Ludum Dare 48 April 24–27, 2021

Are you a non-programmer loking for a team?

Hey everyone, if you are a non-programmer looking for a team for the upcoming Ludum Dare, our team would be delighted to have you join us.

We have plenty of programmers and we are looking for other talent, regardless of whether you are a musician, 2D/3D artist, game designer or someone else entirely.

Send me a message on Twitter (found on my LDJam profile) and we can talk!

I want to try Ludum Dare

Привет! In general, I am a student who is just starting in game development, but I have an aspiration! I would like to find a team with which I can learn something new, study, and gain experience! I am from Russia, and English is not at a high level))) you can contact me @densharik (Telegram)

  • Procreate: Other style art
  • Beepbox & Audacity: For music

and my theme proposals are,

  • Wild Area
  • Everything It’s Over
  • Feeling Alive

Best luck!!

Reposting My Themes/I Am In!

Hello fellow developers! Here we are over a month until LD48 and I'm so excited for it that I am already preparing (and have been for the past month). LD47 was so much fun that I will certainly participate in LD48! The themes I have thought of in under 30 seconds and suggested are:

  • Stay in control (rather promising)
  • All or nothing (some games with good replay value?)
  • Multiple endings (don't take this one too literally unless you're making a visual novel)

Last Ludum Dare I entered the jam and managed to make something this playable in only three hours, so I'll probably enter the Compo this time to honor the 48th Ludum Dare (and I will be sure to invest more than a small 3 hours into the game). What I'll be using will be:

  • Construct 3 for the guts of the game.
  • In the event of doing a team project I won't worry about art, but if I do the Compo I will either use Windows Paint 3D or the art program I have designed over the past few days just for fun. Turns out it works better than I thought it would.
  • Audio: just like art, I'll be providing the code for a team project and doing it myself for a Compo project. Currently my audio program of choice is Apple's GarageBand.

I'll be hosting whatever I end up with in HTML5 as usual since it is convenient (and lets Mac users actually play my creations), but this jam I also plan to add some Windows 32/64/ARM64 builds and possibly some Linux 32/64 builds.

Happy jamming everyone!

Opt for the Tactical gear and make the finest choice possible!

Tactical gear is the Equipment used by the army or police personal for their safety. This includes knives, knee caps or elbow caps, weapons which might help them during difficult times.

Tactical gear helps in the difficult situations and acts as savior for you. These gears are available online as well as offline also. While purchasing Tactical gear online, one must be really careful while finding out whether the seller are registered or not before getting the gear. The goods being sold are they branded or not? Very often we come across the goods which are smuggled into the country and by purchasing them you become part of this scam. So, it is advised to check properly before purchasing any of the gear from the online sellers. Also, there are some gears which might not have the license to be sold online like weapons and certain kinds of knives. So, it is recommended to get this checked. Make sure that the seller is authorized to sell the goods and that legally you are allowed to possess them.

Gears include various things like a cap, chest guard which is worn around the chest, knives for your safety, knee caps which are worn around the knees for protecting the knees, elbow caps worn around the elbows. We usually recommend buying these gears after trying once. To know more about the suitable tools online, then make sure to give a look at this >> Buy Tactical Clothing

Obtain a trustworthy adjustable computer desk online!

Online sites have been offering all the things along with various products so that they can boost the customer base without any hassle. Companies are looking for different ways in which they can manage the space accordingly. So, one should make sure to look for an adjustable computer desk online. The computer system has been in demand ever since its invention and introduction in the marketplace. It is something that has changed the overall holistic outlook of the people towards communication. One should keep all the equipment of a computer safely so as to manage space accordingly.

At the time of getting an adjustable computer desk online, one needs to make sure that they look from the reliable site. Try and read the detail of the site properly as this is the best way of making the right choice without stepping out of the house.

The adjustable computer desk is designed in such a way that it can be placed anywhere without any hassle. So, all you need to do is just go through the site detail before coming to any conclusion. Even make sure that you avail the desk of the right size and shape as it can help in managing the space properly. Try to look for a suitable desk in the right manner from the worthy online site.

To know more about the reliable and durable desks from the online site, then it is suggested that one should make sure to give a look at this >> computer supply store

HELP HOW DO I PLAY THIS-

Theme suggestions

These were some of the ideas I came up with ^^ quick share of my thoughts

-Wrong aesthetics with the right gameplay

-They are everywhere

-They were thousands

Suggestion: remove unfinished tabs

Every time I open the site I see all these tabs that seem interesting but they're completely empty or have something like "TODO: finish this" (Tabs like: Me, Stats, Settings, Explore, Tools, Communities)

I know managing Ludum Dare is a lot of work but I think the site would just look a lot better without all these completely unfinished tabs, it would probably also be less confusing!

All the best

Joining Ludum dare

the plan for ludum dare is to make the game, then make the asprites, then make the music/sfx, I would hope to have a team but i guess doing it alone is something i have to learn so

I’m in

This Ludlum Dare will be special. Not only because it is the 48th one, but it is also the 10th and last compo for me. Feels like a birthday. 🥳

Good luck everyone and have fun!

My Suggestions and Some Tips for your Themes

Here are my suggestions, looking forward to this Compo :)

Ludum Dare 48 Suggestions.png

And some tips taken from the following posts, check them out if you want more:

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/soaring/my-take-on-how-to-suggest-good-themes

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/ocean-view-hotel/how-to-improve-your-theme-suggestions

  • Short and Vague you want to get the ball rolling, not lock people into a specific game. For example, "Greek Mythology" could just be "Mythology". Or "Infinite Lives" could just be "Infinite".

  • Don't Suggest Light and Dark This is not a general tip, every Ludum Dare there are just way to many duplicate suggestions of "Light vs Dark", "Light and Dark", "Black and White", etc... Just don't do it.

  • Don't be Subversive People are going to try and subvert the theme anyway, that's some of the fun, but putting the 1000th "You are the Final Boss" just restricts people.

And best of luck to you all <3

Participating this year as well, glhf!

I will be creating a game for this time, I've also created an itchio page for my upcoming projects related and unrelated to ludum dare events. I hope to engage with the community more and acquire more knowledge and experience as a game dev. I hope everyone will have fun and do their best as always, cheers!

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on these and why you would or wouldn't pick them.

We finally selected our suggestions!

So, we held some votes and stuff and after long brainstorming of ideas, the four members of Notinatal team decided to suggest these three themes into the upcoming Ludum Dare! Do you like them? What are your thoughts?

We also altered our logo to make it more fancy :
