Let’s Do This

I’m in for a project this year.

Weapon of choice: Python 2.7 with Pygame

Other armaments: I typically use MilkyTracker for sound effects and other music, but if I get far enough into it to need better sound I may take a look at some other free tools.

Other Resources: I’ll probably leverage a free, open-source font to keep my text sharp and clean.  I haven’t decided on a font yet, but Google Web Fonts have been good choices in the past and are a likely candidate for this project.

Good luck to everyone!

Edit: I may also livestream some during the event.  You can check that out here.

Entry submitted! Now with time-lapse!

It has been a really interesting weekend for sure.  Thankfully, I made the deadline and got an entry submitted.  “The Library of Madness” is a little roguelike prototype done in Python with pygame.  It may not be much, but it was a lot of fun to work on!

Perhaps even more fun than the coding is watching the time-lapse videos of all the screenshots compiled over the 48 hour competition.  I threw some music in and it’s a blast to watch everything happen so fast after so many hours.  Thanks to all those that dropped by the livestream and said hello!

You can check out all my time-lapse videos here or click the youtube links below.

A Dare, a Ludum Dare

I’ve skipped the last few Dares, but I think I’ll be in for this one this go-around.

Potential Tools and Frameworks:
– HTML5
– jQuery
– CSS3
– Twine
– Phonegap
– Python w/ pygame
– Audacity
– RPG Maker VX
– Paper, Pen, Pencils, blank playing cards

We’ll just see where the theme takes me :)

I’ll also try to put up a livestream and do a post-submission time-lapse video (or two or three) like I did for the last Dare I was a part of. Good luck everyone.
