Snapshot 2 — Gameplay!

snapshot-2-gameplay1

Finally got some gameplay going!
To put in perspective, this took me the entire steam train “skyrim” series to complete.

Hey All! MLD #49 YOU BET!

Hey guys!

Just wanna say I’m in!
I’ve been looking forward to this one (not to mention the other ones ofc)

Tools I’ll be using
>>Eclipse (Java)
>>Sublime Text (programming notepad)
>>Adobe Photoshop (Art and all that)
>>FL studio (music)
>>Chronolapse (great tool, to timelapse you making the game)

Good luck all!
😀

WOOW! I’m in guys!

I’m Pumped!

As per usual i will be using:

GM8

Aseprite

Tiled (Maybe)

SFXR

AutoTracker-bu

GoTile

I will be using Brod’s Platform Engine and will also be testing my new menu system called the “Flatgub Menu System” (i know, i’m so creative ^o^)

anyway, see you guys again once i’ve got something to show!

-Flatgub

Let’s do this!

Allright, im ready and motivated. Let’s go make games!

However, this time is going to be different. Want to know why? No? Well to bad, im telling you anyway! >:D

During all the past Ludum Dare’s I have been programming in Java (with and without extended libraries).
This time however, I will be using Unity. The reason for this is that I will be doing a practice work at a local games company which mainly/only uses Unity. I have been playing around with it earlier, but never gotten around to doing a real project in it. Seeing as Ludum Dare forces you to learn fast or go home, this is a perfect oppurtuniy for me to delve into the “modern” games developing that is Unity.

For all of you who are still reading (thanks by the way), this is the rest of the traditional tools list:

Sound: Audacity (just gonna record myself doing different sounds and tweak it).
Music: FL Studio 11.
Graphics: Paint dot net.
Beverage of choice: Coffe.
Eyecolor: Blue.
Meaningless filler text: Check.
Doge: very.
Stop typing text: Yes.

If I will be able to dedicate at least half of saturday and all of sunday to the mini-LD I will actually be doing the exact same thing.

Game Jam – First approach

Hello out there!

I’m going to take part at something like this for the very first time and I’m really excited about whether I can actually get something done or not. I’ll go for a simple 2D sidescroller Jump&Run, should be easy enough to start with. Besides posting some bigger news in this blog, I’m going to post smaller updates to my Twitteraccount as well, so you might want to follow me to see me fail.. or not. 😉

Good luck and much fun to everyone participating! Let’s make some cool games!

Progress so far for the Mini-LD!

This is the idea: You are a DVD/CD-ROM Driver laser. Your task is to read all the data from the disk as long as possible. You can miss 3 times. If you miss more than that, the computer will crash(not yours of course!).
But there’s a bug in the driver of the driver: It’ll speed up. How long can you prevent the computer from crashing?

DVDERP
This is the progress so far.

Oh, how I came up with this idea? Check this out:

This image shows a DVD and a CD under a microscope. A long hole is a 1 and a short hole a 0.

Does anyone have a good name for this game? I thought of “A life of a CD/DVD Writer-laser”, but I think it’s a little too long :P

First Time Go

A friend of mine and I are using Construct to build our first ludum dare game, (even if it is just a mini ludum dare). We are using art from opengameart.org to speed things along. I’ll post what we have so far later. Right now we are operating under the principles of “fail faster.”

In for MLD49!

Gonna’ use me some Javascript + Html5.

Let’s get goin’ popol

My progress!

I have entered the realm of the MiniLD 49! Ive got quite alot of progress done, ands im only halfway through the day!

Im using

Unity Engine
BFXR
Pixelmator

Just my regular tools, nothing fancy

Im entering miniLD49

hey all, this is the first time I’m entering a game dev competition.

I’m making it in Gamemaker.

Update

Hi,

I said earlier that I was going to comeback later when I had a chance to post what I’m actually working on with my esteemed partner. First of all, here’s our GitHub. Second of all, I can’t actually figure out how to upload the game. Sooo… yeeeaaah.

I’m in

I found some time between daily chores to join this miniLD49. It’s a perfect opportunity to improve my art skills :) I’ll be using Audacty, Adobe Illustrator & the GameCreator. I already made some sketches and quick concept drawings. The game features a player as Unicorn and several owls dying from thirst. It’s up to you as the unicorn to gather water and food for these poor critters.

Progress, it is being made!

So im a few hours into the ld, and i have allready made quite a bit of progress. I have decided on what the game should be and how it plays out. Here, let me show you!gif

(Click the gif to watch it)

You (the player) control a revolver in the wild (apparently very green and lush) west. Your aim (pun not intended) is to take down the bad bandit guys hiding in their strongholds. You do this by positioning yourself, aiming, and then shooting away! There is not much more to it than what you can see here, but i feel as if i might actually make something worthwhile this time around! 😀

Hope everyone else is doing great!

I’m in, and I’ll be bringing LÖVE with me ;D

I’ll be joining this week’s Ludum Dare… tommorow 😛 I currently have family over. I’ll be using LÖVE, a game engine built on Lua. This will be my first Ludum Dare and it will be awesome 😀

I’m in!

This will be the first time i’m entering a gamejam! 😀 This will be awesome!
I will be making my game with C++(code::blocks IDE) and photoshop. Dunno how it will go, i’ll try my best :)

Good Luck Everybody, have fun!

I’ve started, here’s hoping I finish too!

Well, I’ve started! Here’s a sprite for a non-human player!

wow, very animate, such sprite, wow etc…

Next up, (very simple) procedural map generation!

Progress

Daface II: Faces  is coming along nicely. Get ready for some creepy weird shizzle.

We are in!

Myself and two friends are in for this Mini LD. We’ve got what we think is a great idea, and hope you guys agree. We will be using GameMaker Studio, Adobe Illustrator and Fruity Loops. Cant’t wait to post some progress updates!

UPDATE 1!

One of our building spritesheets. It’s a hospital.

Our second building sprite. This one a warehouse.

Programmer Art!

Joining in Mini LD #49! Programmer Art is the worst!  But it gets the job done.

Step 1: Game Systems!

Step 2: Make it pretty!
