Ludum Dare 49

Let's gooooo!

Hello! This is my second ludum dare after doing a team project for LD48. This go around, my partner and I decided we'd do a duo project; we're both excited to get started!

Although for LD48 we did our game in Godot, this time we'll be working in Unity as I have since learned a great deal in the engine. I know much more about Unity now than I did about Godot during the last jam, so I'll be glad to "stretch my legs", so to speak.

My partner will be doing the majority of the game's art (including UI design), while I'll be handling the programming and in-engine development work. We'll work together on making some music and sound effects.

We're hoping for delivery as we're excited about a potential idea for that prompt, but we're ready to take on any of the challenges from LD49!

End of Day 2

Whew! It's been a push but we got pretty much everything we needed to do done. Tomorrow just have to do a multitude of small but fairly critical polishing tasks, but I think we're in the home stretch!

Fourth LD, second with just me and my partner - we're tired but really happy to have gotten to the finish line.

The code is a mess, but the art is super cute (thanks kinart!) and it's arguably the best game we've made.

Play Hear Ye! (Windows)!

Let the selection BEGIN! Fury Duty

Whew, LD55 was a tough one for our team! We lucked out early on with kinart, our designer, coming up with a spin on the theme in the form of jury duty, but as a fighting game. We had ambitious plans that - as with any game jam - fell markedly short. But that's not to say we aren't proud of our efforts!

Godot build and programming by me, art by kinart, and a debut by jesslur on sound effects, with special voiceover work by guest Thomas Mueller (thanks Tom!).

You can play the game here.

The game is short and simple - and I apologize for the awful CPU opponent behavior! Additionally, I wanted to show off some of the awesome character designs that were meant for the game, but unfortunately didn't make it in due to the time constraints.

Redd and Judge Fury

The player and opponent, respectively. Redd is the starting player character. They're not excited to be summoned to jury duty, but little do they know that Judge Fury presides over a court of brawl.

FrANTic Focus has released!

Whew, that was a fun one! LD 57 was a lot smoother for our team than prior jams. For this jam, we took the theme "Depth" and made it a core gameplay mechanic - as a unique 2D platformer that uses depth of field changes to simulate movement in a third dimension! In addition, the game centers on an intrepid little ant as she makes her way from the depths of her abandoned ant colony to the surface.
