LD29

Here we go!

First Ludam Dare, I figure I’ll jump right in. My goal is to produce *something* after 48 hours, whether it be something with actual gameplay value or just to say that I’ve finished.

I have to say I’m a little bemused by the theme, but hopefully I’ll come up with some concept that I’ll enjoy working on….

Here’s my obligatory tools list:

  • Unity – Game Engine
  • Photoshop + GIMP – 2D Graphics
  • Garageband + Audacity  – Sound

Good luck everyone!

Progress Report

Work has been going pretty well! (On my first Ludum Dare ever…) Haven’t had as much time to work on this project as I’d like, but things are coming together.

I still have a *lot* of stuff I’d like to implement, so now the concern is just time (and art ability). I also have many aspects of my core game mechanic that I’m in the process of creating.

My plan now is to finish as many of the core game mechanics as I can, do another art pass to clean up some animations / pixel art, and then add my “reach goal” mechanics.

Here’s to hoping I can pull off a fraction of that in the next couple hours… 😀

BTW, the title I”m going for is “You Must Break Things. ” just to give you an idea of what vision I have for the core gameplay.

It’s just… Pong

Just submitted my mLD58 “entry.” Just stuck with a simple Pong clone, so I wasn’t incredibly ambitious.

However, I did to some thing’s that I’d never done before with the new Unity UI system. That was a stumbling block of mine in the past which led me to abandon several projects: UI. Now that Unity has its own (good) UI system, I feel like I can work on more ambitious projects in the future.

But anyways, my entry is just Pong, but I had fun throwing this together in a couple hours, so I’ll call this mini LD a success.

Here is the submission page and you can play the game in-browser here.
