It's a game about a bear! You can play it in your browser! And, the best part is: HE'S NOT WEARING PANTS!!!
This'll be my third game release this year, and my seventh overall. I'm not doing anything fancy, literally just a minigame probably. Something I can pop out the door and be done with. I just want to get another game done. Let's gooooo!
1) Don't quit.
It doesn't matter what you've finished with. Release it anyway.
Yes, even if it's broken.
Releasing a game is something many developers don't get enough experience in, because 9/10 of us finish 1/10 of our projects. This is one thing that makes jams so great. Get a game done, make it play, and get the experience you need in releasing and managing it. Take advantage of this time and learn.

2) Watch your scope. Please.
It's incredibly easy to say "I'll just make a simple platformer" or "I'll just make a simple match-3 game", but those games aren't nearly as simple as you think they are. Try if you must, because it'll show you exactly what we're talking about when we say "go even simpler than that", but please, go even simpler than that. Trust me. This is my 11th year of gamedev, I like to think I know what I'm talking about.

3) Don't be discouraged by other projects.
This one's really hard. You're going to see progress updates that look amazing, and people's work that makes yours look like first-year garbage. But here's the thing: your work is your work. Be proud of what you're making. We like to say "the real prize in a game jam is the fact that you actually did it". These people are just a bit further along than you are, and that's totally okay. Keep on it, don't get discouraged, and you'll get to that point yourself soon enough!
Remember to rest, stay hydrated and most of all, don't lose yourself! You can do this! You're GREAT! :D
Something we can all work with, and something that won't spawn a bunch of Minecraft/Infinidigger clones like the last LD! This is going to be great!
Probably something 3D, with mouse input. Maybe a put-stuff-in-the-right-bin kinda game. The nice thing about arcade-style games is it's easy to make them fit the theme!
It's a remake of my first LD game, Courier Panic!. I'm going to make it in 3D, with actual controls this time. If you're curious, you can find it in my Ludum Dare profile!
I was gonna throw in the towel. My game idea is solid and my plan is in place, but I'm just too tired this weekend, I need the rest for the next week, and I'm now house-sitting out of the blue. The jam just didn't seem right for me this goaround.
Then I remembered that "extra" is a thing, and I think that's perfect for me.
I'm gonna whip up my "extra" game over the course of the next week, and get it out the door by (hopefully) next Saturday. I won't get nearly as many votes, I reckon, but at least I'll be adding to my catalog. And my friends will get to play a great game! :)
