First ever Jam/Compo! Psychology of the Depths

SplashTitle.png

What a blast of a way to spend a weekend (yes, I'm a nerd)! I'm actually pretty pleased with how this turned out. Last minute WebGL resolution debugging issues mean there's only a Windows build available though.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else did!

Psychology of the Depths - minor update

Updated the game with some minor fixes to UI resolution scaling (ultrawide should now be playable).

Also was able to add an HTML web version, which should make the game much more accessible!

I hope everyone enjoys!

Deeper into the Unconscious!

Like card games? Like weird psychic symbolism? Like possibly cringy voice acting as the game's sole audio because the programmer has zero musical talent?

If so, Psychology of the Depths might afford you a few minutes of fun!

Thanks to your lovely feedback, I've updated the WebGL version with a few additional animation and messaging elements to hopefully make some of the card abilities more engaging. More updates planned, but I don't want to change too much yet from the original compo version (which is, of course, still available in the Win/Mac downloadable versions).

I'm in!

Haven't really done any coding since LD48 though sooo.... probably gonna be pretty rough, lol

Princess: Unwed

So, this was supposed to be a Compo entry, but real life (TM) clobbered me last weekend, and so I missed it. But hey, now the Extra category is a thing, so yay!

It's a kind of investigation/puzzle game - soooo... a little different fare. Give it a try if you'd like!

Strong, independent princess who don't need no prince? Apply here!

Got some great initial feedback on my Carmen Sandiego-esque Princess-dodging-arranged-marriages game entry. As a result, I've added supplemental tips and charts to the game page that should make it easier to get figured out. I'd love if you try it and let me know!

Princess: Unwed: Upgraded!

Do you secretly have the soul of a princess desperately needing to wriggle your way out of an unwanted betrothal? Do you enjoy deduction, gathering clues, and poring over fantasy kingdom maps? Do you enjoy gossiping about the poor character traits of others? How about cute carrier pigeons named Miss Pidgie?

If so, Princess: Unwed might just afford you 15 minutes or so of guilty enjoyment!

Based on feedback, the game now has an in-game journal to help with keeping track of clues! No more need to search around your desk for a scrap of paper to jot those little nuggets of information down like a _ lowborn peasant_ - just check a box or type a few keystrokes in-game!

If any of that sounds tempting, give it a try!

Well, THAT was a weekend!

FINALLY got this put together. Feels good!

This was supposed to be a Compo entry, but a hurricane decided to knock out internet for most of Saturday, and I’m a hack programmer without the stack overflow crutch, so here we go Jam! (I know, Excuses, excuses...!) :-)

Anyway, I made an Arcade-y sort of thing. You're protecting spaceships evacuating from an alien attack through a wormhole. More civilians get added to the ship every 10 seconds, and you have to judge when to open the wormhole and get them out of dodge.

Also get ship upgrades to power up and be better at exploding baddies!

Anyway, try it out!

Another one in the bag!

Feels good to do another LD after missing a few. I think this one came out okay. It's an "escape the house" puzzle type of game loosely inspired by Book of Hours. Summon up golems, elementals, angels, and imaginary friends to help you escape.

Oh, and there are ham sandwiches. And voice acting by yours truly. :-D
