You might have heard of PICO-8, but have you heard about the equally awesome fantasy console called TIC-80? TIC-80 is an all-in-one platform for making and distributing 8-bit games. It has its built-in code, sprite, tile, and music editor which make it extremely fast and easy to prototype games, perfect for a game jam. Did I mention that it is also free and open source? TIC-80 does have some limitations from its 8-bit architecture (which can also be its charm) but that doesn't stop us from making some amazing games. Here are some of the LD50 entries that are made with TIC-80 (that I am aware of, and in no particular order):
