Obligatory “I’m in” post.

I think taking 2 days off my current project to work on something else will be a nice refresher. I am looking forward to participating.

Oh, I suppose I shall give some details.

Game Engine: GameMaker: Studio
Platform: HTML5/WebGL  (easier for everyone to play without a download)
Art: Photoshop CS5
Audio: Audacity/Mixcraft/Various Collections.
Favorite theme so far: Control Only the Beginning.

Best of luck to all the devs, and much love to everyone who put in the work to run #LD48!

Atomicle submitted.

So, Atomicle is submitted! My first Ludum Dare submission. Yay!
This is a simple reflex/strategy game based around the inner working of the Atom. The goal is simple:

You are Neutron (Circle) collecting the Protons (Squares) while trying to avoid the Tritons (Triangles). There are also Electrons (Red circle) which reverse your direction. Inspiration for this game comes from Hexagon and my love of science.

This game is built for WebHTML and requires WebGL. (Sorry IE users).

Web Link.
Ludum Dare Link.

( Yes I am aware that Tritons aren’t a real thing, but I had to make something up. :P )
( Also, it would be cool if LD added support for Gfycat embeding to reduce file sizes on the front page! )

Atomicle – Postmortem.

Being my first Ludum Dare, I must admit that I wasn’t even aware of the voting aspect of it until it kicked off. So many games to play and so many awesome concepts. I’m addicted to rating and playing games! So, my hats off to everyone. Great job!

According to other devs, it’s traditional for game compo/jams to end with a postmortem review of what went on and what you learned, and who am I to break tradition?

My Ludum Dare 29 Postmortem write-up.

A special thanks to the staff behind Ludum Dare for hosting this, and giving us a chance to advance our skills and have a fun time doing it.

Atomicle – Post Compo

I took some time to rough out the edges of Atomicle now that the compo is over, and I wanted to give everyone a chance at a more ‘full’ experience. A proper menu, fixed some bugs/gameplay, and added high scores.

(Note: The game isn’t designed to be ‘easy’ so don’t let the music fool you.)

The full latest update can be played here: http://www.lostautumn.net/atomicle and the original Ludum Dare version can still be found here:
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-29/?action=preview&uid=34026

I also have a ‘postmortem‘ write-up of the game from start to finish, as well as some thoughts on my first experience with Ludum Dare, and you can read it at: http://blog.lostautumn.net

This has been a real treat, and I look forward to participating again in the next go-around. I’ve met a lot of awesome developers and played a ton of excellent games this past week. Keep up the great work!

The Crossing – Name is pending.

I’m a bit behind but I am trying to haul butt to catch up.  I’ve moved into the art style of my game and I think it is coming along nice.

Snowman: The unofficial theme.

Some work in progress, re-using an old idea I had. This will be a clicker/tower defense style game. With Snowmen! SNOWMEN FOREVER!
