LD33 August 21–24, 2015

I’m half in maybe..?

This might be my second Ludum Dare, cant aim for the top 100 games this time as have “pre-exams” that just HAD to be on now of all times… So I may spend just one day instead of the full time allowed. Or who knows, I may just screw my last exam and do this. We shall see.

Using

  • Engine – Game maker Studio OR Game maker 7 (for the indie feels)
  • Music  – Beepbox (http://www.beepbox.co/) OR Bosca Ceoil
  • Sound effects – BFXR

Good luck to all!

5th time around.

Keeping things extremely light this time. I spent way too much time last Jam on art, and not enough time on a fun mechanic.

Editor: Sublime Text 3

Language: JavaScript / HTML

Frameworks/Libraries: NONE

Graphics: Native HTML if not text only

Sounds: Bfxr

@hypothete

I’m in.

This will be my first Ludum Dare. I don’t expect to make anything amazing, but I do hope to have lots of fun. Also, thanks Jeviny for making me want to do this.

Framework: Love2D

Editor: Sublime Text 3

Sounds: bfxr

Music: DuncsAlgoMusic (type a name, generates music) or Pixitracker

Graphics: Paint.net

Apparently this is a requirement.

This will be my first game. Maybe it’ll exist.

My toolset

Gamemaker Studio

bfxr

It’s not actually a requirement. We just do it. I don’t even know why. It probably started in the first LD. Does any more experienced dev know why we do this?

it’s just nice to see how others prepare !

i like to see this excitement building up before the jam.

Also sometimes allows to discover interesting tools or libraries

A new challenger approaches!

This will by my teams first go at a game jam. Best of luck!

  • Engine – Phaser
  • Music  – Don’t know yet.
  • Sound effects – Don’t know yet.
  • Graphics – Photoshop and Spriter

Now, only if we could find a sound guy 😛

I’m in

Well  this will be my first time here.

So far, I know I’ll be using C++ and SDL and some tools like bfxr, GIMP, Inkscape and maybe Rosegarden

School ends on Thursday. Friday, I JAM!

I’m in.

I might try to go 48 hours straight this time. Last time I did 30.

I also might try to set realistic goals (ツ)

I might try streaming on Twitch or something, too.

Good luck to all, and have fun!

It’s been awhile, but I’m back!

I’ve missed joining these compos. I’ve skipped a few as they had bad timing with my classes, but luckily my final is on Thursday, so I’m free to go all out this weekend.

Engine: Unity

Language: C#

Modeling: Blender

Textures / Art: Gimp

SFX: BFXR, microphone, and Audacity

Music: TBD

I’ll make sure I do something for music this time around, my last entry felt so empty without any sound.

http://www.beepbox.co/  This actually looks promising if I end up doing something retro, otherwise I will most likely use a generator like cg music.

I’m In….again

Already posted an I’m in before I was up with the times on how to actually do one.

First Ludum Dare here and I’ve been really excited for the past week!

I plan to use some variation the following tools:

ENGINE

  • Unity (possibly using WebGL)

Graphics

  • GIMP
  • Photoshop
  • Paint.NET

Sounds/Music

  • FL Studio
  • Audacity
  • Bfxr

Languages

  • C#
  • Javascript

IDE\Editor

  • Visual Studio 2012
  • Sublime
  • MonoDevelop

Hope to have a great time and learn a lot from everyone. Can’t wait to see what everyone makes!

Sorry not sorry about the subtle Javascript jab 😛

First time in a Ludum

We’re a team, and it’s our first time in a Ludum.

Don’t know how is it going to be, but we hope to have fun and learn a lot.

Any tips for the newbies?

Thanks in advance ^^

I’m In!

Wasn’t able to do #32 because I was moving, but I’m all settled in Seattle and ready to compo away! Here’s what I’m planning on using this time –

  • Squidlegs – custom game framework that uses ES6 Javascript
  • Photoshop, Pixen, and Asesprite for graphics
  • Audio is a thing – Audaciousity? Is that a program?
  • Atom for coding

Can’t wait!

Let’s do this

Decided to participate no matter what this weekend. So – in order to learn a bit and have some fun – I looked into some new tools and engines, and found PlayCanvas to be pretty cool. Basically a Unity-like hierarchy in Javascript, powered by WebGL and HTML5 <canvas>.

thingSo I decided to make this thing yesterday to test it out. It’s pretty cool how much you can do in 30 minutes. (Try it out here.)

Looking forward to it this weekend. I’m not much of a 3D modeler, but I know the basics of Cinema 4D so this will be fun. I’ll be streaming and Tweeting my progress as I go.

You know what… can you work remotely?

I’m in

This is going to be my 2nd LD. This time I’ll make a game just by myself, solo, in a dark little room 😀

I’ll use Unity, GraphicsGale, Paint.NET and I am going to make a timelapse video.

So excited!

I’m in

This will be my first Ludum Dare. I will probably fail but i am realy excited. Because of my limited skills i will stick to what i know a little: 2d and pixel art. My goal is to finish the game. It’s a bonus if it doesnot suck :-)

My Tools:

  • Engine: Unity
  • Language: C#
  • IDE: Visual Studio 2015
  • Graphics: Pyxel Edit
  • Sounds: Mic + Audacity, BFXR
  • Music: Hmm…no idea.

Maybe i will stream it at www.twitch.tv/Meursault77.

Pickle Jam

So this time, Leblane and I will do the Jam, rather than just LD by myself.

We will use Löve2d, I’ll do gfx in SwankyPaint, and from there, we’ll just see what develops.

I am not 100% sure where the heck we’ll be actually working, and I have an interruption 12 hours into the jam, so… yes! this will be fun to time manage, and that always is a challenge for me anyway.

Anyway, let’s see how it goes (:

Let’s do it

Oh god no…

Chain Reaction(I’m sure this was the theme for a mini ld)
A Map Will Be Useful

You are the Monster(this is like the one in Ld24?)
Expanding World(what should I do in this?)
Asymmetric(ಠ_ಠ)
Death is Not the End(just more lame)
Multiple Layers(Really?)
It Was Not Supposed to Work Like That(who cares?)
Connections(connected worlds?)
Work Together(no way!I am not gonna code the A.I)
OF course these are just my thoughts!

Eh, I actually wouldn’t mind the “A map will be useful” theme, but then again, we’ll have a lot of games that are very similar, so… Yeah, despite having some ideas for that one theme, I agree on everything (heck, you’re comment on the You are the Monster theme was pretty much my initial thoughts on it).

we’re IN

:3 :3 coupon and Coup3tt3 ar3 3nt3ring our 1st Ludum Dar3!

Hi all,

I will do my best to give a try to this, if I get a good idea for the theme, and some time to code a game.

Of course this will be my first attempt at Ludum Dare.

I just discovered jAllegro and will use this as framework.

For graphics, mspaint & gimp

For sounds.. Hum I never create sounds yet.. I have still some days to learn. May be I can record some sounds made with my mouth ?

I used to code my own game framework for IBM 4GL language, but this will not be useable for ludum dare as almost nobody has an AIX server to run such a game :-)
