Ok so maybe there are a couple of other submarine game submissions. This is a simple game you can play in the browser that four of us wrote, designed, and scored for the jam. Had so much fun doing it. Hope you enjoy the game. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/into-the-abyss-deeper-and-deeper

So... I usually go with a JavaScript library like Phaser or Pixie... because have decent boilerplates and decades of experience.
But I'm C# curious... can anyone suggest a framework/library for someone with little C/C# experience?
I've tried Unity but I'd like something more bare bones and less opinionated if that's a thing. Halp?
Well... I tried... and dag nabbit that's good enough. I took it upon myself to learn C# and MonoGame during this game jam... a fools errand to be sure. The bad news is... I didn't get past making a title screen and a couple of buttons. The good news is I was able to build executables for Mac and Windows using new tech. I'm pleased with the learning experience and will continue to work on this game as a sandbox for learning more about C# and MonoGame.
I applaud all of the jammers who finished and those who did not finish their games this jam and look forward to playing and rating as many as I can!
Here's that sweet sweet title screen running as a Mac app. lol
Don't bother downloading it unless you want to be underwhelmed. ;)
