I’m in… >.>

I have to work this weekend BUT i’m going to try and submit SOMETHING. I’ll be using Java, ASEPRITE and SFXR and a usb mic + random house stuff + Audacity.  Due to work commitments i’ll likely have MAXIMUM 20 hours to complete a game so I’ll be putting all mine time into function over form.  There will be sound, gameplay but graphics and effects may lack polish.  Even so, its going to be a BLAST 😀 Good luck everyone!

Game update – Quantum Dungeon is taking shape. literally before your eyes :D

So this is where i’m at with my UI. I think once i’ve done some color tweaking i’ll be happy with the walls. I’m trying my best to get things done but my biggest hurdle is i’ve had to build all the boilerplate stuff during the competition. I’ll have a nice basecode when I do the next LD :). Anyway. This is the whole point of the game. The idea that the whole game is on one screen? Sure. My game map is fixed. You are trapped inside a 19×19 map that changes as you move around triggering pressure plates that rearrange the dungeon around you. More updates in around 15 hours!

Quantum Dungeon Wall Animation

Just a quick clarification, unless you clicked the image to show it on its own, it didn’t animate so here’s the animation as a YouTube video. more progress updates later! I have to go to work now :)

I’m in!

This will be my second Ludum Dare.  I spent a lot of the last one trying to write the under laying code in java and I got a long way towards reaching a usable game but not enough to post an entry.  This time round i’ll be using unity and have the whole week booked off to brush up on unity before the big event begins! cant wait to see what is produced! 😀

Update on my entry

weeeeell, i decided to use unity this time round assuming it would be easy… its not.  its a hell of a lot of fun learning though! 😀 missed out on #screenshotsaturday so here’s my #screenshotsunday 😛  My working title for this game is schoolkids vs. zombies and the weapons of choice are everything from satchels to waterbombs as well as hopefully making use of the environment around them (hint: the main character is currently standing on a weapon).  I’m redrawing the main character and adding walk cycle, throw animation and a few other things (like resting animation) as well.  Then i “just” have to do the same for 1 or more zombie characters and add those.  the balloon currently has an animation tree, i just need to tie it into a throwing mechanism and do some collision detection.

LD33 I’m in!

The last 2 Ludum Dare’s I was in i didn’t fare well.  This time, I’m going in with a different tool set and hopefully I’ll be ready to make something within the available time.  My weapons of choice this time will be Twine and photoshop.  I will probably need to make use of the full 3 days but we shall see.

Sunday Morning Update – Human Hunter

Weeell, i’ve made a bit of progress, I have much of the map in place for the inital parts of the game, you can now burn in sunlight, regenerate health, and there are some villagers to kill and eat in the village somewhere.  They randomly spawn in so you may have to sit in one of the buildings there and wait for one to walk in.  Game in its current state can be found at http://workshopcraft.com/HumanHunter0.1.html but i’ll be posting more updates.  There are another 4 drainable humans to add, more skills, skill levelling and a LOT of game polishing to do before I consider it a finished game but I wanted to see peoples feedback and have something up for this ludum dare as the last 2 I took part in I never published a final project. Cant wait to make this even more awesome 😀 Please give feedback so I can make the game even better
