After what seems like a whirlwind of headaches I have something to show for it. Being my first time I have have to say I really didn’t know what I was getting myself into, and now I know why the warm-up exists. I started and changed about 3 ideas before I finally settled on this one and and it is coming together brilliantly
My first idea was to make a game about a Vet for monsters that would use magic to get super small and fight the diseases “Beneath the surface” I got the platforming down and did some cool stuff with the tiles, it wasn’t working for me.
So I started over….at about 10 am the next day I had this.
This time it was the same idea but instead of a platformer it would be a 2d brawler which I’ve actually made before but this still wasn’t quite fitting what I wanted.
Around 2pm I threw my hands in the air almost ready to give up, I conceded to playing some League of Legends and Diablo 3, and maybe that’s just what I needed…Ideas started spamming my brain and I got to animating and drawing the concept characters right away. And now I have a working basic game with “cheat” physics and “pretend” logic, its almost like you have to be able to come up with ideas of how to make it look like its doing something extremely complex while just tricking the eyes by doing something much more basic. Man I love Masks haha.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! I got a whole day of animating and background design ahead of me :S
Phaux Out!
