LD 42

i'm in !

Hello everyone, I wasn't sure to join this time because i don't have much time this weekend but i found an idea who should be quick enough to implement and original enough to make me join.

The idea? Some kind of compact rogue lite where every action you do and hit you take fill your inventory. if it's full you're dead.

i draw a mockup and quickly put it together in Unity: Untitled-1.jpg

Progress Update + Game explaination

I have made great progress on the game and the gameplay loop is almost finished. The game is actually fun to play with only the 10 cards and 2 enemies in it. I have made a quick image so the game is a bit more understandable for you. ld42_wip2.jpg

Quality feedback !

Ludum Dare 45

I'm in !

Hey everyone, I was waiting for that ludum dare after missing the three last ones. The theme already give me inspiration, can't wait to start drafting ideas!

I'll be working with Unity, probably try the new universal render pipeline and with 3DS Max and Photoshop. Nothing for the sound yet as i'm used to not having time to add any in my LD games.

4 hours in! Got an idea and a character!

Hello everyone, after the theme annoucement at midnight here, i worked on an idea quickly. The idea wasn't well defined but i knew i was needing à 3D Character. I start to draw quick ideas for the character and immediatly go to 3ds max to have it as quickly done as possible. Here is the result: WhatsApp Image 2019-10-05 at 02.57.46.jpeg

i modeled, textured and rig him in less than 2h! while modeling i was thinking at trying a shader in the style of Mike Mignola art style: ouremencounters/emwithemevil-publicity-h/em2019.jpg

I followed both articles on toon shading with Unity Shader graph to achieve the look i wanted: https://blogs.unity3d.com/2019/07/31/custom-lighting-in-shader-graph-expanding-your-graphs-in-2019/ https://connect.unity.com/p/zelda-inspired-toon-shading-in-shadergraph

and here is the result that i'm quite happy with for a game jam entry: https://youtu.be/ipZkINGFAAc

Now i have a game to make !

Slow Progress

I have made some progress on the game, not as much as i wanted but the game is taking shape. Here is a preview video : https://youtu.be/8updA0iL_Ik

[Not] Done [Yet] !

The game is done! I miss a ton of content from what i planned but the game is playable from start to finish. I even made a little animated intro to give context of the game.

The thing is, the game is playable but the lack of content (player abilities) is a bit underwhelming. I start working on additional content for the next 1h30 before submitting it but if i can't add much in that time frame, i might submiting it as a Jam game.

Wish me luck !
