LD26 April 26–29, 2013

Hi

I’m hoping to enter this weekend. I will probably not drink coffee and stay up all night. Jam FTW :3

Anyway, I’m already juggling around some ideas. If it’s one of those themes that may result in an ‘art game’, I might make an illustrated text adventure.

If it’s Potato, well, I have a million ideas. I won’t tell you any of them, even if most of them are obvious.

Theme voting is fun 😀

So, if I do enter, play my game (web based, definitely), if not, I look forward to playing all your games.

MY SETUP VIDEO!?!??

watch it please!

32 FREAKING GIGABYTES OF RAM?! :O

Help I’M stuck IN JAM and can’t get out

I’m joining the ludum dare jam this time, contrary to my previous two entries. Which were in the 48 hour challenge. I’ll be participating with my friend Porthog. We will be using:

IDE: Eclipse, Sublimetext2
Language: C++
Libraries: Sfml 2.0, Box2d
Sound: Audacity, sfxr, (some random music gen)
Graphics: mspaint, gimp

Food: pizza, soda.

We are looking to make our game multi player this year, but I guess that depends, there are a lot of “alone” like themes this year.

I am all kinds of In

You had it coming you over-indulgent pixel bastard.

Had a fun time with the warm up. Probably spent a lot more time on it than I should have, considering that, true to form, I didn’t really “finish” it. In any case, got some experience using Game Maker Studio, which is good, considering I plan to use it this weekend. Among other things:

  • Game Maker Studio – All that funky stuff it does
  • ASEPRITE – Sprite editing
  • SFXR/Audacity – Sound generation / manipulation (assuming I get this far)
  • LMMS – Music (likewise)

Depending on the theme and probably just how I’m feeling at the time, I may be teaming up with NeonLare and doing this Jam style. He has a better track record for actually getting things finished, and he pretty much rocks at everything I suck at, so that works well. I don’t know what all this potato business is about, but believe it or not, of the food items from my warm up game is a baked potato.

Good luck everybody, lot of good themes out there…. don’t disappoint!

Count me in this thing.

Count me in. Well, maybe. I still have to see what I’m doing this weekend, and whether I feel up to it.

Anyway, hello! My name is Andrew G. Crowell (Overkill in some places, @Bananattack on Twitter). I want to try and use my game engine, Plum, to make a 2D desktop game of some variety for Ludum Dare. It is intended for people to write games in Lua. There is a C++ engine doing the heavy lifting, but it tries to expose as much high-level control as possible. Additionally, the engine backend is entirely comprised of permissively licensed, cross-platform open-source C++ components, making it ideal for game dev in theory — it’s a work in progress, but it has a 2D hardware-accelerated graphics, audio, input, timing, the stuff you need. I have only built a Windows version so far, but the platform stuff is built atop cross-platform libraries and otherwise mostly-platform-independent code. So it should be portable without too many gripes in the future when it looks stable enough. Documentation is also forthcoming.

I guess when the theme comes out and the weekend gets closer, I will have a better idea of what’s going on.

Engine: Plum – http://github.com/Bananattack/Plum
Graphics: Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop or Graphics Gale
Sounds: sfxr/bfxr/sndrec32
Music: Modplug/Sound Club/sndrec32 — uhhh I don’t really know (I suck at music composition)
Timelapse: Chronolapse

Totes in this time, Bro

I’m in again. Last time I participated (LD24) it was all KINDS of awesome. Will be working with bowlercaptain again, and using GM8/GM Studio. Probably MSPaint for art, probably no sounds, though SFXR sounds good.

And that’s about it! Real life is definitely getting in the way this time, but I’ll power through it.

I’m in … power-up the deathray!

I’m in for LD26! I’ve set aside the weekend, and have spent a few hours picking out new tools and preparing them (not enough but better than nothing). My head is completely empty of ideas, but let’s hope that’s a good thing.

My tools:

  • Notepad++ for editting HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Chome for testing / development tools
  • jQuery as my only library
  • Pickle and Photoshop for graphics
  • Bfxr and inudge and possibly GarageBand for sound
  • FireFTP for file transferring
  • HostGator for my web hosting
  • Tumblr for blogging

For more info, follow my tumblr: http://deathraygames.tumblr.com/tagged/LD26

Good luck to everyone!

My First Time…

So this’ll be my fist Lundum Dare WOOO! Not sure if I’ll go for Comp or Jam, but I’ll do something either way.

My Weapons Of Choice:

Coding – One of Monogame, Flixel, Gamemaker or Unity (depends on how adventurous I feel, or how many potatoes I have to peel);
Art – Flash, Photoshop, maybe Maya;
Audio – Ableton;
Blogging – My website;

My goal with this is to make something. ANYTHING!

That’s about it. Have fun, I’m looking forward to it!

Second times a charm!

Hello guys, I’m Josh-EXE.

This is going to be my second Ludum Dare, the first one didn’t end so well for me as a black out made me lose half of my game.

This time I’m prepared and I’m ready to work.

I will be using Unity as a basic game engine with more than likely UltimateFPSCamera to start with. I will also be using Autodesk Maya to do the 3D graphics and due to my limited texturing ability (I have none) it will most likely cell shaded. As for audio I will be using Audacity like everyone else.

I will be live streaming the creation of my game at (www.twitch.tv/joshdotexe), just as a warning I may or may not be gone a majority of Sunday.

I hope to see everyone on Friday night.

Hey Ho, Let’s Go!

First time here, let’s try something new and really amazing :)

My Tools:

Unity 3d, C#, autodesk Maya, photoshop, illustrator, logic pro.

Happy Ludum Dare for all!

Cheers!

First time

Not really sure how well this will go but hey might as well try. I decided today to take part in the compo, so that should be interesting. Have a few things to finish up for courses to allow me to participate this weekend, which will be tough.

Here’s a list of what I will be trying to use

  • Editor: Vim
  • Code: Java 1.7 SE (Might use lwjgl + Slick2D Utils)
  • Graphics: Gimp
  • Sound: Most likely sfxr

Schedule will probably be fairly relaxed, and that’s probably going to screw me, but we’ll see what happens. Good luck :)

I’m in.

Flashpunk/AS3,

garageband,

photoshop.

good luck to everybody

love you, @thatredant

Visibility

I’ll be entering this LD. I’m also hosting a punk-as-fuck sub-dare dare on the Braingale forums. Feel free to join in

Tools I’ll be using include Sublime Text 2, Löve2D, Illustrator, Reason, Intuos 4, and a sketchpad

Warmup… week

Was a bit delayed during warm-up weekend, but I’ve checked out all my tools and made a neat little city building prototype using HaxePunk, DataFairy, and Flash Cs5 to draw some simple assets.

product_prototype_v0

The sell button is bit bugged, but I’m not fussing over the small stuff.

Tip: Hold SHIFT down while clicking to build and sell multiple buildings.

Check it out: http://mkv25.net/showcase/games/product_v0.swf

My first Ludum Dare

I’ve competed in coding competitions before but i haven’t gotten an opportunity to do Ludum dare until now. I will probably compete this weekend if I like the theme.

Here’s a list of what I’ll be using:

Language: Java 7

Editor: Eclipse

Graphics: Gimp

Sound: Audacity

Library: LibGDX

Have fun, its a really cool experience after your first time, this will be my second ludum! 😀

Hello! Farman.Farout reporting in!

Hey everyone! This is going to be my first LD. I’m really excited to finally be able to participate. I’ve been grinding my skills up all year long! :)

Recently I entered Clay.io’s Got Game competition. After failing to finish a complete javascript engine in a timely manner my partner and I switched over to using Impact JS. We like it quite a bit. With only three days left before the deadline we crafted Gma’s House together from nearly scratch. I’m not a complete stranger to the concept of a jam. Those were three long days!

My current project has the WIP name of Guitar Slinger. I will attach a few images

Screen Shot 2013-04-23 at 11.15.11 PM Screen Shot 2013-04-23 at 11.15.30 PM Screen Shot 2013-04-23 at 11.15.37 PM Screen Shot 2013-04-23 at 11.15.50 PM

–of my pixel art. I’ve been working hard to improve.

Guitar Slinger is also using Impact JS.

Anyhow — I will likely be entering into the competition as solo act. I will be using Pixen, Impact JS, Komodo Edit 8, CFXR, and perhaps recording my mouth / instruments.

I wish you all a good jam! May we all jam together

as the cosmic stars align above us

in harmony!

Gan the creator!
Almighty God!
The Universe!
Channel through our hearts and minds and out of our finger tips!

Amen!

I’m just goofing. Let’s do this!

Sincerely,

Farman.Farout
