Finish Ludum Dare - The Game!

Ludum Dare.png

Once there was an ambitious boy, with only one goal! He wanted to finally finish creating a videogame once. He decided to push himself a bit by participating in a Ludum Dare! Now he had to create a game within only 72 hours, great! Out of scratch he created the first code, sprites and then… New awesome ideas came up. And more ideas… And even more… He got distracted by all the ideas that came to his mind, and he was sure that he could not implement them all. He got stressed by all the ideas, still more were coming. The more he had, the worse it got…

Can the boy finalize his game before time runs out?

WHAT WENT RIGHT At first I thought I had to little time to participate in Ludum Dare. Saturday and Sunday I had to work both evenings. Monday I had to go to school. Before working I had to celebrate Sinterklaas on Sunday, which is a Dutch celebration which took the whole afternoon. Still I managed to create a game within a really short amount of time. I think that mostly came because I really easily got an idea for my Ludum Dare #40 game.

WHAT WENT WRONG If you could look at my sourcecode, then you can realise it is very sloppy. Also the names of my instances are very unclear. Everything had names like object1, object2, sound1, sound2, sprite1, sprite20. At some point while making the game, it would have been better for myself if I had given them all proper names. With more extensive plans I would have lost my way in my own jumble of unchanged names.
