Been playing about WAYY to much with the artwork.
Im terrible at it which means i takes ages on something simple.

So far 2 basic boring levels.

So, the day is nearly up and I’ve wasted a lot of time doing a whole lot of nothing, rage! Here is a bullet list of what I have done so far.

Made 3 maps (no enemies)
Made enemy sprite
Made animated player sprites
Made power ups
simple box collision fully working
added health
added score
added a question
added a HUD
I’m sure there is more but my head is sore right now, so I can’t think properly. My code is a mess at the moment. I really need to get started on added some fun game play or this will be a pointless game.

I’m quite gutted actually, slick 2d is giving me some problems when I want to use a JOption pane, but I’ve come up with a work around. For now, i’m going to have a rest, eat some real yummy food, and rest my eyes a bit because they hurt.

I’ve spend most of my time trying to abstract the code so all I need to do to get it finished, is make the levels.

You’ve not heard the last of me 😀

I forgot to say the libs I am using are:

Getting somewhere slowly, I have a lot more Functionality now.
Once there is full functionality all I need to do is make more maps. Here is hoping it all goes well.

Well I’ve tried to be in keeping with the theme. which means when you get the upgrade in my game, you EVOLVE…….kinda

Major update. The time is 18:32 PM in Scotland, and I haven’t posted on here since this morning.

The game is starting to come together nicely, but i don’t know if the game will be fully playable by the time I have to enter it. I might have to enter it as a Demo.

As the game is pretty much almost working, just a few bugs to iron out. I’ve bumped the version up to V:0.7

Soon I’m also going to add some Sound using SFXR

I’m soo buzzed about this Ludum Dare.

Most of my uni assignments are done and I’ve not long handed in a games project for my university module (google CSC9N6 for anyone interested)

 

So I’m all ready.

I might end up using sfxr But I’m not a big sound person, so we will see.

So After a good sleep I had some ideas of what I might do for a game.

I lost a bit of time because at first I decided I was going to write the game in pure Java Swing. But now I don’t want to waste time writing all these classes when Slick2d has everything that i need ready. (Don’t wanna reinvent the wheel)

So like. I wasted a lot of time today derping around watching tv and chatting to the flatmate today.

My game is pretty simple and its almost near completion. So I think I’m going to add more cool features and maybe add a mini game in between waves.

I might even optimise code :O
