We spent all morning (after waking up late thanks to the cat going crazy in the middle of the night) hashing over ideas, and sticking post-its around the place, but we think we have it cracked. We're going for a card game route, similar to Hearthstone, where you have to spend your own life to play cards instead of spending mana. Wheels is doing well with the coding side. Cats has discovered she is worse at drawing on a computer than she is with pen & paper. This will be a cool game with some terrible graphics.....

We got a Trello board and everything.

I'm especially proud of 'Not a very nice robot'.

Argh. We are going to bed. Too tired. But going quite well. We play cards, the AI plays cards, health goes down.... can't do anything with those cards yet, but that's tomorrow's problem. Have a pretty card back.

Finally, with only 3 hours to go and lots of sleep deprivation, we're happy to submit our game DEALING WITH LIFE! There is still lots of polishing to be done and we're sure there's bugs (oh yeah, there's bugs). But we actually managed to create a playable game with a working AI. It really was an amazing experience.

Thanks LD, this was great fun! Can't wait to see everything you guys have come up with!

Massive congratulations to everyone who entered LD58, regardless of whether you did the jam, the compo, this third fancy new category of which I forgot the name, and most importantly, no matter whether you finished on time or not. This is by far the most vibrant, colorful and interesting community in the scene, and every time I return, I am greatly inspired by all of you.

So, for this Ludum Dare, I wanted to explore the possibility of creating something like an atmospheric walking simulator. Man did I underestimate the amount of effort needed for atmosphere. I spent far too long on setting the mood, which means there is very little in terms of game play. But what is there, turned out to be pretty good.

It was also my first project after switching to Godot, which meant I had to relearn a whole bunch of new ways of doing things. So come take a walk in the park with me while you're having your morning coffee or afternoon tea. And don't forget to post a link to your game in the comments! :)

Hey, you! Yes, YOU! I am finding it highly interesting that a lot of games published for this theme feature mushrooms in one or more ways. Honestly did not expect that. Although it is a popular thing to collect. Take a look at all these beautiful drawings of mushrooms. FOUR of them actually made it into my game.
