticky notes of course.

Can’t wait for the starting gun!

I AM IN!

I am in and my weapons of choice are :

Framework / Toolchain – OpenFL

Code – Sublime Text

Graphics – Piskel / Paint.net / Krita

Sound – BFXR / LMMS / Some other music generator

Good luck every one 😀

We’re in!

Team of two so far, maybe 3. This will be our first Ludum Dare, and  We’re all very excited about it!

We’ll use Unity, and  C# for programming, Adobe Photoshop for art, most likely Audacity for audio and probably some Git server.

Good luck to everyone!

Soon time for another 48 hours of barely contained, caffeine-laced, panic!

So, I’ve started lining everything of mine up for the coming Ludum Dare this weekend, sadly I mistimed some other things so I haven’t actually had time to do my usual shtick and write up a simple C++ framework. Instead I’ve spent some time cleaning and polishing away a few pieces from another game project I’ve been working on, to end up back at a possible framework for use here.

Hopefully I’ll even have time to finish and test the multiplayer components of the framework, so I can try doing simple multiplayer as well.

The Tools I’ll be using – like always – are;

  • Programming/development
    • Visual Studio 2015 on Windows.
    • GCC 4.6 / 5.0 and LLVM/Clang 3.4 on Linux.
    • Git – you’ll be able to follow the project on GitHub.
    • SFML – going to use their as-of-yet unreleased Git version, really want access to a few of the features in there.
    • Angelscript – I just love this script language.
  • Arts and such
    • GIMP.
    • LMMS.
  • Stream-related
    • OBS-Studio.
    • foobar2000 – I’ve dug through and built a list of songs that Twitch should like too.
    • My own stream overlay software, which lacks too much UI/UX for me to consider releasing yet.
    • My own timelapse capturing software (made in C#, source is available).

I hope the rest of you are going to have fun, because I’m certainly planning to.

And hopefully games will happen too.

I’m in

Hi folks, I’m in, again.

Will be my second LD. This year, I will try to have something better than bunnies making bunnies.. =)
I plan to use:

Unity
Pyxel
BFRX
Abundant-Music

Cya

I’m in!

This’ll be my first LD, and my first original game.

Not expecting the game to be great, but I think this will be fun regardless, and more importatly, educational!

I’ll be using Löve 2d, with some of the great libraries that exist for it.

If I get around to making any music or soundeffects, I’ll see if I can get something good with SunVox.

Art will either be programming art, free-content, or possibly artist made, depending on the theme and if I can get a hold of an artist =P.

I think I’m posting this where I’m supposed to…
