It looks increasingly likely that I'm in. There goes the weekend, but here comes my 10th LD! (6 on the old site + 3 on the new + LD44 = 10!)

"Your first 10 games will be shit, so get them out of the way quickly". Phew, last shit game! This LD I want to focus more on graphics. I'm terrible at graphics, and have a habit of sticking with the first thing I make... I want to take a bit more care this time. Maybe try some vector art too.

I'll be using: * Emacs * Ableton Live

The code will be some form of web technologies "from scratch". Depending on the theme. I'm thinking of hand-rolling some kind of SVG mini-engine... just for fun! But if the theme requires it I'll fall back on one my past JS libraries (or mayyybe Phaser, but I really want to roll my own).

My first jam after giving up on my 10th compo! I didn't care for the theme, so I decided not to participate and just mess around with a cellular automata experiment instead... then this morning I realised I could turn it into an "art game" and submit it anyway!

My entry for LD44 is an "art game" without a goal. Well, I hope there's a "goal" - but not like... a goal goal.

However, while doing a spot of post-jam spaghetti refactoring (my favorite part of writing hacky code!), I accidentally discovered a game inside the game.

While making sure I hadn't changed/broken anything, I had to test it end-to-end (it takes around 3 minutes). Suddenly there was a tangible game goal: how little money could I earn? My record so far is just over $15,000,000,000 - but I’m confident I can "beat" it.

Can you? Perhaps we'll never know...

Five of us go in. How many will perish along the way?

Rust is our language of choice. Bevy the game framework. One of us is a master rustacean, the rest are whatever baby crabs are called (but also starting with "rust").

For art, our artist chooses Clip Studio Paint.

For tunes, our musician chooses an old copy of Ableton Live.

Exits are SOUTH, WEST.

Running out of steam a bit here, but no matter how things turn out at least I made this lovable tiny creature that I'm sure will spawn a franchise and merchandising line, eventually earning it's rightful place along side Sonic, Mario, and Pac-Man...
