We’re going to be using Unity3D with probably Gimp and a small voxel editor I wrote for the models.

You can get it here. Everyone is free to use it for Ludum Dare. (There are manuals on how to use it and create the meshes inside your project in the dropbox folder, don’t forget to get them and the mesh builder package from the manuals and mesh builder package folder)

I’ve been working on it for about 2 weeks now, along with the associated builder scripts.

Here’s something I made with the editor 4 versions and like a week ago: A simple column with vines and smaller voxels for detail, to make it look older.

Voxel Object Editor alpha 3-2

This was when I was still using textures for the coloring, I’m using Vertex Coloring now. The shader I’m using comes from the Unity Community Wiki and it’s included in the Hatchery Mesh Builder Package. I also edited it to make it less bright and be affected by lighting, this one is in the  manuals and mesh builder package folder by itself.

If you  make something with my editor, send me a pic if you want. I’d like to see it. :) Just post a comment here or send it to me on twitter. I’ll also try to answer any questions about it, or add clarification if needed.

I’m really hoping to fit the theme into a kind of dungeon crawler.

An updated version of my column. I made this in a few minutes in the newest version of the editor.

We’ll be using Unity in C# and probably gimp, not sure about sound yet.
