At Least I Learned A LOT
This was my very first attempt at Ludum Dare, even though eons ago I worked on one of the biggest games of all, the Space Shuttle Simulator. In that one, you had a very small part of a very massive thing, but in LD, you’re responsible for everything if you’re doing it alone. I did not finish my game, but I learned a ton. At this time last week, I didn’t even have a clue where to start, and now I do. Amazingly, I did all of it on an iPad Pro using Pixaki, Textastic, JavaScript, and Phaser. I learned a ton, and it’s really fun to see where everyone went with the theme and the cool games everyone came up with. One thing that really stood out for me was everyone’s enthusiasm. I definitely hope to participate again. I’ve included a screen shot from my game. The working title is Ten Gallon Hats, and originally I planned for the little cowboy hat guy to deliver a stack of hats, but oh dear, the physics. Haha. It’s part of a bigger story I came up with recently when I was playing around with learning pixel art.
