I’m joining my first LD.

It’s gonna be my first solo-made game (except for my mother’s birthday one a month ago (i was drunk for the most part of the creation)).

That theme was the one i hated most in the 48…

I’m french, it’s 3am, i want to cry a little…wait…i just did…

Whatever.

My friend’s doing this too, and we’ll be sharing some of the posts. You’ll find him here : glbs.

I slept 4h30.

We drank a lot of vodka yesterday waiting for the theme, i’m obviously hungover.

But my friends! I got my game IDEA! Plus i have a plan B if that idea is too complicated to make.

Now i just have to do it.

Things to do :

– make a list of what i have to do

-Smoke a cigarette/coffee

Spoiler : the game will be a trippy plateformer.

I’m having fun. I’m overwhelmed.

I’m sorry i said the theme was sucky, i am. Even if i still do think it is.

I love that we are so many people in this. I love seeing so many crappy food crappy pics.

I’m not sure i’ll finish my game in time. I a noob developer, i’m stuck on the easiest thing :

I have to load forty levels but the only way i know how to do it is the shitty way. I use Flixel.

I instanciate a new playstate for each level, and each one contain the forty-case switch function, so when i change something it has to be changed in 40 class. I can’t even explain how much it’s a fucked up way to code that. EWWW

But i learn. I’m having fun.

And be sure i’ll submit a playable version anyway.

TODO : make me and my friend glbs a cocktail, then finish that game.

Didn’t have time to make any sounds or music.

The last 4 hours have been HARDCORE.

I really thought i wasn’t going to make it. My whole body is shaking and i’m pretty sure i ate one of my own tooth.

Hi everyone, it’s me again.

I’m not sure minimalism is really a theme. I was hoping for Afterlife.

Right now my ideas are so minimalist you could call them non-existent.

I wanted a Zebra in my game, but i can’t draw a zebra or anything at all. Now i can make a minimalist zebra :

Is it still a zebra? What Would Malevitch Do? I think it’s a shitty zebra.

Maybe i like that zebra.

Or is it Pharell Williams?

OK,

I’m going to make a 3D game, for the first time. I’ll use Unity. 

For the last 2 hours i’ve tried to make my Character (First Person) run on a planet (sphere).

Her orientation is OK

I can move around, then it stops. It’s like i’m on the north pole and i can’t go anywhere else.

I should be so simple : a vector, 2 forces and the character control. I don’t know, and i can’t find help on Unity’s forum.

In 45 minutes, i change it for a simple plane.

For the first time i won’t say that the theme is sucky. Not cause it’s not, but cause i don’t understand what that means. My english is not perfect, obviously but i’m sure about one thing :

Somewhere in Serbia, there a guy, loling hard at us : “Those LD dorks have been trolled, they took my theme and i don’t care about videogames at all, let’s play leagues of legend in cybercafe”.
