Ludum Dare 46

Ludum Dare 48

Now you see me, Now you dont: Done! :D

Joined it really last minute, but I'm pretty happy with how this turned out! Finally got to use 2D dynamic lighting as part the mechanics :DDD

You're a little light ball falling through the depths, but sometimes you can't see yourself! :eyes: Figure out where you are by watching the shadows you cast!

I wish I could get it to work on my ipad though :') seems unity 2020 doesn't Any feedback appreciated <3

Scarier Walls!

Some last minute additions before the deadline: Made the walls look scarier, so it's clearer that you'd die when touching the sides!

Whoo! And they're animated too! ^-^

Making a game in <5h when you have reptitive strain injury on your arms forces you to really pioritize stuff, because I can't type much before triggering pain.

I needed a way to create a game with very little code, but still innovative.

Time Hack

Restrictions often birth innovative ideas, and also narrows down the brainstorming process to save time. So on top of the theme, I self-imposed more restrictions upon myself. I decided to focus my entire game on a free asset I've been intrigued with to reduce coding: 2D Dynamic Lighting!

Creativity Hack

I find this framing helps creativity a lot; "A __ game, but ____." First, figure out a genre then add an insane twist! Like "A tower defense game, but no towers". In this case, it was An infinity runner, but you can't see the player character!"

Result

Now we have a game where you use dynamic shadows to figure out your position :V: Yay! And here's a breakdown of the time spent, I even had time to playtest & have dinner ^^

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated xD I've been told it's really hard! haha

Had a lot of fun with this! Pushed my little entry to the App Store too :’) I’ve realized I’ll never be “Finished” enough with my apps, as there’s always so much to polish and it can always be ‘better’ Trying to get over perfectionist tendencies and just.... send it xD
