I’m In (As a first timer)

I guess I should blah blah blah

I’ll be working with iiechapman in the LD Jam doing music and sound.

Tools: Garageband/Logic Pro and a whole slew of random instruments

I’ll be working as my solo music Project, Distance the Earth has Traveled, so stay tuned to learn about where you can hear my work !!

Figured we should show our work set up, minus the drums and laptop set up in the other room.

Good luck to everyone!

Doing Vocal Work With Professionalism: A How To

When you get to the point in your game making that you decide,

“Hey, I could add some voice work to really spice up my game”,

here are a few tips!

1) Be sure you have enough microphones. You don’t want to be the one person who has to share a mic with the person who doesn’t shower all weekend.

2) Be sure you have a quiet room. Keyboard clicks don’t make for lovely background noise for a touching narrative.

3) Proofread your material before you start reading. Punctuation spleling erors, plot ho  s, and just really bader wording can make it difficult to read once you’re recording.

4) Above all else, just be professional, calm and mature, and your recording session will come out perfect every time.

The Final Stretch!!

So after many revisions/strip downs/screw it let’s think of something else’s, we’re coming down to the final bit of production.

Music is done and mastered, game play has been tweaked, bugs have been squashed. All and all, it’s been a good week.

Look for Traffic Jam, being submitted by iiechapman soon. We would have a stream up of the final tweaks and a count down, but the stream has been messing with the speed of the game and we want to make sure it’s as precise as possible.

Music will be up online soon as well, if you want to hear music from the game as well as ideas for other games we were going to make this weekend, check out http://soundcloud.com/d_e_t_music and distancetheearthhastraveled.bandcamp.com after the Jam.

Thanks to all! We had a great time, keep your eyes open!
