Over a year since I was able to do a #LDJAM. Hope I can get back into the swing of it. Construct2 / Bfxr / Aseprite will be tools of choice. Good luck everyone!

I’m in for LD 35

Managed to rearrange schedule, hoping to get a solid concept this time around. Good luck to all the rest of you.

Still deciding on the tools, but I’m in. :)

Since I’m working on Monday, probably aiming for just the 48 hour compo.

Alt Games of Ludum Dare 35

alt games

Hello folks! Do your game design ideas tend to be less of the shoot-shoot-bang-bang variety, and more like the wacky and weird stuff people call Alt Games? Then I hope you join us at our quickie Facebook group: Alt Games of Ludum Dare 35!

Before the jam, you can post short game design ideas based on the final themes. During the jam, you can get inspired by other peoples’ ideas. After it’s over, post links to interesting Alt Games you discover… or made yourself!

This was inspired by Henrike Lode’s microtalk at GDC16:

“I don’t want to make racing games … or fighting, shooting, action, dragon-slaying, strategy games fulfilling default human power fantasies. I go to a lot of game jams and I always run into this problem that most default humans want to make games about silly jokes in oversaturated genres, which of course is normal when you’re just starting out. My ambitions as a designer have completely changed. So I started compiling a list of jam games that no one wants to make with me.”

As a long-time jammer and game dev veteran, this is something I can get behind, with no disrespect to folks just wanting to make a game where stuff blows up real good.

If this interests you, please share on Twitter and Facebook. Thanks!

declaring stuff & first LD for me

Finally gonna take a shot at Ludum Dare

Planning to use my new and still highly experimental/incomplete html5 game library (https://github.com/Brian151/UnNamed-html5-Game-Library) Just spent…a while figuring out how to even get this on github, since I have yet to memorize even the simplest of bash commands.

I may or may not additionally use:https://github.com/Brian151/INI.js

Any graphics will be made with paint dot net

There probably will not be any sounds or music.

I was originally hoping to have at least one other person working with me in a team, but things just didn’t work-out for that to happen. So, I’m going solo.

I’m in for LD35

This is my first Ludum Dare so looking forward to having some fun making a game and streaming development :)

Using Unity for my main development, Photoshop & Pyxel Edit for graphics, BFXR for sound effects & whatever I can find for music :)

I’m in perhaps…maybe…

I’ve barely started trying to game make, so I suppose I’ll give this a shot and likely fail horribly.

You can do it dude! Last Ludum Dare I only had 2 weeks of experience and my entry did pretty well. :)

I’m in the same boat, with very low experience. The thing is, it’s not about the game, it’s about the process and the learning. Have fun, make _something_, and learn! If you do that, you can consider yourself a winner =)
