Slaughtering Duplicate Themes
In the future, it would be great to de-dupe identical themes prior to a slaughter round.

How to check who suggested the old themes? And I forgot what i suggested . How to check what is mine ?
Hey there, going to stream the whole ldjam on my twitch. My toolset of choice is awesome PICO-8 fantasy console, here how it looks, btw:

Come say hi, if you can 😉
This will be my second time, good luck everyone
It will be my first participation at ludum dare, i've participated at GlobaGameJam with a team, but for the firs time i'm going to try it solo.
This is gonna be my first ludum dare. Im thrilled to make a game within 48 hours. I'll be using Godot engine mainly, Krita mostly for the art, and might be Audacity mostly for the audio. Well good luck to me and everyone!
I'm on board as well! It will be my first time participating, so naturally I'm very excited.
For visuals I'll be using GIMP, but I haven't decided yet on what language/framework to use for the game itself. Probably gonna stick with Unity or XNA (which means C#, yay). I still have to look into what technology to use for audio though.
Good luck and have fun everyone!
number three for me, provided the theme is good and I have time
Might be too busy on that weekend but if not I'm in! Going to be using Unity, Aseprite/MagicaVoxel & SunVox as usual.
As it says in the title I'm in. I can't remember how many times I've done LDJam now I think it's coming up to over 10 maybe?
Anyway I'm going to try and focus a lot more on the gameplay programming side of things for all this. Like try and make some weird gameplay mechanic or something. 😁
Looking forward to this round of Ludum Dare! I'll most likely be using Unity, but beyond that I'll have to see what the theme turns out to be.
My focus will be trying to actually finish the project instead of getting lost in the smaller details. AKA lets go programmer art and buggy gameplay!
There's a first time for everything and this is mine. First Ludum Dare and (fingers crossed) first playable game.
Looks like I have 8 hour shifts every day of the Jam, so I'll be happy with whatever I can do. Vive la quantité sur la qualité!
(No, I'm lying; I am a perfectionist and this will be hard. But I can't wait to see what all of you come up with at the end.)
Tech helping me out:
Models: Sculptris, Blender
Engine: Unity (WebGL)
Textures & Imagery: Photoshop, Illustrator
Sound: Bosca Ceoil, Blue Yeti mic, Audacity
Hardware: old MacBook, new Huion tablet
If you love the Go programming language as much as I do and want to create your game in it, I have some libraries for that in my Github account:
I hope these libraries provide value for fellow Go game programmers :-)

This is a compilation video of all of the Ludum Dare games that I've created over the past five years. I started with Ludum Dare 26 in April 2013, and I've completed 15 straight compo entries since. The video shows gameplay highlights (post-compo version in some cases) along with a portion of the time lapse development.
I might have been little harsh with the slaughtering, but I believe in quality.

Things I slaughtered with little to no thought: * Genre suggestions (Platformer,Racing, etc.) * Mechanics (Match three, RTS, etc.) * Graphics (Pixel Art, Top-Down, etc.) * Variations of last LD themes (More you X the less you Y, Good is Bad, Hard is Easy, etc.) * All duplicates
I am super excited to start covering the upcoming entries for LUDUM DARE 41 on my YouTube channel TEA'S JAMS, make sure to hop on over to my channel and subscribe so you don't miss a single one!
While your there, you can check out the 40+ entries covered for LUDUM DARE 40, maybe you can get some ideas for your game! :D

Wow, just before I was about to post this @shard (most likely below this post) actually slaughtered more than I did (and I thought I was being stupidly strict). I went through some basic criteria before yes'ing or nay'ing such as:
- Avoiding generic themes (Exploration, Simulator etc.)
- Themes which are generic but don't look like it ("Dying is good" <= This is a roguelike)
- Water, Time, Perspective, Travel, Duality, Colours
- Too specific ("Bullets are edible" <= This sounds more like a game than a theme)
- Too generic
- Orders ("Game with less than 300 lines of code")
Anyway, can't wait to scrutinise the themes that ended up making it through (hopefully some of the ones I yes'd make it) and may the theme not suck! (and not be water).
It's been a little while, but I'm in. This time writing in Rust, using ggez.
Other tools? Whatever comes in handy, I expect. I'll probably make a game template based off this.
As you can tell, this game is going to be heckin' classy.
A couple programmer/designer friends of mine and I will be competing our first game jam in 10 short days. We are a group of 2 programmers and 2 artists, all 16 year olds in high school in Phoenix, Arizona, and although we won't be able to take walks to figure out ideas like lots of people (it's already 90+ degrees Fahrenheit here) we are excited to compete!
I'm in!
Who knows what I'll do, but I hope I'll end up making something small and cool with Rust. Would be nice to not use a game engine once in a while.
