It's not fair to the contestants who are serious making their games in 72h

I'm quite disappointed as well. Flaws in the scoring system allow for cheating, which isn't fair to those genuinely working in their game with the intention of achieving better rankings. 👉He didn't even rate anyone to get 2th, the game isn't finished either. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/54/fly-shoot-die. The community here is friendly, hopefully the scoring system will be fixed soon!

...and unlike some people, I didn't cheat.

This is my best Ludum Dare performance since LD44. Back then, I came 3rd in Theme with an almost identical score to what I got this time, so it seems that category was much more competitive this time round. 3.571 is my highest-ever Innovation score (I usually do terribly in that category), and 19th is my highest-ever Mood ranking. Audio, as ever, remains my weak point. All in all, though, these are results I can be very proud of.

I've already begun work on a post-jam patch for Six Seats Left. There probably won't be much in the way of new content, as I have PICO-8's size limits to contend with, but there will be plenty of much-needed polish and tweaking.

Congratulations to everyone who got rated, and I hope you're as happy with your results as I am!

Surprised.

The game was done in half a day, I'm surprised the ratings were so high. image (1).png @allenw @verttixpertti @wouterk12 @deaglan-murphy @caeonosphere @frank-gevaerts @zaykin-timofey @tiseno @sunset @lincolsalles @falestress @johnnysix @aviv-levy @milq @flaterectomy @tucan @egormnc @unless-games Thank you for leaving comments and giving feedback, appreciate it.

Thank you everyone for your ratings. I would like to be in the Top100 in the Overall category, but at least I have a really good score in the Graphics and Mood categories. For a prototype it is not bad at all. I am working on a PostJam release. Stay tuned. I wish you the best ++

MIROH Jr., coming Soon™ (?)

miroh-jr.png

Soon after I finished working on my entry - the NES game MIROH - I've started working with some people (a designer and a musician) on a... what do I call it? A sequel/remake/rebrand/spin-off of it, called MIROH Jr.

The plan is to finish it for this year's NESdev Compo, due in a month. Although it's still playable by one person controlling both the character (this time a unicorn) and the blocks (now made of marshmallow), the idea is for it to be also a 2-player co-op game, where each player moves one of these.

For comparison, if you didn't play it, this is what the old MIROH looks like:

old-miroh.png

(this one got 4.016 stars on Overall, 3.96 on Fun, 3.889 on Graphics; I expect the new one to be better than that :) )

WE DID IT GAMERS

This LD was the best so far, not only because of our surprisingly high results, but the journey we've been through!

LD54 Compo Results

Happy Ludum Dare, everyone

That was a whirlwind! Reasonably happy with the compo results considering this was only my second time entering the compo, but more than anything I'm super excited about the game I ended up with, and that's a big win for me. Planning on continuing development on this one!
