LD27

I’m in!

#27 is going to be my first LD ever, so my expectations are probably unrealistically too high! Yay!

My only experience with gamedev compos is PyWeek, so you know where I’m coming from. I’ll be developing in Linux and Python (with Pyglet), with a dedicated old laptop to build a Windows bundle. I’m still thinking how to improve Mac OS X support, without owning a Mac.

OK, see you around.

EDIT:

Apparently posts are more specific about what you plan to use in LD, so…

Language: Python (2.7; Linux)
Library: pyglet 1.2 alpha1 (repo version actually) / parts of cocos2d
IDE: vim
Graphics: Gimp / Inkscape / Wingd3D / mtPaint
Sound effects: SFXR / Audacity
Music: SoundTracker / Ardour
Other: py2exe

I might be able to help you with OS X support. I’m using Python 2.7 with pyglet 1.2 alpha1 as well.

OK, great!

Will do. Which distro are you using?

Failed

I think I made a mistake with my approach: too many things to do before even getting close to the gameplay.

Well, as always… learning stuff, specially related to the “48 hours” format of the compo.

May be next time!

LD29

Not a game (yet), but still 15 hours left!

ld29-submarine

I’m finally using Javascript and canvas 2D. My objective is to finish and deliver, but I don’t know how much of a game it will be!

This is not looking good

I don’t think I’ll have a game in 7 hours, but I’ll try just in case. I may release it out of contest anyway 😉

ld29-mine

Congratulations to everybody that delivered a game this LD!

EDIT: oh, dear. It wasn’t even English!

Failed

Wow, this time I got quite far… but not enough. See you next LD!

I’ll try to finish the game as part of my #1gam challenge.

Are you sure you can’t stick around until the jam is over? That game looks so good and I would love to play it. It’s nearly finished!

Hey! I managed to finish it for the jam! :)

I did it!

Well, not for the compo… but I list I managed to finish it (to some extent) for the jam, so I’m extremely happy!

Feel free to play… “Submarine (treasure hunting)”:

Nice art style! I really like the colors :)

LD30

I may be in!

This weekend is… complicated, but I’ll try my best to participate. I may get some time Saturday and part of Sunday. If I can align that free time with inspiration, everything will be alright 😉

I’ll be using the same stuff I used last time: Javascript (plain Canvas 2D + SoundJS), with my usual toolset (Gimp, Schism Tracker, Audacity, sfxr, Chrome/Firefox, vim, git, etc in Linux).

See you there!

Looks like a platformer!

I’m as surprised as you possible are!

dual-mockup

This is how my tiles look in tiled, still no code to draw it in the game :( Go, go, go!

Progress!

I have a very vague idea of what I’m doing, but in my experience, having a title screen and a mood helps to get things going.

Yay! DUAL Adventure!

DUAL Adventure

PS: I don’t speak Japaneese, so please correct me if I’m wrong! No offense intended! 😉

The Japanese looks good to me, but I don’t speak Japanese as well.

Basic platforming action!

Slow progress, but I’m getting closer to have something that is playable (kind of).

Could be definitely worse :)

I’m pleased with the map renderer (processing a JSON exported file from tiled), and but the platforming is just OK-ish. I’ve never finished a proper platformer so I’m experimenting too much for a 48 hours competition.

15 hours left!

Submitted a game!

I couldn’t finish my game, but at least I submitted something “playable”.

DUAL Adventure: LD page | Play it (Web, HTML5)

This is also my best attempt at the platformer genre, so I’m happy with what I’ve achieved given that I only had day an a half.

Anyway, see you next LD! Now is time to play games!
