I'm in, my first time!
Well, hopefully this goes well and everything doesn't catch on fire.
Well, hopefully this goes well and everything doesn't catch on fire.
I've been a little intimidated with all the really interesting-looking games that are being made, but as I'm not super experienced by any stretch of the imagination, I'm satisfied with what I have so far!
I'm going for a idle-ish building game where you have limited spaces (a small world?!) to build on to gain more resources. Most of the base code is done now, I just need to add more buildings and such and expand the game more, and add a main goal to work towards! Also have to put in all the art, too. Here's a screenshot so far!

Whoo boy, I had just barely finished on time before submission hour(s)! And by finished, I mean it's basically art-less and probably extremely buggy. I would have loved to do more with the game, as it is quite short and not exactly great-looking. However, since this is my first Ludum Dare game as an inexperienced game developer, I'll take what I've been able to crank out. All in all, this was a great experience to help give me the push to finally finish my first "full" and relatively finished game! Can't wait to play other submissions!
So that being said, check out my game, Glop Plots! It's a bit of a mashup between an idle and a building/puzzle game, where you only have a "small world" of spaces to be able to build things on to gather your resources.

Web-based games are highly preferred, so if you have a game that is playable in a browser, post away! I'll do my best to get through them and possibly comment with some feedback. Good luck to everyone during judging!
Shameless plug for my game if you'd like to take a look: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/glop-plots
I thought last time was a great way to discover some really cool games to play since there isn't too much in the way of sorting at the moment, so here I go playin' again! Comment with your web games (or OSX, yes I know I'm in the minority here) and I'll get to playing and rating them!
A little self-promotion never hurt anyone either, so here's my game too :O

Twas the day before results, so I'd like to do one more round of games! I've enjoyed having people post them here, so comment your games down below and I'll get to playing them all! It's the final push for ratings everyone! :)
As usual, here is my game as well if you'd like to try: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/glop-plots
Good luck everyone!
I just want to say that as my first Ludum Dare, this was amazing! I had tons of fun making a whole game around a theme, and although being more constrained makes it stressful at first, I felt it was more as guidance which helped me to actually end up creating my first finished game! Of course there is still a lot of work to do to improve it, but it's got a beginning and an end which is more than most of my half-finished projects in the past. I've had tons of fun rating everyone's games too, and see I still have lots to learn! Have a good final stretch everyone, good luck with your ratings!
Take a gander at my first Ludum Dare entry, Glop Plots! I'd love to get some more ratings and feedback before time is up!

Wow I actually had no idea it was this close to starting. I just randomly visited the site to see when the next jam is, and lo and behold, here it is!

I'm really happy to be able to have finished my second ever Ludum Dare with the creation of Potential Energy. For this game, I ended up focusing a lot on atmosphere and some form of story instead of graphics (as shown by the very simplistic boxes for everything) or gameplay. I definitely could have made things a bit more engaging with mechanics instead of a very simple platformer, however I was able to achieve a level of polish that surpassed my previous entry. I'm ok with this! I'd love to get to the point where I can combine both gameplay and atmosphere in the next Ludum Dare so I am able to improve a skill each time!
Anyways, if you'd like, come play my game! I'll be around playing other games, and I'll also be posting a couple times asking for your games in the comments because that ended up being pretty fun last time. Great job everyone!

I enjoyed this last Ludum Dare, and as I am one of the dozens of people with a Mac I can't play a sizable chunk of games here. So, post your web game here and I'd love to play and rate them all!
If anyone would like to share the love a bit, check out another commenter's game or even (gasp) my game!

I look forward to playing some games!
In these final hours, I thought I might as well write a little something thanking everyone for a great jam! This was my second LD, and it ended up turning out numerous times better than my first. I just wanted to congratulate everyone on creating all these different games and thank everyone that took the time to play and rate my own game!
I've been able to obtain quite a few more ratings than I did last time, and I would like to think that the overall quality of the game I've made has gone up quite a bit as well. The polish I've been able to achieve compared to my last game (it actually has sound now!) is much higher, and the goals that I had with the game were pretty much able to be fully realized. Hopefully this can lead to even greater improvements in the jams to come!
Thanks for taking the time to read my little "postmortem" I guess you could call it. If you would like to check out my game, Potential Energy, you can find it linked below. It is a very atmospheric game with a large focus on story and mood. If that sounds like your cup of tea, I'm a couple ratings away from reaching the big 50, so if you could take the time to try and get it up there that would be freaking fantastic!
Also, if anyone wants to comment the link to their own game, go for it! I prefer web games, but Mac ones can work as well. I'll try to get to playing and rating them all!
Thanks again for a great time and great games. Here's to the next one!

I got 15th in Mood! This is honestly way better than I ever could have hoped for, and it at least goes to show that my focus and overall goal for the game paid off! Not too shabby on my other scores either! This is crazy!

If any of ya want to still try it out, I won't stop you! ;)

See you in December!
