Ideas for the jam

Here are my themes:

  1. Make it count (ex: A bullet heaven where you have a single bullet)

  2. New perspective (ex: A platformer where you move the camera between NPCs, in order to play normally)

  3. Start from the end (ex: You beat the game, but now you go back to the start)

I hope these do well. Any feedback or other examples would be great :D

Live Chat Outsourcing - Perk for best business growth

With high growth in online businesses, every organization should meet their requirements and add up value to their business to be in the race with their competitors. Organizations that are thinking to support the altruism in the correct manner should take help from live chat outsourcing. This particular software is planned in the correct way with the goal that the individual can boost the goodwill of the organization in the best manner conceivable.

Live chat outsourcing is an easier and simpler type of correspondence where the nature of commitment and backing for the client is expanded to achieve the best results. The chat support framework is increasingly expressive and can be controlled—a case which doesn't stand like telephone support. Thus gives a better opportunity to the representatives of the organization in interacting with the clients or the customers. It is recommended that all the associations should search for the live chat outsourcing so the individual can settle on the correct decision with all the support and no issue. The organization is proposed to lead different rounds of the meeting that can help in knowing the capability of the clients in the most ideal manner. This way they can know the real issues faced by their existing customers and also help them to generate new leads.

All the chat agents must be picked cautiously with the goal that the organization can elevate the benefits appropriately. Try and look for skilled and trained chat agents who are skilled in handling the chats according to the company's standards. It is recommended to search for the operators who are having a decent speed of typing and have command on their language. It is because if the typing speed is good with good communication skills, one can easily solve the queries of the customers in less time keeping the customer engagement to the maximum. That is why one should try and opt for reliable and better-skilled agents.

To know more about the finest live chat outsourcing for the business and for skilled agents, then the person should make sure to give a look at the site https://deskmoz.com/live-chat-agents-uk

My Themes I Made Up With Very Little Thought

On a scale of one to ten, how excited is everyone to slaughter my themes and make sure they are nowhere close to the final theme voting?

Seriously, every theme I have seen so far is better than my suggestions.

Happy slaughtering!

My Suggestions

I'm in, third time

A bit too early to really confirm, but I plan to make a new wacky creation in the context of the next, legendary-numbered compo.

For now, my theme suggestions are: - Unconventional transportation - Around the clock - Chicken

I'm not sure about any of them though. Best not to think too much about it. I did consider suggesting a theme similar to LD46's "A cat named Jeff who is also a lawyer" but that might be a tiny bit too obscure. Maybe the world needs obscure themes. Try not to get too bland in your suggestions!

I'm looking forward to playing your games, as well as giving and getting good feedback, but my performance is unlikely to get better than my 5th ranking overall from last time. Who knows where your game will end up going? Remember to have fun!

Let's Play Challenge (Vidtaculous Challenge)

Hello everyone!

We're looking for indies to submit their games for a non-profit, let's play video challenge :).

We'll be advertising the challenge bringing lots of new players to all who sponsor this charitable event.

The challenge participants (mostly Youtubers) would make a video about your game and upload it our website. The best video uploaded during the challenge will win a cash prize.

All submitted games and their studios will be displayed prominently on our website for all participants to see. You'll also gain lots of new publicity for your game (maybe even some sales)

We're currently only looking for 44 more games before we start the challenge.

It's only $50 to submit a game, and you'll be helping us to raise money for Action Against Hunger charity which fights to help save children's lives and end hunger.

Interested in submitting a game or two? Just sign up below and we'll add your games into the challenge.

Sign Up Here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1rxVEtUb7uEdpmrxLtwP-QEKNIRegIthoTLONH7ZHS5I

You can also email me at dan@Vidtaculous.com .

Thank you and hope to see your games in the challenge!

I'm in, here are my suggestions:

Nostalgia Goggles

This is just an idea I had for my own game jam involving remaking classics, but without that context I think this allows for many unrestrictive interpretation. Maybe it's literal instead of a figure of speech?

Your tools are your friends

I was originally thinking of a game where your weapon is a sentient fireball who you have to look after, but I weapons are inclusive as tools, and this means it doesn't even need to be a game involving fighting.

From here to there

Could be interpreted as a call to adventure, alternative modes of transportation, even some sort of sports game. I think this is my favorite suggestions, just because of how open it is.

My suggestions

You are the enemy

Winning makes it harder

Make way

Are they good?

Can't wait for LD48? The 11th Alakajam is on February 26th!

Clipboard01.png

The next Alakajam! week-end will be held on February 26-28, and the theme selection phase is already ongoing. If you've never heard of the jam, the schedule is as follows:

  • The two weeks prior to the jam are dedicated to an original 2-step voting system (Week 1 = submission/voting, Week 2 = shortlist ranking)
  • The jam itself lasts 48 hours both for solo & team entrants, and launches during a livestream at 7pm UTC (Europe-friendly times). An underrated unranked category also lets you have a relaxed approach to jamming: you can work on a long-term project of yours while still taking part in the karma/coolness system to get valuable feedback.
  • Two weeks of community voting then take place until the winners are crowned :crown:

Feel free to check out the results from our previous jams to get a feel for how things are run. We hope to see you there

18 years ago, i started making games

Today, i'm super hyped to release my first game, based on our Ludum Dare 44 entry Fluffensnuff. Please check it out if you enjoy challenging puzzle games.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1QMZ3JpIWE

Thank you, ludum daring people! I feel like participating in Ludum Dare was a really key to learn how to finish and polish games properly. In 2017 i joined my first Ludum Dare with a really crappy but kind of interesting game Membrum. I learned so much after that - after all, i didn't manage to release something in the 15 years before that. So, my deep thanks to you guys! Your feedback and positive, creative spirit is simply amazing.

PS: Does anyone remember Blitz Basic? :D

Replaced one of my suggestions

I replaced “Musicians” with “No In-Game Text Allowed”. I figured this would be challenging, trying to get gameplay elements, story, and other information across only through images or symbols.

Tips for good theme suggestions

Hello jammers, I've been participating in Ludum Dare for a few years now and after going through many voting rounds and culling thousands of themes I think I have some useful tips to help reduce the amount of poor theme suggestions that will inevitably get culled.

Now, there is no guarantee that your suggestions will get to the final round, or that they will not get culled, but these tips might help you avoid making low-effort themes that make up a large chunk of theme suggestions and waste everyone's time.

Tips that may help you get past the first cull: 1. Spell your suggestions correctly. Misspelled suggestions will get culled. Suggestions with emojis will get culled. 2. Avoid making meme suggestions. "OwO wats dis" and "Amogus" will get culled. 3. Avoid making obscure references or overly complex/nonsense suggestions. "Terpsichorean myrmidon" will get culled, anything with brackets explaining what your suggestion means will get culled. 4. Avoid suggesting previous themes. Nobody wants to redo the same theme again. 5. Avoid suggesting "gimmick" themes. These include suggestions that limit gameplay, such as "3 button controls", "Two colors only", "Non-euclidean space", etc. 6. Avoid suggesting themes that require specific knowledge/skills. Some people/teams can make a multiplayer FPS, while others can only make a visual novel. "3D Platformer" will get culled, "2D FPS" will get culled.

I've also noticed that successful themes typically follow "Capitalize first word only" format (the first word is capitalized but the remaining words are all lowercase). It could be that themes of this format are generally better, or it could be that people prefer this format. This could be a coincidence but I've been noticing it a lot. Unless your theme relies on a specific capitalization, it might be worthwhile to format it this way. "All Capitals" also works for some themes but it's been a while since a theme matched this format.

Bear in mind - these tips are not a result of some thorough data-driven analysis of every theme suggestion ever made and is based purely on my personal experience culling and voting on themes for a few years in a row. This may not apply to older LDJams. Take these suggestions with a grain of salt but do consider at least the most obvious ones - like spelling correctly (I will always cull misspelled suggestions, for example).

If you have your own tips or thoughts on these ones, share them with me and others.

"Allan", my Ludum Dare 36 game soon on Steam

Hello!

I'm Damdoshi, Hanged Bunny Studio's only member. x)

It was almost 5 years ago, before the "Ancien Technology" jam. I was inspired by the C64 version of Thunder Blade and had decided to create "Depth", an engine pixelart/3D engine with raytraced shadows. My failed attempt for LD35 "The infiltrator" was using it (in 64x64 pixels) and... "Allan", for LD36 was using it, and it was nice.

It looked like this at that time: allan_old.jpg http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-36/?action=preview&uid=45212

Of course, I immediately have wished to make a wider game with that concept, but I was working on another game (Melordandek) and had to finish it before starting something else. Today, I still wish to make it, but I thought it would be nice to use that one I already got...

So, in a few days, I'm gonna release a polished and extended version of Allan on Steam. The objective is still the same: reaching the ancien (but precious) technology hidden in the laboratory, but with improved graphics and sounds, more movement, more opponents, additional levels, secrets and 5 settings of difficulty.

vgame_pc.png

Trailer and description on its future steam page! = ) https://store.steampowered.com/app/1553530/Allan/

I'm a programming teacher by the way and for the next LD, my students are gonna play with us. I hope the atmosphere is still as nice and warm as before = ) It's gonna be their first jam and for some of them, their first video game played by someone else.

My proposed themes are:

Let them fight each other

No attack only send back

My Theme Suggestions

Hi everyone! I'm in. These are my theme suggestions: Theme suggestions.jpg

Theme Suggestions

While by now I have took part in Ludum Dare for a number of times, I realized that I have never made the "I'm in" post widely considered mandatory. So for this time, I'll make one about my theme suggestions.

48

Yes, I thought that Ludum Dare 48 would be a good time to break out... "48". Usually, I abhor themes with numbers in them. In my experience, the ones we usually see in slaughter are either too restrictive or just simply too tired. However, I'd like to make a case, on this special occasion, for "48":

It is a one-time theme that has no risk of turning into a cliche.

We have one and only one chance to "48", and that is for the 48th Ludum Dare, where people use 48 hours to make games. It can never return to haunt us in the future. You Only Jam Once.

It is very open to interpretation, yet not a catch-all.

48 is a good, mundane number. It's not small enough to "accidentally" follow, it's not big enough to be intractable, and it's not a prime, so combinatorics can be used and abused to your advantage.

Unlike our restrictive old friends, "X colors", "X buttons", "X seconds", and so on, it's possible to make a game in any genre, using any mechanics, telling any story, in any art style with the theme "48". Yet, it would still require creative thinking to do a good job at it.

All that has a beginning

A few LDs ago, pov mentioned that Compo, the 48-hour format that started it all, will be coming to an end in Ludum Dare 48. If that is indeed going to happen, I guess it won't hurt to have a theme that captures the feeling...

However, there is a twist!

The actual theme is only, as you have seen, the first half of the saying. All that has a beginning does not have to come to an end. They can come to something else, or nothing in particular at all.

It does not have to be sad farewell.

Even if you take the saying at its face value, it's to be noted that the theme does not, in any way, force you to make a sad game. While good things end, bad things end as well. And sometimes, even as a good thing ends, an even better thing can come in to take its place!

The last Compo won't necessarily be the end of its spirit. While what it means to make a game from scratch has shifted over the years, there is a special experience to be had in doing what you can't, for the express reason that you can't, and making something you can call your own. While its form might change, I'm sure it will live on.

When day breaks

When I tried to think about Ludum Dare, I immediately recalled one thing that was etched in my mind, and possibly a lot of other people's minds: the Sun, its dreadful sight! As it turns out, there are a wealth of other reasons why some can be afraid of the Sun as well, but whether you recognized the phrase or not:

It is, again, a versatile theme.

As you have probably guess by now, I really like themes that can be interpreted in more than a few ways. We'll have tons of people making games, and that means we'll have tons of game to play and rate. As a result, ideas that are cool for a single game, aren't necessarily cool for the jam.

For this theme, you can, of course, just use the phrase as a background. It can be hopeful, or dreadful, or anywhere in between. You can also finally make that "day-night cycle" game for it. Otherwise, you can dig into the conveniently abstract words. What is a day, and what does it mean for it to break? Surely you'll be able to find something interesting.

Themes are inspirations

Themes that limit design space, or enforce some kind of mechanic, aren't necessarily best themes for Ludum Dare. To quote the rules:

Ludum Dare is about encouraging you to make something. The theme is something we do to help everyone with the “blank sheet of paper” problem that artists and creators deal with. It’s easier to make something with some direction than none.

Ludum Dare is a large event. Given too small a design space, it's inevitable that more entries will collide. And, to me, the jam is less about competing to be the best designer within a restriction, but more about making something, and seeing what other people say, through their feedbacks, and through their works.

So that's all about the suggestions this time. Out of them. my personal favorite is "48", but I like the other ones as well! Also, I'm in.

Phil Alone - Game Update 1.3!

Hello guys! So, I have good news for everyone... I will be making another update of Phil Alone, my game from Ludum Dare 47! This game was played by more than 1000 people already, and I am really happy that happened! The game had a good feedback from Ludum Dare community and I am looking forward to expand it on my free time, because right now I am focusing on my portfolio and another project.

Here is the link with the new updates from Phil Alone that will be online in March this year! https://gabrieldevbr.itch.io/phil-alone/devlog/225020/game-update-version-13

But for now this is gonna be the last update of the game, I will be focusing on other projects and I am gonna do a little support campaign for the game, so me and the community could send it to Steam and people could play the game for free! If you wanna support the game, just press the button Support This Game on the itch.io page!

Thank you guys for everything, and let's make some games!

My Themes!

Wussup yall, I'm getting hype for LD48! Not sure if I'm gonna Jam or Compo, but here are my theme suggestions for now. Just whatever came to my mind at the moment.

themes.png

Nature vs Nurture; This could be tough, so maybe I'll change it. (Not like anyone would vote for this tho) My first thought would be some kind creature has a behavior, and you can try to tame it with love and care, or accept it's wild behavior. You may NEED some of those wild creatures for puzzle solving or keeping the environment in balance. I dunno.

Unconventional Weather; I really like this one. It could rain cats and dogs, or you need to survive acid rain, or fight through fog of war, or something even crazier.

Support the Real Hero; This could be a good one too. Easiest take would be a healer to keep their friends alive, but what about a shop keeper? Or someone who drives the hero where he needs to go? Or Gathering donations for Teachers or something like that? Or literally keeping the hero upright with shoring stilts, or building bridges for them to cross?

At any rate, I'd probably stir these up for a few hours before something good really comes to me.

MyThemes

First time LD jammer and am super exited for 48. probably gonna stick to the jam and hope i can get some good feedback + maybe even get my themes picked here they are

Different Ammunition "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again" Wild Goose Chase

Different Ammunition: I love this because it really makes you step back and think. What could ammunition be? what is firing it? letteral or figurative? I just feels there are so many interpretations of it (not all of them being shooters)

"If at first you don't succeed, try, try again": this is a famous quote that I think would really get the gears turning. What does it mean to succeed, and if you do at what cost? what does trying again mean, does it have a limit, or a reason for being able to? there's just so many possibilities!

Wild Goose Chase: this one is a really crazy one, on paper, it looks done and dusted, something about a goose. but dig deeper into the possibility's and the ideas are endless. What are you chasing? why is it running? why is it wild? Like I've said, there's just so many possibilities!

thank you for your time

Game jam podcast!

Hey all! I'm not sure yet if I'll have time to participate in LD Jam this April. I'm hoping so, but in the meantime I've started a podcast dedicated to game jams.

Would love some feedback on it!

In for the 48th LDJam! Last jam we were really happy with our game Stuck in Paris. I'm sure this one will be a blast too!

Looking forward to another great weekend of Jamming.

  • Trello (for project management)

Let’s go make some Games!

Software development with advance tools

Developing and testing tools like JIRA, Asana, and Basecamp are worth exploring.Project management is crucial when working with developing teams because without it, you wouldn’t know what your remote team is working on.They are permanent employees just like your local team, except that they’re based elsewhere.

An important notice for Mac players

First things first, please, no “Mac vs PC” debates. Ludum Dare might be the only gaming community where I haven’t endured a “PC Master Race” flame war, it’d be nice if we could keep it that way.

Now that that is out of the way, I wanted to bring up a reoccurring issue that Mac-using participants have had to deal with in the past few Ludum Dares, the dreaded and cryptic "The Application can't be opened" error.

34770.png

This was an issue with macOS Catalina that I believe is still present in macOS Big Sur. The actual cause is the app become corrupt when it's uploaded/downloaded in a .zip file, particularly from itch.io

I know the cause, a fix for players that download apps with this error, and preventative measures uploads can take before distributing.

If you're a developer sharing your game, be sure to place your .app file inside a .dmg file before uploading. Even if the .dmg is inside a .zip file, the .app file will still be protected. Your players should not have any issues.

For Mac users who’ve downloaded an already-corrupted .app, you’ll need to do a bit of Terminal maintenance. Right-click the .app, navigate to /Contents/MacOS, and find the single Unix executable file. Open a terminal window and type in “chmod +x “, then drag in the Unix executable. You should wind up something that looks like this: chmod +x /Users/UserName/Downloads/GameName.app/Contents/MacOS/GameName Hit enter, you should see the icon change, and your .app should be good to go!

I'm in, for the ??? time

I can't even remember how many times I've participated in LD. Anyways, I'm in. Not sure yet about the tech I'll use.

Oh, btw, I suggested the theme "Guardian" which was Ludum Dare no. 1 (not no. 0, which was a thing too). I think it would be kinda sick if it won.

jam or compo

Hi, I don´t know what, when and where I need to do something to choose the compo or the jam.

What is your opinion?

I kind of want to make a strategy game because they need some love in game jams, they are rarely found in game jams since RTS or building games, or games alike are pretty hard to make, so it may be a critical factor when choosing a type of game to make for a game jam, but I am not loosing hope :)

So yeah, themes are something like a great fit for a strategy genre, but I think they are not limiting anything.

Screenshot_11.png

I am in

Nothing much to say, just I'm in. One more thing, here are my themes: 1. Sound is deadly: Well, pretty self-explanatory 2. Choices matter. Or do they?: Well, Do choices really matter? Or is everything decreed by fate? 3. Modern problems, ancient solutions: Well, sometimes, modern problems require ancient solutions. And I didn't make this post after watching Veritasium's video on origami. Also, can someone teach me how to spell modern? I always get it wrong for some reason.

Let's Code Review!

A while ago, I published a blog post here in the channel if anyone was interested in a Code Review and I have now created the third and last Let’s Code Review video for LD 47. Its the game Round Out from @foolmoron. I thought it would be a different format than only playing the games. What do you say, should I do another review in LD 48?

About game jams ...

Hi guys!

Last year I decided to joined one game jam each month as a personal challenge. Here's a video I made where I tell a little story about each of those 12 game jams (including two Ludum Dare).

Hope you'll find it interesting! Cheers!

Share a theme?

Hey all,

I started a podcast about game jams! If you're interested in game design you should check it out, but if not, would you mind sharing one or two of your theme ideas? There's a theme submission box on my website:

A theme is picked at random for every episode and we talk through the game design using it.

Thanks in advance!

Theme Update and Support The Game Campaign!

itch io image.png

Hello everyone from Ludum Dare!

Here is a new update on my game Phil Alone - The game I develop in Ludum Dare 47! Well, not a game update but a page theme update to be connected more with the game! I hope you guys enjoy it and see the post on the itch.io page! By the way, I am doing a Support The Game Campaign, and you can see more about it there, it's like a Kickstarter so go check it out! :D https://gabrieldevbr.itch.io/phil-alone/devlog/232782/theme-update

New to all this!

Hi everyone. I'll be working with a small team to try and make something cool next month. We're new to game creation and to Ludum! What's the best advice you have for us so we can prepare? Thanks!

Simple Pause/Quit package for Unity devs

I've noticed that as we all rush to get our games done, we tend to overlook some basic quailty-of-life inclusions.

Nearly every game I play has no way to pause the game, or to quit it (without resulting to OS-specific keyboard shortcuts).

I put together a quick little package that adds this functionality, and should work easily with any Unity game. Just import my package, and players can push ESC to pause/unpause or hold it to close the application. In the case of WebGL builds, pause will still work even though quitting does not.

You can download it HERE for free.

Check my collections, I also have a base project that includes this pause/quit functionality, but also sound management, a title screen, player prefs management, and more (I plan on updating that soon, hopefully before this LD)

Hello, wanna make games faster?

Helo there, I've made a tool with many basic features for unity so if anybody would like to use it then you can

https://github.com/DockFrankenstein/qASIC/releases/tag/0.0.8

Here are some features

Customizable settings

A settings system with saving and room for expandability. You can easily add your own by using the qASIC.Options.OptionsSetting attribute. Toggles and sliders are easy to setup, but dropdowns require coding, so keep that in mind. There is a example scene with it working, so if you don't know what to do, you can just copy the menu from there for simple resolution, framerate and fullscreen options. IMPORTANT: to get rid of lag, add the options load script! qASIC Custom options.png

In game console

Although many people think consoles aren't that important in small games, they still can be very useful if you use it properly. There are already some build in commands such as: scene, input, options, help, clear and echo. You can also make your own by interfering from qASIC.Console.Commands.GameConsoleCommand. You can also quite easily log something by using qASIC.qDebug.Log. You can add a console to your scene from the Game Console prefab. qASIC Game console.png

Global audio manager

Sound effects and music is something every game needs. In 3d games you are probably placing audio sources around the scene, but mostly for 2d games you probably need an audio manager. You can play, stop, assign audio channel and mixer and save user preferences (if you add some sort of audio options).

Saving manager

Most of the time you don't really need saving and if you need it you most likely are using player prefs, so not sure how useful this thing is to you

There are also some other nifty tools such as simple bool string or int unityevents and custom vector string conversion for cleaner way of displaying information. In the future there will be also an info block (showing framerate, hardware, playtime, exception and warning count etc) and more customization. There are also probably going to be templates for clean scripts, so you will no longer have to delete the same functions before writing something.

An LDer Makes a non-Jam Game

Hello, Ludum Darers!

This is a bit of self-promotion, but hopefully not too off-topic*. I'm a developer who made his first game in Ludum Dare nearly a decade ago (and have made quite a few games since then here) and I set out last year to make a game of a larger scope (though not based on a jam game) - and am starting to get near where I hope to release it publicly. I've always been impressed with the quality of feedback I get on jam games from this community, so I thought I'd reach out here to see if anyone would be interested in testing my game prior to any public release of it. A trailer for the game follows, showing sped up gameplay:

https://youtu.be/ZiOrIll8mUk

The game is called Warp Factory and is an automation puzzle game in which the player must build factories to produce various shapes and patterns, as well as to perform more dynamic tasks. It features a system of portals that allow one to cut apart and reconnect space in paradoxical - and productive - ways.

Anyone interested in testing can sign up at this link: https://themilobrandt.com/warpfactory/subscribe.html

I'm planning various improvements before I release the game as a public beta in a month or two - particularly to graphics** and to improve some aspects of user experience, as well as to support modding - but I'm not sure how the gameplay holds up for someone who hasn't been acclimating to the puzzle for the last year, especially since I plan to create more puzzles, but don't know exactly where players would value these most - so feedback would be much valued and likely to be reflected in the game's development.

(*I propose that we just pretend this is for the October Challenge, setting aside that the October Challenge is on hiatus and that it is nearly as far from October as it's possible to be)

(**I'm afraid that, after developing this game for a year, I have conclusively proven that my usual struggle with graphics during these competitions is not, in fact, due to time constraints. That said, I hope to participate again in the April LD and will surely blame time constraints for the inevitably bad graphics nonetheless :) )

Getting Hyped For Ludum Dare 48

This will be my 6th ludum dare in a row. Gosh the years have really flown by. I am a programmer looking to get a team setup again for this year. Hope ever one has fun with this ludum dare.

Are you a non-programmer loking for a team?

Hey everyone, if you are a non-programmer looking for a team for the upcoming Ludum Dare, our team would be delighted to have you join us.

We have plenty of programmers and we are looking for other talent, regardless of whether you are a musician, 2D/3D artist, game designer or someone else entirely.

Send me a message on Twitter (found on my LDJam profile) and we can talk!

I want to try Ludum Dare

Привет! In general, I am a student who is just starting in game development, but I have an aspiration! I would like to find a team with which I can learn something new, study, and gain experience! I am from Russia, and English is not at a high level))) you can contact me @densharik (Telegram)

Reposting My Themes/I Am In!

Hello fellow developers! Here we are over a month until LD48 and I'm so excited for it that I am already preparing (and have been for the past month). LD47 was so much fun that I will certainly participate in LD48! The themes I have thought of in under 30 seconds and suggested are:

  • Stay in control (rather promising)
  • All or nothing (some games with good replay value?)
  • Multiple endings (don't take this one too literally unless you're making a visual novel)

Last Ludum Dare I entered the jam and managed to make something this playable in only three hours, so I'll probably enter the Compo this time to honor the 48th Ludum Dare (and I will be sure to invest more than a small 3 hours into the game). What I'll be using will be:

  • Construct 3 for the guts of the game.
  • In the event of doing a team project I won't worry about art, but if I do the Compo I will either use Windows Paint 3D or the art program I have designed over the past few days just for fun. Turns out it works better than I thought it would.
  • Audio: just like art, I'll be providing the code for a team project and doing it myself for a Compo project. Currently my audio program of choice is Apple's GarageBand.

I'll be hosting whatever I end up with in HTML5 as usual since it is convenient (and lets Mac users actually play my creations), but this jam I also plan to add some Windows 32/64/ARM64 builds and possibly some Linux 32/64 builds.

Happy jamming everyone!

Opt for the Tactical gear and make the finest choice possible!

Tactical gear is the Equipment used by the army or police personal for their safety. This includes knives, knee caps or elbow caps, weapons which might help them during difficult times.

Tactical gear helps in the difficult situations and acts as savior for you. These gears are available online as well as offline also. While purchasing Tactical gear online, one must be really careful while finding out whether the seller are registered or not before getting the gear. The goods being sold are they branded or not? Very often we come across the goods which are smuggled into the country and by purchasing them you become part of this scam. So, it is advised to check properly before purchasing any of the gear from the online sellers. Also, there are some gears which might not have the license to be sold online like weapons and certain kinds of knives. So, it is recommended to get this checked. Make sure that the seller is authorized to sell the goods and that legally you are allowed to possess them.

Gears include various things like a cap, chest guard which is worn around the chest, knives for your safety, knee caps which are worn around the knees for protecting the knees, elbow caps worn around the elbows. We usually recommend buying these gears after trying once. To know more about the suitable tools online, then make sure to give a look at this >> Buy Tactical Clothing

Obtain a trustworthy adjustable computer desk online!

Online sites have been offering all the things along with various products so that they can boost the customer base without any hassle. Companies are looking for different ways in which they can manage the space accordingly. So, one should make sure to look for an adjustable computer desk online. The computer system has been in demand ever since its invention and introduction in the marketplace. It is something that has changed the overall holistic outlook of the people towards communication. One should keep all the equipment of a computer safely so as to manage space accordingly.

At the time of getting an adjustable computer desk online, one needs to make sure that they look from the reliable site. Try and read the detail of the site properly as this is the best way of making the right choice without stepping out of the house.

The adjustable computer desk is designed in such a way that it can be placed anywhere without any hassle. So, all you need to do is just go through the site detail before coming to any conclusion. Even make sure that you avail the desk of the right size and shape as it can help in managing the space properly. Try to look for a suitable desk in the right manner from the worthy online site.

To know more about the reliable and durable desks from the online site, then it is suggested that one should make sure to give a look at this >> computer supply store

HELP HOW DO I PLAY THIS-

Theme suggestions

These were some of the ideas I came up with ^^ quick share of my thoughts

-Wrong aesthetics with the right gameplay

-They are everywhere

-They were thousands

Suggestion: remove unfinished tabs

Every time I open the site I see all these tabs that seem interesting but they're completely empty or have something like "TODO: finish this" (Tabs like: Me, Stats, Settings, Explore, Tools, Communities)

I know managing Ludum Dare is a lot of work but I think the site would just look a lot better without all these completely unfinished tabs, it would probably also be less confusing!

All the best

Joining Ludum dare

the plan for ludum dare is to make the game, then make the asprites, then make the music/sfx, I would hope to have a team but i guess doing it alone is something i have to learn so

I’m in

This Ludlum Dare will be special. Not only because it is the 48th one, but it is also the 10th and last compo for me. Feels like a birthday. 🥳

Good luck everyone and have fun!

My Suggestions and Some Tips for your Themes

Here are my suggestions, looking forward to this Compo :)

Ludum Dare 48 Suggestions.png

And some tips taken from the following posts, check them out if you want more:

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/soaring/my-take-on-how-to-suggest-good-themes

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/ocean-view-hotel/how-to-improve-your-theme-suggestions

  • Short and Vague you want to get the ball rolling, not lock people into a specific game. For example, "Greek Mythology" could just be "Mythology". Or "Infinite Lives" could just be "Infinite".

  • Don't Suggest Light and Dark This is not a general tip, every Ludum Dare there are just way to many duplicate suggestions of "Light vs Dark", "Light and Dark", "Black and White", etc... Just don't do it.

  • Don't be Subversive People are going to try and subvert the theme anyway, that's some of the fun, but putting the 1000th "You are the Final Boss" just restricts people.

And best of luck to you all <3

Participating this year as well, glhf!

I will be creating a game for this time, I've also created an itchio page for my upcoming projects related and unrelated to ludum dare events. I hope to engage with the community more and acquire more knowledge and experience as a game dev. I hope everyone will have fun and do their best as always, cheers!

Can't wait for Ludum Dare 48!

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on these and why you would or wouldn't pick them.

We finally selected our suggestions!

So, we held some votes and stuff and after long brainstorming of ideas, the four members of Notinatal team decided to suggest these three themes into the upcoming Ludum Dare! Do you like them? What are your thoughts?

We also altered our logo to make it more fancy :
