That's it I am done.

Can't what for LD49's Theme.

Can't what for LD49's Theme.
Hi! Would you like to join a team for LD49? We happen to be looking for more folks who want to make something cool with us!
Update: Thanks to everyone who reached out! We're completing our team now ^^
Don't worry if you've never made a game before, or have nothing to show. We'll be there to help you learn as you go! Although, of course, if you do have some previous experience, that's also appreciated!
A little bit about us...

We are a small group of people who like to jam together. Myself and @666Savior have participated in three Ludum Dares. We met @Marek-Domagala and @L1Q at Slavic Game Jam 2020, and since then, Marek has been composing beautiful music for our games. The four of us are coming together to once again attempt creating something awesome
Like I mentioned, Marek composes music and creates sound effects. Savior, L1Q and I do some programming, while Savior also makes 3D models. We typically work in Godot, and our games are usually 3D, but we've done 2D ones as well. Check out our previous entries: Pillars of Anguish from LD47 and Planet LD48B from LD48.
Come join!If you'd like to team up, message me on Discord: outfrost#5543. I'm happy to talk, regardless of your skillset and what you'd like to work on! In particular, we would love to have more graphical artists (2D and/or 3D) on board, but we also welcome playtesters, generalists, level designers, programmers, writers, anyone!
Feel free to ask questions in the comments!
Update: Applications closed! We're completing our team now ^^

There's been a lot of news lately, so here's a recap.

We really appreciate everyone that helped out with the Theme Slaughter. This evening we crossed the 900k votes, which is pretty incredible. ~~If you'd like to help us reach 1 million votes, you can visit the link below and take part.~~

Over on Twitter, @philstrahl decided the Ludum Dare Theme Slaughter makes a slammin' poetry generator:

UPDATE: The Theme Slaughter has ended! Over 1.1 million votes cast in the slaughter!
Thank you everyone for your help!
We've taken the top themes, removed duplicates and previous Ludum Dare themes, and have assembled 3 lists of 16 themes for the Theme Voting.
Check back each day: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, for a new Round of Theme Voting! The first round is live now!

We're thrilled to have Intel on board sponsoring the event. We've got some exciting things planned for after Ludum Dare, so stay tuned for that.
And if you're commercializing an Indie game, check out the Intel Game Dev Boost program—details in the link below.

We're also thrilled to have GameMaker Studio 2 as a sponsor. YoYo Games announced recently that GameMaker Studio 2 is now free to use, no more 30 day trial!
If you're looking for something to do this weekend and want to teach yourself GameMaker, we've collected some getting started resources in the thread below.

We'll have licenses available in the coming days so you can export your games for the event.

We also asked @ShaunJS to share some advice for making Ludum Dare games with GameMaker. Thanks Shaun!
Finally, in his video @ShaunJS highly recommended a GameMaker Studio addon called GMLive. We reached out to the author YellowAfterLife, and they decided to offer a 20% discount on GMLive for Ludum Dare 49!
You can find more details on the Deals page.
Speaking of the deals page, it's live. If you have a product or add-on you want to share with our users, feel free to leave a comment here:

I'll try to update the post every few days.

In case you missed the news, and in case you were wondering what the sponsor money is for, I'm hiring a full-time Senior Developer in Canada to work with me on Ludum Dare.
Interviews will start a few days after Ludum Dare 49. You can find out more details here:

PS: I'm sure I'll regret this, but here's the meme template of me and my cat.
To comply with various government regulations, we've added a privacy policy, a cookie policy, and terms of service.

We'll soon require you to agree to those terms.
After much moaning about the "Science and Technology" category, Game Development has finally returned!

The Twitch widget in the sidebar seems to have broken since then, but this should be fixed in time Ludum Dare 49.
I recently switched us away from running our own mail server to paying for SendGrid. This should resolve most e-mail delivery problems (account activations, password resets, etc). If you still have issues, you can contact me.
The other day I pushed a bugfix that should stop the website from logging some users out. Also if you happen to switch IP addresses (i.e. going from WiFi your mobile data plan), there's now some leeway before it automatically logs you out.
Community member Mario Bonales submitted a fix for the problem where comments sometimes don't load.
That's it for now. We're almost 1 week away from Ludum Dare 49!
Just testing things out since I've never done a Ludum Dare before.

HA! I post a gif if I want too!
After spending a mind-numbing 3 consecutive hours doing the Slaughter last LD and only making a dent in it, I decided to split the Slaughtering up over the course of a few days this time.

For someone who votes for the theme and all that but doesn't really care what the final theme is as long as there's a Ludum Dare going on, I sure am picky about my Slaughter themes. 😅

We are a group of students from Argentina and we are made up of 3 Game Designers (with basic knowledge of Unity, Godot and I who in addition to this, I can help 2D artists) and a programmer. We are looking for one more programmer who wants to join!

Hi there, this is my first time at Ludum Dare. I'm not yet sure if i'll go for the compo, but just in case, i was curious about the requirement to publish source code: Do you have to also publish project files for all assets? (Gimp/Photoshop/Aseprite files, music/sound project files, etc) Or is it only the game project?
So, this time I'll be doing the compo, and I have a question. Do we need to upload our source files to github, or can we include it directly in the game page? (I'm sure this has been asked already but I couldn't find an answer).
Is it? Is it that time again? Already? Weird. Something needs to be done about this whole passage of time fiasco. But until that happens, I guess we'll just be making a game again.
As always, a humble gift of wallpaper to appease the Old Ones during the jam. This time I made three variants, available in both HD and 4k. You check them all out in this Imgur Album. These should also work with 4:3 resolutions when centered, if you are so inclined.
Now we meditate and prepare.

Hi there folks! I'm a veteran game jammer, first time participant at Ludum Dare, here to collaborate with some teams and create some music, sound design, or SFX :musical_note: :headphones:
Generally I write orchestral, chiptune, and ambient tracks, but always happy to play with different styles depending on the project.
If you've any questions, feel free to reach out

I created a Discord server for my team and I made these for the server icon. Just thought I'd share.

Doesn't matter if 2d or 3d
This would be my 8th ludum dare and I would love to work with an artist
I am a programmer and I use unity
If you're interested in working with me, here is my discord: Préda#2026

I admit, it's took me literally three days to do but I'm glad that's over. Good luck to the theme I selected and I'm so hype for Ludum Dare 49!
This not hate, I honestly want to know what this means. This theme has been around for years, and I see tons of duplicates every Ludum Dare.
So can someone please explain?
