Here comes the Flyswatter!
Fly away from that strange dude. He is the monster.
A game that uses webcam in a very peculiar way,
revealing the monster within yourself.

… Is finally ready to be played! After long nights, a lot of pizza, a few energy drinks, and a learning curve for some our team members, we present a game with a very long title. Introducing, The Inglorious Yet Highly Stimulating Life of an Underpaid Graduate Student.
Inspired by our net connections cutting out right after the theme was announced and fun times with ISPs’ phone support, we made a game where you provide terrible support to innocent civilians for sweet cash to buy more phones on ePay. You monster.

Point. Click. Provide terrible advice, and don’t get fired. Have fun
This is a game about being a monster who destroys things!
This wasn’t even a game yesterday. I had to pull an all nighter to turn it into something. I think I managed!
Monster Date is the game that believes Monsters deserve love too!
This is my second solo LD! Hooray! My first game was Intergalactic Boy Band Conquest, made with Twine 1.
Went with Twine 2 this time for Monster Date. Which made it super easy to accommodate audio by the outstanding Montgomery Word.
Sorry in advance for the typos! ;*

We introduce you the only monster that doesn’t require a presentation for it sleeps next to you. Now you have the chance to become your worst everyday fear as you slap your host until he wakes up.

We have just submitted our PSYCHOSHARK to Ludum Dare! It is a really simple game, but we got some fails and problems so we could not make all we wanted.
But you can play it if you want! http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=56960
We are impatient to play other entries, we saw amazing things out there. See ya!
Well, after 3 days of illness and a lot of sacrifice we finish our game, “Easter Hunt”
It is just a simple game, we did try. Hope you like it – or not.
You can try it here:
http://gamejolt.com/games/easter-hunt-ld33/88523
Missed out on a few jams but finally got a chance to do one again! Turned out nothing like what was brainstormed, but we finished!
Try it here: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=20961
Game submitted and uploaded. Some minor problems that we couldn’t fix at the last second but what a ride.
You can play the game right here
http://www.kongregate.com/games/cachaguino24/monster
thanks for play!
Finally finished !
What was supposed to be a 48h game turned into a jam entry because of me driking too much beers on saturday.
But you can finally play the game Here
Do you like Draculas? And Surfing? We’ve got just the videogame for you!
SURF MONSTER is according to Wikipedia the 10th ever surfing videogame to date and we sure are happy how it came out. You can catch some totally rad waves (and hopefully no bats) here.
Beardo Games would like to give some special thanks to our good buddy Montgomery Word who provided the music. He’s an amazingly talented dude so go check out the rest of his work here.
It supposed to be a runner.
You are the Monster and you are trying to escape from the lab, nuff said.
This time I’ve tried a Haxe, yep, completely from zero. Found Learn Haxe 3 in 15 minutes and cheat sheet, a tons of samples in flixel-demos repo and viola! Haxe looks awesome.
Late for compo and while it’s not finished, it’s still playable
Well, LD33 was the first Ludum Dare that I entered and wasn’t able to finish. I had a ton of prior commitment and work to get done over the weekend, so instead of stressing in the few hours of free time I had, I just played around with a little prototype instead and had some fun. I’m not going to submit what I’ve made as it hardly qualifies as a game, but overall I’m content with how things went. (Plus I really like the idea so I’m going to keep working on it in secret 😛 ) Hope everyone got what they wanted out of this compo!
See you in December! For real this time!
Finally, we did it. Ahead of time and with fewer bugs….here it is. You take control of a Monster and basically kill, enslave and turn to minions whatever is in your way,

This was my first ever jam.
I started at 8.45am (GMT) and finished 15 minutes ago (1.50am) so it has been an epic day, only stopping for lunch and dinner.
Has it been worth it? Too right!
My game is of course not how I would want it to be, but I am pleased with it in the amount of time available, and hope at least a few people play it all the way through (only takes a few minutes) to fully experience it.
It is called ‘Lifes Decisions’ and goes with a different take on the theme to what many people have gone with. This is about how we look down on bad people and sometimes refer to them as monsters, yet our own decisions can have bad in-direct consequences, are you the monster without realising?
The ludum dare entry: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=56811
Game can be played on Gamejolt: http://gamejolt.com/games/lifes-decisions-ludum-dare-33/88508
Its been fun. Time for bed now. And tomorrow, to enjoy everybody elses work
We took it upon ourselves to try and make something in 3D this time whilst simultaneously learning Unity. Turns out a timed game jam is a bad time to learn new software. Either way we got this little project complete which you can play here [Chamber of the Monster]. We had a lot of fun this Ludum Dare, particularly as I was able to make models instead of just pixel art. The room with the chambers was originally a large hall with 6 rooms, but as a result of a break in the last hours, we were forced to reduce it to a single chamber. You can see some screenshots of the original layout here [1 , 2]. It may not be what we had originally planned, but at least we got something “playable” submitted and still gained the experience.
Here’s to LD34 😀
Wanted it to be a lot more playable, but I’m personally still very happy with it!
Plus, it’s my first Ludum Dare. The submission I worked on can be found here!
The binaries can be found on GameJolt at:
http://gamejolt.com/games/moon-muenster/88535
It’s still buggy, and I will take the next few days to fix up bugs.
After a lot of detective work in Java, I finished my game! It still needs sound, but I finished a version for the jam at least. Enjoy!
http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=24754
Squatchin’ is my first LD entry, and the first game I’ve made that has even approached a finished state.
It’s pretty far short of my original plans, but I had a lot of fun making it, and I learned a lot. Mostly how much I still have to learn 😛 I’ll definitely be jamming again in December.
You can check it and vote for Squatchin’ here: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=56477
I’m looking forward to playing a bunch of fun games tomorrow!
its finally finished the page does not look “amazing” but it works and the game works as well . the games name is I MUST REACH THE VILLAGE but enough said GO PLAY THE GAME stop reading this post and GO PLAY IT
I went for the Jam after all as I needed more time and still didn’t have enough. Missing is audio and more polish, but it’s a real game with win conditions, title and outro screen and all that. I’m happy with the looks, given more time I would have tried fancier shader stuff, but pretty good.
I hope y’all like tank controls and PSOne-style fixed cameras. While used out of necessity, they add to the atmosphere of the game so I’m happy with it, try it! It can get a bit disorienting but it’s a maze in a nightmare! It should be disorienting…
http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=17143
And now I sleep (3am here)
My submission is done, with a cool 7 minutes to go. What an awesome jam it’s been! But now it’s time to rest my brain – it’s produced some pretty horrendous last minute coding hacks that I blame entirely on sleep deprivation and too much classical music.
0G is a game about flying through a space station in zero gravity and piecing things back together after an explosion. It’s a simple exploration and movement game with some narrative and a few bits of randomized danger thrown in. Enjoy!
Play it here.

Ava and Marte reporting in as usual. This time accompanied by two others: Morten and Ida.

We took on a grim theme dear to the four of us, and our hopes is that something will come out of it for those who play it.
Turn on the lights and discover monstrosities in the comfort of your own chair! “Turn on the light” is a psychological feelbad game in 2.5D, with a hint of puzzles.
Perhaps you will discover something about yourself.

And we’re finished!
It was a rough run, but the stuff I learned along the way was invaluable.
What went wrong?
A little bit of over-ambition, and focus in the wrong places, coupled with inability to come up with efficient solutions means a lot of things had to be scrapped for time.
I also skimped on the prep time for this Ludum Dare.
What went right?
During the creation of this entry I came up with lots of ways to make my code more efficient and scripting-friendly.
Where do we go from here?
well, after some much needed R&R compared to the cramming over the past few days, I’m going to return to this project and follow it to true completion. The final product is still very much reachable; It’s just the obstacles that popped up along the way that prevented it.
Well, it was as hard as i thought it will going to be, but i could finish this Game, I learned so much from it, but two thing is sure, i have to dive deep into collision detection, that’s a little fuzzy in the game sometime. And next time i have to manage my time better, cause i don’t have enough time for more levels.
That’s the first game i ever wrote, but i’m gonna learn and make more games.
I hope that my next game will be better.
Thank you LD it was an unforgettable event.
Good resting for everyone.

Second time working with my girlfriend in a Game Project and it was great! Almost killed her but she survived!
We had just 1 day and a half to finish this game, but that’s what we could do for the Jam.
Are you a monster? The idea is to ironize the bad actions that people have day by day like don’t helping old people and don’t throw garbage in right place. (We had other ideas but not the time…)
Play mini-games that get harder and faster!
Have fun! 😀

Thanks to everyone who helped out and good luck to everybody! Already looking forward to next time

It took a lot of work over these last few days, but I managed to complete my game. Feels good to be done.
You play as a color absorbing blob who can split and recombine, through 10 levels.

Here it is for anyone that wants to try it.

This is a game about what it’s like to be a dragon doing your taxes.
When I decided to participate in Ludum Dare I didn’t expect to be spending most of my time dealing with stupid CSS issues. But I think it worked out in the end.
This is my first Ludum Dare.
Pen & paper and/or calculator recommended.
So I’ve been playing through many of the submissions and there have been some really fantastic entries. Well done everyone!
Here are a few of my favourites so far:
Only a Monster would Pop Children’s Balloons!
Also if you haven’t had a chance to check out my first ever LD game, Daylight Blobbery! Please check it out and let me know what you think.
Well, it’s been an interesting LD. I went through the 5 stages of grief and I wrote more unreadable code than I would like to admit! But, after some late-night coding sessions (and procrastination), here it is!

Seriously, it isn’t! It’s a game.

Who needs a day job when you can steal money!?
Trick people into giving you their credit card information, steal all of their money and ruin their lives! It’s all in a days work, you monster.
10Up: Blupp the Gruesome is our newers addition to the astonishing game jam series 10Up. Some people worked hard day and night, they still found time to sleep somehow, to present you:
10Up: Blupp the Gruesome – A turn-based realtime detective thriller for two players in hotseat mode, powerd by Kha!
One player is Blupp the Gruesome, the tragic victim of experiments. At night he is searching for a way home to his water world (see 10Up: Interdimensional Liquids). To achive this goal he must find all parts of the dimension-portal-cannon.
The other player is Mr. S. In his youth he was victim of experiments himself (see 10Up: Mountain Brew). But he still became a valuable part of the 10Up special forces (see 10Up).
After he became aware of the newest experiments of the professor (see 10Up: Unity), he is focused on freeing the others from their fate.
NOTE: It’s important, that the Player of Mr. S does not look at the screen while Blupp the Grousome is playing.
You’re a really mean ghost.
I am sleepy.
I have a headache.
There are probably blatant things I’ve screwed up.
Have fun, future me, because it’s 2:30!
Please check out Vindictae here!
Many thanks,
Taha
Game is finished!
You know who is the real monster?! The one who spoils your favorite TV-series! Or the one, who throw away jar from Nutella while it’s not crystal clear! Or maybe who cuts pizza in squares… And now even you can be that guy! Play this game to be a real Monster!!

After much deliberation, we finally decided on an idea, and uploaded the cute rampage of Fuzzball for the world to laugh at.
Have a go, it’s good, we swear
This is the first Ludum Dare that I’ve participated in and I’ve had heaps of fun. Even though I worked alone and my game is complete rubbish, it’s the journey that counts.
My game can be played here: http://postmortem-games.itch.io/dream-eater
I knew I was gonna have fun with this theme. :3
Crunch!!! An Interplanetary Meal Trip puts you behind the wheel of a planet-eating eldritch horror. I’d explain more, but instead I’ll leave you all with this sweet screenshot of a truly gibtacular exploding planet:
Enjoy!
The world must hate me. My internet crashed right at the submission hour and it only just came back up. I don’t know if I’ll be able to upload it in time with my current internet speed….
Just in time!
My submission for this LD Jam(Working with ????, the same artist behind Duck, Jump, Die) is ‘Not Enough Souls’, a wave-based combat survival game in which you must battle various enemies and kill the innocent villagers to steal their souls (which plays the part of your HP).
The game, while not as glorious as I originally wanted it to be, is still full of hectic fast pace combat action and moment to moment bullet-hell decisions.
So what are you waiting for?
We’re back with one more post – to Congratulate those entering the Jam competition!
Remember: If you are interested in enter your (or someone else’s game) into our LD to Believe Showcase, here is the entry form:
In the form you’ll notice we have 5 lines available for submission! If you have more than 5 games to submit, simply refresh the document and submit again!

and SEASON 4
Good luck! And look forward to the premiere of Ludum Dare to Believe this Thursday!
-Button Masher Bros.
Just wondering, as I’ve never done a Ludum Dare before. I have a partially-functioning prototype with no win or lose condition, just a bunch of trains running around on tracks. So, should I submit it or just leave it out?
Phew… It has been three days working hard on this.
As it was my first LD (and JAM) I wanted to do something special and different dedicated to all game developers and at last I decided to create a funny story with some action.
Anyway, I’m proud to end the game. I hope you enjoy it and have fun!

Sooo great, we finished.
Was hard, many problems, but something so great get out of it.
Rock with the massacration monster!

In time, the .apk to the game since we started it for mobile:
This was my second Ludum Dare and it was a ton of fun. I had a lot more fun with this theme than “An Uncoventional Weapon”, though that was fun, too. Tomorrow, I’ll kick back and play a bunch of games and rate them. For now, go Eat Humans!

Hey hey! Looking for a cool game to play so that you can get your cool new Jam entry onto the frontpage?
Why not have a go at Monstering Monsters?
I think we had fun..
Hi there fellow jammers !
We finished our game just in time for our first LD together.
The four of us had a great time all along, the start was difficult with a reboot at the end of the first day but we managed to stay on track and went with an easier concept and are mostly pleased witht the result.
We present to you Doppelhunger. An Arcade game in wich you play an undercover monster within a group of innocent humans, your goal is to manage when to transform between two forms to eat the maximum of people.
The human form lets you be incognito within the mass. You can then walk away safely from the authorities and look for the next targets. Though you cannot resist the urge to eat for too long, when the hunger jauge is full you’ll have to turn into a monster.
In monster form you can eat people by hitting them and dash to them to quickly end their life and appease your hunger. Eating is the only way you can get back in human form and therefore in security.
We hope you’ll like it and that you also had a great LD33!

Wooh, cutting it close! Finally finished and submitted my game! Not all wanted features got in, and it might lack a bit of polish, but oh well, it’s better than not entering at all!
Check it out here! http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=33660
If you’re reading this, you’ve hopefully submitted your game already! And that’s awesome!
Unfortunately, I won’t be crossing the finish line with you. For a first time LD and game jam, though, I think I did pretty okay! I tried to use a framework and language that I was unfamiliar with, so a lot of my time was spent learning and troubleshooting, and also trying to make assets that didn’t look like poop. At the end of the day, I don’t think I was in the right mindset for tackling a game jam, which is a harsh lesson I learned when I woke up at 12pm today expecting to get a lot of work before submission, ahaha.
I’m looking forward to LD34!
Here’s a relic of a dream long lost.
If you want to try out Sales of a Deathman (I can’t resist a dumb pun),
Sales of a Deathman is finally finished and submitted. This is my first game I’ve ever finished and the first jam I’ve ever participated in. This entire experience has been so much fun.
I didn’t want to take the theme too literally, so I went for a different type of monster.
My wife Danielle did all the art, having never done pixel art ever before. I think she did great:
And now, I’m ready to spend the next few days reviewing all of your hard work. I’ve been too busy this weekend to pay as much attention to everyone else’s projects as I would have liked to.
We took our time and shrank out team a bit in order to create an old-school action rpg for this round of Ludum Dare – a jam entry all in grey.
In the game, you play a mercenary trapped in the catacombs in the land of a terrible Duke in a dark fantasy world. Your only hope is to survive other prisoners and escape to reclaim your good name and prove that YOU ARE NOT THE MONSTER. Ha!
We had a great time and it flew by way too fast – with too little sleep and many bug hunts.
Now we’re looking forward to making a post-jam version and rating other awesome Ludum Dare games!
Thanks for a great time, this community is pretty much amazing!
Zevy’s Puzzlers is about a brainiac that solves puzzlers in order to escape the school and get back home. Kazaguruma and Sokoban challenges Jenius is adept at solving… but are you? This is my official project for Ludum Dare33. I hope you enjoy the game! Please note that the opening screen image I did not create, but all the other images I did create. Thanks! (I’m reuploading my game to my website. Thanks! )
I worked on this by myself. The only thing I did not do, was the audio itself. I enjoy puzzler games, so I worked feverishly on getting something unique that isn’t as well known. I chose Kazaguruma puzzle because it is very rare. It plays like Sudoku. Sokoban puzzles are also a bit fun but challenging to create correctly so that it is playable.
Game system: VX Ace.
Food: Noodles & Company, Mexican Rice Spaghetti, tons of water, and Snapea Crisps.
Nothing pithy to say, so I’ll end it here. Please rate my game. Thanks!
After a big deal of effort, we made it at least! Don’t hesitate to try “Drunkula”, a puzzle adventure where you’ll have to prevent a drunk vampire from killing himself as well as guide him back to his coffin.

Hello, I’d like to present to you my game, “Squashed”. It’s a game where you… flatten people. Yeah.
You can of course play it here (please do so): http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=36983
After 2 hours of absolute madness, we can submmited the game. But we listened to Arthur Dent and: don’t panic!

Even though I submitted this to the jam, I could only work on it for 2 days, because I was visiting a museum last Saturday. I got a lot done, but the level is lacking and the controls might not be the best. But I’m still happy with what I got.
Feel free to give suggestions on what should go into this game.
Twitter: @Jishenaz
I really hope one of these days i’ll try to make a simple game because i keep failing to submit complete game.
It’s kind of embarassing here since it’s an investigation game and it’s still lacking it’s endings but i’ll fix that soon in post-compo.
Anyway good work everyone, i can’t wait to try your games, after some sleep.
Not as good as I’d hoped – ran into innumerable bugs getting units to work, and couldn’t finish the AI, UI or any sound at all. Nonetheless, the actual gameplay is there and while a bit buggy, it works.

To late for the compo, but n8b cthulhu fhtagn is in the jam.
I have fixed the final score bug, and i have credited Stencyl and Gimp in the opening screen. But i cannot solve the fullscreen mode.

Well, almost, because sadly and against our will, our game is not completely finished.

But, we need to say that, for a 24 hour game, looks very nice. It’s weirdly fun and with some improvements can be a good minigame.

We’d love for you will play it and tell us what you thought.
Our submission Virion Alpha puts you in the hotseat as a virus, playing against the hosts immune system. Overwhelm the defenses, or wait in silence for their threat to pass. Please rate, and leave us constructive comments/criticism! 😀

Every time I do a jam (this is #3) I say “there’s no way I’m doing this again” all throughout the jam.
But when you finally finish it, you get an energy high like no other. The “I just made this pretty good game in 72 hours” high (or 48 for you hardcore compo folks, huge respect to ya for that.)
I mean, literally the first 10 hours I didn’t have a team. I had went to a Ludum Dare Kickoff Party and wasn’t able to get a single person to sign on. So I decided ‘well I’ll do it myself’ and made some simple MSX looking sprites all the while searching my friends list and every channel I could think of for a late-entry teammate. Sure enough, Troisynx, a friend of mine, signed on and we were off. She got her friend MXW to join in and we ended up just running with the MSX theme. MXW even bitcrushed EVERYTHING to make it sound more authentic. So yea, those aren’t crappy recordings, they’re good recordings that we destroyed 😛
Huuuge thanks to the HaxeFlixel, OpenFl, and Haxe team for all their work. Being able to do this in Flixel-speed with incredibly similar (but better) syntax to AS3 AND being able to publish multiplatform was amazing. I’m still using HaxeFlixel on my ‘big game’ too, and it’s thanks to these amazing guys putting in endless hours that this stuff happens.
Anyways.
I really hope we were able to present something unique and you’ll enjoy playing our game c:
Hi, I want to embed my game on the page but I don’t know how to do it.
Can someone help me please?
I submitted my game right at the end of the submission hour. This has been my most hectic jam yet!
I had a lot of fun making Hymn of the Sages, play, rate, and enjoy it!
http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=38755

Submit it just in time. GalaxyHop ENTRY
Local two player game. You flick cut little critters and try to clear the board.
Play with your friends, parents, kids.
We hope you enjoy the game!
I always wanted to make a game for LD but somehow it always eluded me. But not this time.
Which is a great feeling. In 72 hours we (an artist friend of mine and me) made a game with unity from scratch. It is actually better than I expected it will be. Especially that this is my first unity project, luckily it has plenty of tutorials all over the net. All in all, our reverse-dungeon hack-and-slash is done. I’m going for a (non eternal) rest now. Post mortem later.
Well I didn’t finish. Did submit though.
I ended up shifting my game about 3/4 of the game through, when I realized I woulnd’t finish what I originally planned.
Defiantly going to keep working on it however, I really like the Drag/Drop UI I created, I’ll make sure I post the code for that.
Looking forward to playing games alot better than mine!
Alright alright alright!
My game is done.
I present to you: Dark Howl
A 2D platformer in which you play as a werewolf trying to kill people.
I made this in unity. The art, sound and music were also made by me.
A little bit about the game:
The game is unpolished and not very visually appealing, BUT it has a lot of content (10 levels people!) because I spent a whole day designing the levels instead of working on the other aspects. Overall, I’d call this one a success, unlike my previous Ludum Dare where something happened and I didn’t submit anything. This was my second LD and my first successful one and I hope it won’t be the last. I will definitely participate again in the future and I might even try entering the compo next time!
Meanwhile, you can play, rate and have fun slicing people in half here.

Hey!
Come over here and play the most moving and vicious game of Ludum Dare 33.
It involves lots of combat and exploration.
Our previous game was monochrome, silent and turn based, but this game is full of strange imagery and sound and is really fast-paced.
I hope you enjoy it.
Wow. We’ve finished our #LDJAM with an hour to spare. BUTT (see what we did there?) we were really tired for writing a longer post (gifs, screenshots, initial ideas, etc.). So what now?
Let’s Go Monster Streaking!

Cheers, everyone!

Our first LDJam went better than expected! We couldn’t get the game to the state we really want during the LD, but we’re continuing development, and will soon release the full game.
“Let me introduce myself: I’m Jesse Capone and i will be your storyteller, and this is story is pretty much about me. I know, i know, narcissist and egocentric, everybody tells me that. I don’t care, i really am all of this. Don’t get me wrong, i’m just all i have, so, a man gotta do what it have to do to survive in the streets of this city.” – He’s a monster, isn’t he? >:D
Hope you like the visuals and sound. Also, thank you PoV for the LD! We can’t wait for the next one! :3
