Work needs work…

At work we’ll release our new game on Monday 29th… But there is still a lot of stuff to be done and fixed and it’s gonna be super tight.
Tomorrow is the last day we can work on it and make it ready for the release.

If too much stuff goes to sh*t, it might meen that I have to work during the weekend :<

Grr I hope for the best, sicen I can’t wait to participate again, especially now I’m in my new home all settled and ready for a new challenge.

Lets hope we can have fun!

CURVE FEVER!!!

Want in, could be out

The image above mostly describe the doom scenario I’m in right now…

I really, really wanted in, but I’m not sure how much time work is going to take from me.
For everyone joining, have fun and good luck.

I might see you during my “should-be-sleep” times, but we’ll see.

Lets start working

I worked all day for the boss to make sure we can release Curve Fever 3 upcomming Monday.
This evening and night are going to be mine though! I’ll start working on a fun little idea I have regarding the theme.

I’ve choosen an art-style that’s probably going to take up most of the time but I’ll try my best to make it as crappy as possible to actually get some gameplay done this night.
The first day is almost over which makes me stress out a bit, but it’ll be fine once I’m on steam, doing my thing.

It’ll be a good distraction from the hectic and strict work I have to do for my job. I can mess around more so that’ll be my main goal for this jam.

Lets have fun!
Great stuff I’ve seen so far.

Keep up the spirit and keep drinking spirits 😉

Timelapse: CaveMen (the story of my failed compo)

Even when I didn’t completed my game by a long shot, I still had fun and did a bit of cool stuff.
So here is a (probably super fast) timelapse video of me working on stuff.

Btw: If anyone has suggestions on how to make better timelapses, please help me out. I’ve only done it twice now and I’m still pretty noob to this. I have no clue how to get a good timelapse down which isn’t too fast or crappy. What tools to use (I now use ProLapse), what frame rate, what interval etc.

It’s that time again to be in

Happy 15th anniversary!

Cavemen

I’m totally gonna jam that thing.
I’ll be using the next stack:

  • Unity
  • Photoshop
  • Microphone / beatbox / voice

Not sure what editor I’ll for programming.
Maybe Visual Studio Code if that has something for Unity.
I need to investigate.

I’ll also try to do a timelapse again.
Probably will use Chronolapse, haven’t tried it yet.
Is this a good choice?

Just throwing in my two cents, I love chronolapse for timelapsing. It works well, without causing any stress to your system, and its highly configurable, while still being easy to set up.

Sleep

Instead of waiting or getting up in the middle of the night (like I used to do), I'll do some things different. I'm going to be a smart guy and just get some sleep so I can start fresh in the morning after having a (hopefully) NOT cold shower (the boiler is f'ed up).

Good luck to all who don't sleep and start beasting in the middle of the night and to those ones who actually live in USA where they nice time-zone is for LD

Snack time

I just settled on a nice concept I might have time-boxed good enough. It might be still a bit too much work but I think this time I'll spend less time on art and focus more on the gameplay itself. I haven't scheduled in any music time in so I might still have to move things around a bit.

For now it's time for some food and snacks, and after that I'll start setting up my project and begin with some code

Food progress

Here we are again.
More food pictures because it’s important to keep carbonated!

Food

My battle-station with current progress.

I don’t make much progress but at least the food is good 😀

My silly timelapse

I didn't finish in time but did have fun. Here is meh, silence, timelapse video that is probably a bit too long ;)

In it deep

This time from my new appartment in the center of Amsterdam woot! For a change, I might work together with a collegue, but he has yet to decide if he's up for the challenge.

I hope for something good this time, since it has been a while since I've completed a game :D

I'll be using Unity with some Photoshop and Audio thing. Will be capturing the whole thing using Chronolapse.

Starting up solo

In my previous post I wasn't sure if I was going to work solo or with a co-worker (would be jamming for the first time). Turns out he didn't had time so I'm on my own.

Since I'm in Europe, LD starts at 3am. I was up till 2am but decided to get some sleep instead of waiting.

When my alarm went off (at 7:30) I looked at the theme and went back to sleep LOL. I did came up with some ideas during that time but all faded away since I was still in half sleep mode.

Got out of bed finally (around 9:00), took a shower and came up with a briliant idea which I'm not going to share yet. I'm also not going to look at any other posts till I've finalized and scoped out my game just to be sure my idea gets influenced by other (most probably) similar concepts

Good luck to all and have fun!

Food while making "Sparm Rece"

Here is an image of my food. Progress so far: tasty. Game progress so far: not so great.

Started over couple of times because I wasn't happy with the concept. Going for a race of survival now.

Enjoy your meals!

Construction work delay

So I just "lost" around 3 hours fixing up some things in my appartement. Put up a coat hanger and 2 lamps in both bathroom and toilet. I guess it's oke though to have a little break but I feel I could have spend it differently.

On the other hand, my appartement is now almost completely done (few things left to do)!

For now, time to get back to work and fix those sparms.

Not sure about title

I'm not sure if I should just name it for what it is or go for this silly "more kid friendly" name. Opinions appreciated
