LD32 April 17–20, 2015

In in in

Hey all.

I’ve been in several jams so far and always have been super happy with anything I came up with.
Right now I’m kind of in a programming dip since my work isn’t that exciting.
Joining the jam again will allow me to spark that flame of fun again in developing a game.
I feel I really need a boundry/restriction and I always get that with the theme.

This time I hope I can focus on core gameplay without spending too much time on hard, headbreaking issues I put onto myself.

Stuff I’ll probably gonna use:

  • Unity 5
  • Visual Studio 2012
  • Audicity
  • SFXR
  • Photoshop

Can’t wait to get into this thing again :)

Good luck to all and have fun!

I’m in again!

I’m going to participate for the fourth time in Ludum dare. I’m so excited! :) This will probably be the last time I use my own C++ engine. Next Ludum dare I will probably use Unreal Engine 4 or libGDX. But here is the list of stuff I’m going to use:

Programming language: C++

IDE: Visual Studio Express 2013

Engine: SchoolEngine

Art & textures: GIMP & Paint.NET

Sound: Bfxr

Music: Abundant-Music

Ludum dare is always such a special event to me. I can’t wait to get started. Good luck everyone!

I’m in!

This will be my second Ludum Dare.  I spent a lot of the last one trying to write the under laying code in java and I got a long way towards reaching a usable game but not enough to post an entry.  This time round i’ll be using unity and have the whole week booked off to brush up on unity before the big event begins! cant wait to see what is produced! 😀

kitch and son is in, and you won’t believe what happens next!

Very excited to be in again.  This is my 5th (non-consecutive) ludum dare over the last few years and really looking forward to it.

Tools planned for this expedition:

  • Language: HaxeFlixel
  • Platform(s) : Web/Windows/Mac/Linux/All THE THINGS!!! (Because I can)
  • Artwork : Photoshop
  • Music : FlStudio
  • Sound : FlStudio, bfxr, audacity

And to make things a little more interesting and fun, my son has decided he wants to take part this time as well.  He didn’t want to work with me in the jam, he wanted to do the compo…

by himself…

in 48 hours…

by himself…

He’s 8…

So… we’ve been over this a number of times… a number of a number of times…  and I’m convinced he understands exactly what this entails.  I’ve seen him make games.  So… at this point I see no point not to let him just go for it…

Tools he’ll be using for this expedition:

  • Language: Scratch
  • Platform(s) : Web
  • Artwork : Paint.net and Scratch
  • Sound : Scratch and his microphone

We’ll both be in the Compo, and right next to each other, and plan to stream all the shenanigans and goings on.

Good luck to everyone!  And may the theme selected be the one you’re banking on!

Love,

Ross

We’re Back and Ready to Jam!

We had such a fun time making our last LD game we thought we’d come back for another Jam. We’ll be bringing a few more friends this time, so we may end up breaking into two small groups to have double the fun!
Our tools:

Unity+C#, Paint.net/GIMP/Blender

Good luck everyone!

I’m in!

I’m in for my 3rd time! Most likely doing the compo again.

Introduction & Let’s do this!

Hi! jacklify85 here for the first time. I’m relatively new to game development and I haven’t ever completed or released a game. I’ve only ever done prototypes, so this should be interesting. I’m going to see if I’m capable of hitting the compo’s 48 hour deadline as being a student I only have the weekend free [well, not totally. :( ]. I’m looking forward to doing this all with you.

Programming Language: Java

Library: LibGDX

Graphics: Paint.NET, Aesprite or some related program

Music: Little guitar recordings hopefully, and maybe a music generator.

Sound Effects: sfxr and whatever I can come up with messing around in Audacity.

Target platforms: Definitely desktop and hopefully the web if I can get it configured in time. If I have the time, I’ll probably put up an Android version. I don’t have the resources to compile for iOS (no mac, no dev license).

Source Code: All code hosting will be done on github, which you can view my profile at here

If anything, I’m under-prepared, but we’ll see what I can do!

Awesome! Welcome to the club and good luck!

Soo… it looks like we’re in! :)

Hello everyone! We’re a couple of game developer enthusiasts facing our first Ludum Dare this weekend. We’re pretty excited about this even if we still don’t know how far we will get. Of course our intention is to release something before the deadline even if it’s a crappy game :D.

This are the tools I’ll be using as developer:

– Unity3D + MonoDevelop

– GIMP for speed graphic editing

My friend will do all the art. If nothing changed he will probably use GraphicsGale for glorious pixel art and animations.

Also I talked to other friends to make original music and effects but I don’t think they gonna show up :P. So probably we are going to use free music and effect assets from the web.

That’s all for the moment, happy dev and see you on saturday guys :).

Sonderworks is in!

We’re a group that has been together for a couple months, currently working on our first major game. Personally, it’s the first time I’ve worked with a devoted group of people, and it certainly makes some aspects a lot easier. I’ve only participated in the previous mini (MiniLD58) as a test run, and this will be the first LD for all of us. It’ll be the ultimate test to see how well we do together on a project, from start to finish, and it’s looking like it’ll be an awesome experience!

IDE / Language : Unity3D / C#
Art : Photoshop, GIMP, and possibly MSPaint
Music : Ableton
Sound Effects : Audition / Audacity / SFXR

In addition to this, I intend to enter the Compo by myself, so I’ll essentially be making two games in three days… Oh boy. :)

Looking forward to the weekend!

First timer – I’m in

Hi everyone! This will be my first Ludum Dare. Not sure what to expect. Hopefully, I can put out something great! I’m really interested in your feedback.

Tentative Tools: EaselJS, FLStudio, Audacity, MMD, Photoshop, GIMP, Bfxr

Ogre Pixel is in the house!

Hello, hello! I’m glad to announce this time Ogre Pixel will be participating in the Ludum Dare Jam! this is the first time we are participating in a Game Jam so we are very excited to start doing what we love… make a game! =D

See you around and happy ludum dare!

Happy daring sounds a bit better. Happy jamming? I don’t know!

I’m in

My last post was an “I’m in” post. Though I wasn’t in for some reason…
This time I’m full of confidence that I will make it. No matter that I’ll have only one day for it (well, I still can do the Jam).

Will be focused on graphics and sounds.

Well be using:

* JavaScript
* PIXI.js
* SunVox
* GIMP
* Probably something else but it is the core.

See you soon.

It begins again

I’m in for my 6th Ludum Dare and I am going to change it up a bit and use an OpenGL based library instead of my scratch Java one.

Language: Java
IDE: Eclipse
Library: LibGDX
Art: Gimp

I will be streaming as usual over at Twitch.tv/Turkey2349 and new this year I will also be over on Beam as well at Beam.pro/Turkey.

That’s all I got for now! Are you ready?

Premortem (LD32)

I’m sick of the “I’m in” posts, and I’m also sick of the people trying to be clever with their “I’m in” posts, but I’m less sick of that latter group, so I’m joining it.

Tools:

  • Unity3d, but with a hint of 2D… I’ll find out exactly how when the theme’s announced.
  • C Hashtag for coding (It’s a good thing it’s not really called that, isn’t it? It sounds really, really stupid.)
  • GIMP for sprites/textures/whatever
  • Blender [+ possibly a bit of Sketchup] for modeling
  • Clarinet for composing (an actual clarinet, that’s not the name of software or anything)
  • Magix Music Maker for sound editing/mixing/generating
  • BFXR? Maybe?

I’ll be gone for quite a bit of the first day, but I’m determined to have a final product this time around – perhaps not a great product, but something at least.

(A slightly belated) I’m in!

Hi folks,

It’s that time again and, after foregoing the previous LD, I’m in for this one. My weapons of choice are the usual:

  • Unity, with MonoDevelop, writing in C# (because you’re doing it wrong if you’re doing it in JavaScript)
  • Graphics will be 2D, using a mixture of Paint.NET and the lovely PyxelEdit.
  • As for sound, I’m sure I’ll find something relatively appropriate, sfxr is always handy, but I’d like to try and stretch my creative legs a bit more here.

Also, I’m helping to host a small real world gathering for members of our university game dev society, so there will be two things to juggle! Given this will only be my second LD, I think I’ve got quite the challenge ahead of me.

Here’s hoping it goes well and best of luck to everyone else!

Hey Guys,

I’m NOT in

hm yeah well I’m busy for that entire weekend, so unless I can crank out something Sunday evening/Monday morning (in Australia the compo ends in the middle of Monday) there will be no game from me!!

I would quite like to pump out a little 1 hour thing though. We’ll see.
