everything’s fine on my end
everything’s fine on my end
A long time ago I’ve tried to participate but due to time constraints I never finished the game. The next few Ludum Dares were always on a bad date, but surprisingly this weekend it looks like that I’ve the whole weekend for myself!
As usual I’ll be using C++ and SFML. But since starting from scratch can be quite time consuming I’ll be cooking up some SmallGameFramework before the Compo starts and then during the Jam build on top of that. Join me while I’m streaming the whole process of building the SmallGameFramework: YouTube Live Stream
My main tools for now will be:
From time to time, I’ll certainly make use of:
In addition to SFML, I might make use of:
If you want to stay in touch with my adventure, make sure to checkout:
So, I’m in! I’ve asked a few friends to help on the art/music side of things and it sounds like they’re going to help. I’ll be using GameMaker Studio(Because it’s free and I know how to use it.) for the engine, probably Paint.net for graphics, and most likely Audacity for audio. Gonna mess with some tools today and we’ll see if anything changes. Can’t wait to see the theme. Have some IRL things to do so I won’t be working 72 hours straight. Guess I’ll have to work extra hard.
Tl;Dr: I’m in!!!
Not sure why this is necessary at all even, but I’m in YAY 😀 We have a venue and about 10 people jamming, should be fantastic
My friend and I are going to participate in the jam.
We’re in
Tools-
Game Maker
Pyxel Edit
Ableton Live
Pizza
Love you!
@chargeshotgame
I will most likely be doing a web build – either my own framework or QuintusJS. Other tools will be Pixelmator and AudioTool.com.
This is going to be fun!
Jared from Tastes like Future! Games here, I’m happy to say that I’ll be participating in my second ever Ludum Dare this weekend. Woot!
Tools I’ll likely be using this go ’round:
-Unity (and all the juicy new features recently made available)
-Photoshop/After Effects
-Garageband
-Blender
-Metaio AR (if applicable- hopefully the theme will allow me to explore developing game content in AR)
Good luck to all participating! Last year was tons of fun, with plenty of awesome entries in both the compo and the jam. I’ll be trying to do some livecasting, but if last LD was any indication, my current machine might not be able to handle it. I’ve heard of some nifty timelapse software, so I might play around with trying some of that out.
For me this is the first ludum dare, and to be honest.. I’m not a graphical artist.
That being said, we’re in for the jam! I’m going to program a complete game from scratch,
my mate is going to do all the graphical side stuff.
I hope that we can make it, although I can’t finish the 72 hours as I’ve school monday and that the event starts 3am over here…
Well, I wish everybody a great time and a lot of fun!
Language: Java
IDE: Eclipse
Graphics: probable photoshop
System requirements: anything.
Have a great time and good luck everyone!
Greetings,
Tripl3Fac3

After failing miserably in the last Ludum Dare, I am back with a vengeance, and this time I WILL be victorious, and I WILL submit a game to the compo… at least… I hope so.
Being (fairly) new to serious programming, I thought last time that I could learn and create at the same time. Didn’t quite pan out the way I had hoped, and I got stuck on trivial things over and over. Didn’t really help that the theme was “Entire Game On One Screen” since I wanted to do my first 3d game… but, the complaints on that theme have been plentiful already, so I won’t go there (didn’t I already?).
This time, I’ve done my homework – and while I fully expect to hit quite a few roadblocks along the way, I truly believe I can overcome these and really present something this time. Don’t expect any fireworks… but… well – just wish me luck!

Looks like I’m going to take part in the compo again this year! I’ll wake up at 4AM and start working!
My toolset:

I just found out LD32 is this weekend so I’m not prepared at all, just trying to have fun and make a game that can be played from beginning to end :).
I hope ill have some time this weekend to submit some game. Please vote nice so i wont have the same problem as always – what my game should be about?!
This time i want to try something new and i dont mean beers. Im fed up with pixel games in unity, i think i will try some javascripts.
Good luck!
Hello, and welcome to Ludum Dare 32! This is our first event of 2015, and our 13th year Ludum and Daring.
Without further ado, lets do what you came here to do:
Click the image above to Vote for Ludum Dare 32’s Theme! The highest rated theme will be revealed on Friday April 17th at 9:00 PM EDT (6:00 PM PDT, or Saturday 01:00 UTC). Don’t know when that is? Click this handy link here for your local timezone, or observe the countdown clock above.
Results from Rounds 1-4 are here.
There are A LOT of them this time. If you haven’t checked out the list, click here.
By request, we’ve now added support for streaming newcomer Beam. That means you have 4 choices for places to share your development. Pick your favourite, and start broadcasting! Set your game to “Ludum Dare“.
Also! Mac and Linux users! OBS is now cross platform! Add cool borders layouts to your Live Streams!
As of Chrome 42 (released April 14th), Unity Player, Java, and Silverlight games will no longer work in Chrome (i.e. NPAPI plugins). There is a clumsy user workaround, but you might seriously want to take a look at the HTML5 export found in Unity 5 instead.
Also FYI: Unity Player has never worked on Linux. Just saying. 😉
I actually added this last Ludum Dare, but didn’t mention it: You can now embed your web games on your game page. Embeds are currently limited to any size equal-to or below 900×600 pixels. The limit is due to the current website layout. If you need more than that, you should offer to full-screen your game.
Deals, Assets, Wallpapers and more! Click the buttons below the countdown clock for more.
We actually released the keynote early (last week). In case you missed it, Sol_HSA challenged you to try something new. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Here it is again:
Our friends at the Button Masher Bros made this OUTRAGEOUS Ludum Dare themed comedy video… err… I mean Historically Accurate Documentary on Ludum Dare *cough*. Contains profanity.
That’s all for now. Go vote!!

I’m in for my second Ludum Dare, depending on the theme; if it is one where it takes me half the weekend to come up with a good idea, I might not; that’s what happened on my first Dare. While I did complete a game, it wasn’t finished enough and it certainly was not that much fun to build, and fun is what this is supposed to be about.
Finally got this damn posting thing to work.
My strategy this time is to have two different platforms. One for 2D games, another for 3D.
For 2D my plan is to use GIMP 2 with Construct 2.
For 3D, I’ve gotten creative. My plan is to make a doom mod. I’ll be using IWAD editors like XWE and SLADE to implant files and models into a stripped Doom (Or freedoom) IWAD. Then I can use Doom Builder 2 to build and script levels using the textures I implanted into XWE. Due to the low resolution graphics, I decided to use something a bit old (If I still have the disk laying around that is). I plan on using Visual Studio 2003 for all graphical design, due to it’s decent bitmap editor.
Everything will be done in a Windows XP or 2000 or 98 (Or 2000 AND 98) Virtual Machine, to allow for livestreaming and full compatibility with my IWAD editors, and doom it’s self.
I have been in a couple of jams. This will be my first time joining the Ludum Dare.
I’m Pretty much the guy that use UE4, Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop.
And I’m also Stream on twitch. ( http://www.twitch.tv/jvthewanderer )
First time entering and cant wait. Gonna be using Unity (Coding in c#), Blender and Gimp for any art work and FL for sound.
This will be my first LD (and im very excited).
I will use Uninty (C#), Gimp and Blender.
I hope I can make it. My first complete game.
I will even take off monday. Missed the last LD but I was so impressed by a lot of games coming out of it, that I just want to give it a try. My expectations are low, though. I just want to finish something in 2 days and reflect on it. Finding the right scope might be the hardest part for me.
I did stuff with PhaserJS and LibGDX and although I really enjoy messing around on rather low levels and iterating over toolkits, it‘s time for an engine now. I chose Unity for its huge amount of docs and tutorials and what I saw until now, was totally fun to use (except for the weird naming conventions of its scripting API).
Tools: Unity, Sublime Text 3, Sunvox, Audacity, Inkscape, Paint.Net
Have fun! I‘m looking forward to a ton of good games to play
All right 7th Ludum Dare!
I’m going to use the Jmonkeyengine because we’re supposed to try something new.
Using Paint.NET and Audacity and this little adapter thing I bought for my computer to record sounds from the electric guitar I have.
Let’s have another fun weekend!
