Woo. It begins.

This will be my first time doing a ludum dare. Gonna use Löve2d and lua and mtPaint and probably sfxr or something.

This should be good.

So I’ve got something done.

Also it is late at night, and I am tired.

Adventures in CAVErnS continues in the morning! Probably I will have some idea of what I am even doing then.

Nice editor color scheme!

Cavernous.

After doing pretty much nothing, and just messing around, I finally got something that actually seems a little decent.

Now maybe I can work on the actual game part.

I will do this thing!

I’ve got free time to spare, so here we go.

I’ll be using javascript and THREE.js / Blender to build my game. I’ve got some practice at this already, so it shouldn’t be too hard to get started.

Tools:

* Sublime Text

* Blender

* Chrome

* Sfxr

Basic game structure, includes THREE.js and some helper node.js libraries for locally hosting a website for development.

Dawn of the Second Day

I’ve got a pretty solid idea for a game and the basic game stuff is already done. Now it’s just a matter of creating all the systems and hooking them together. I might even have time for some polish! I might be spending too much time on fancy shader stuff, tho.

Progress image:

As finished as it’ll get with an hour to spare.

The game didn’t turn out very fun, but I learned a lot about THREE.js and shaders. The plan was to have a few more stations for interacting with. Ideally, the information would be somewhat realistic and related to what astronomy data actually is, but that takes some research. Also, I didn’t get around to making any sound effects or music.

But on the bright side, there’s some neat little interactive bits and that’s what makes a game, so there you go.

Finished? A game!

Here’s my entry: a more or less done game in Pico-8.
