Just in time :)
Really enjoyed my first jam!
Thankyou to the organisers! Now it's time for me to play some games!!

It's been years since I've done any game dev stuff and I can't remember how to do most things but I'm trying
I was so close to giving up, as I'm sure many of you can relate to. Here's the final game for the compo. What a weekend!

Close your eyes to explore the world around you
Open them to see what you’ve explored and move about freely
Good luck to everyone doing the Compo! Only a few minutes left

Inspired by Conway’s Game of Life and Tupac Shakur’s poem of the same name as this game, “The Rose That Grew From Concrete” is a open ended puzzle game with multiple or no solutions (I cannot do the math to figure out whether the game has a solution or not). The game’s mechanics are a testament to the impossible feat of a overcoming the harshest conditions without any instructions.
How to play (for now, may iterate for JAM):
You start with 5 rose seeds. You plant them and run the simulation. The simulation runs according to Conway’s rules for the Game of Life. Every time a cell is “alive”, its “growth” count is incremented. When the growth count reaches 8, that cell blossoms into a flower. You get a seed for every flower that blooms. For every flower you bloom, one word from Tupac’s poem is unlocked. Win condition is to unlock the whole poem.
I'm not going to make the compo. I am aiming for the jam now.
This is starting again, eh?

though got my assignment and midterm due tomorrow I still finished this compo challenge xddd I think I spent less than 12-15 hours on this due to I also need to write homework anyway it is too simple to play but I still with for more comments thanks guys!
My game, Void Builder, is done. It's a bit weird, so I'm worried that people are going to get stuck.
Wow, I thought I could never finish it in time but, hey, it's done! The game is not polished and there are tons of feature I couldn't implement but I think it is enjoyable :) Let's go create a page for this!
This is a game about game developement. You as a Game Developer have the responsobility to do the coding, bug fixing and marketing. The Game is simple you do coding which may or may not have bug you fix bugs and distribute pamphlet all over the city to earn money and using those money you hire developers to make your task easy.
Try to write a maximum line of code with solving all the bugs and become a billionaire from your game by marketing it in the smallest TimeSpan.

I made such good progress on the first night, but had to stop and write an essay for school. Essay is done, and 24 hours is left for the Jam, so lets do this!
Just finished witg few minutes to spare :) You can try it out here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/speedy-miner
Check out the cool vid of the game! https://twitter.com/AnkanX/status/1180965929406078978?s=19

I HAVE FINISHED!!!

In Scrap Attack you play Scrappy the robot who's creators have turned him on without giving him a battery. I guess you can say he "starts with nothing". Fortunately scrappy can dump the scrap he collects into depositors and get himself a bit of extra charge.
All in all I think this is a pretty good arcade type game. If you wanna check out the gameplay you can see it here
https://youtu.be/v3N_KPhCgkM
Most part of the first act of my game is done. Need some adjustments, but the core is made.
Take a look at the video below and let me know what you think.

Special thanks to @langotriel and Dianna Conley (https://www.diannaconley.com/) for the voice acting and the script revision

Naaaah, just kidding  (I'm dying inside, please help me) We have (almost) all the basics we need to setup. Now I'll let my friend from the other side of the Earth (well, sorry to teach you that, but it's not flat...) build the levels. With all the (crappy) code I made, the Level Design will be easier : you can add as many levels as you need, the game will adapt itself!

I'm pretty happy about everything I learnt from this first 3D game. Even if we don't make it (we still don't have sound, musics, light, sfx etc.) this adventure has been really rewarding!
For all those who haven't finished yet : hold on tight!

I did it! Even though I didn't spend as much time on this game as my previous two entries, I'm happy with the results.
You can check it out here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/overthought
Our game is done. Sadly, tomorrow we have other jobs to handle so we can't continue any further. So, this is it. All our sweat and tears has finally paid off. I hope people who will play our game will like it.
Well, it will probably finish me for good, but I felt like I deserved it! Cheers everybody! And for those who keep going with the jam, I wish you the best of luck!

My game here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/tubizo-and-the-dark-detrimental-wizard-of-chaos
After spending a day uninspired by the theme, and with three failed prototypes under my belt, I cobbled this simulator together in 24 hours.
Uh Oh Galaxy - A planet simulator with a side of chaos.

I did it! Even though I didn't spend as much time on this game as my previous two entries, I'm happy with the results!
You can check it out here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/overthought
... but there's a bug I'd like to fix, two or three small features and a bit of extra polish that I'd like to add - so we're going to see how much of that we can squeeze into tomorrow evening.
In the mean-time here's a our title screen:

And a GIF of the current gameplay:

Good luck to everyone submitting for the competition now!
Chroma is a platformer where you start off being able to see nothing, then gradually gain the ability to see more colours. Play in your browser.

Congrats to everyone else that has finished and good luck to all the people still jamming!
Just in time, I finished uploading my game "Living Forrest". I am quiet happy with the result. So far, there is only the source code and a Windows-Build. I had some trouble with the WebGL-Build (that cost me a lot of time), so this will have to wait until tomorrow. Time to sleep now.
Congratualations to all COMPO-Finisher!
My Game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/living-forrest

For the first time, I've been able to submit for the compo! Draft & Doodle is an art exercise/party game where you and a group of friends can practice drawing with different time limits and physical constraints so you practice outside your comfort zones. I'm not an artist by any means, but Draft & Doodle can help you practice no matter what your skill level is.
Hey all,
I finally finished my compo entry, just within the deadline! It's called Yogurt's Quest, and it's um, it's weird.
You should totally play it! It's a browser game so you have no excuse not to :eyes:
Play it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/yogurts-quest

You can see one character transformation in our game. Maybe you like to follow us to check out and rate our game at the end. :)
the game will be uploaded from @themista92

This is how we are keeping this stuff organized:

We have a lot of stuff left to do, like actual gameplay and what have you. But our Nim codebase is bae
Just 24h left and we feel like we get chased by the time. Lets see how it will turn out in the end!

I managed to publish a Windows build before the deadline ended!!
Yay me!
Now will try to publish more builds (HTML5 / Mac / Linux), and add some screenshots...
It was a wild ride to finish at time but an awesome week-end ! Prety happy with the result even if I keep doing same mistakes of having a scope too large !
You can play on browser : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/14-billion-years

Okay ! Well I must say, my game is going great ! I finished the actual game, everithing is coded, so i'll spend the time I have left polishing it.
You can expect a short experience (5-10 mins of gameplay, maybe more if I find some time to add levels), with a neat little concept and an overall polished retro aspect !
Tomorow is a school day, so i'll have less time to work, but i think i can still finish up some details. Good night everyone, and good luck !
Some progress on my game:
“WHILE (TRUE) { JAM(); }”
[A Game Jamming Simulator (showing the highs and the lows)]

I have just finished putting together the main parts of one of the mini games (ARTWORK.PSD), this one is to do with the artwork/graphics side of the game the player is creating, i will post a shot of my coding mini game later.
For those of you that managed to finish inside the 48hrs - well done, those that didn't (like me), i hope you are still at it or you at least had fun!
Happy Jamming!
Only 3 Hours of sleep since the start of the jam, but our game is comming together. Sleep is overrated :D So, who wants to pillage some vilages and mercilessly turn them into your mighty undead army? :D

Well, what a ride this was... My first ludum dare and I enjoyed every bit of it. Hope all of you had an amazing weekend. Can't wait to see your games tomorrow. I'm heading to my pilow fortress now and get some sleep.
I'm looking forward to see who's on top of the leaderboard tomorrow :D https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/better-than-nothing

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/appeasing-the-quadopus, can be downloaded on Windows or played in the Browser. Play as a dwarf and appease the Quadopus.
Made the deadline for my first LDJAM! Damn, I am exhausted.
The game is about gathering fuel and oxygen as you make it back to your home planet. Also, avoiding asteroids.

In the final few minutes a new update was pushed. I also updated the control documentation and released the crafting recipe list as many users are reporting not being able to make the tools which is a critical feature of the game.
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/fan-the-flames
Finished on time. got the game fully done(except audio).
First time using unity I must say it felt really clunky, hopefully that's gonna change as I get more experience. I do see how it might be a great tool once I get used to it.
I hope you all were also successful, can't wait until the next one!
So glad I got to participate this time, had so much fun coding and chatting with the IRC community. Just wanted to say thanks for a Great LD45

POPULATION is a city-builder that focuses on the production of homes and (some) of what your people need! Use your available tools to create a sprawling hyper-suburban city that truely looks and feels like a dystopian council estate.

Construct roads, bridges, powerlines, solar farms, houses and plant trees. Demolish till your ~~heart's content~~ wallet's empty!
Save and load your city to come back to it at some other time, or just pretend you will - imagine that!

Experience immersive terrain, with fully dynamic roadways and impressively blue water and oceans. Connect homes to power-sources with powerlines and keep that wattage up, or risk losing all power! Tragic!

In all seriousness, this was my first Ludum Dare after being a simple spectator for many years. I did find it much harder than I thought and I'm sure I spent many hours laying on my bed and staring trying to come up with enough energy or ideas to push forward. Regardless, I think Population is a fun and hopefully different interpretation of the theme. I realised mid way through that a city builder is a very ambitious thing to try and produce in such a small time so I had to strip out some features from my original idea, but I hope this game still remains fun enough for you to enjoy. I didn't start till mid-day Saturday as I wasn't prepared to give up my Friday night, it's still freshers fortnight you know, so with that I hope you can appreciate this all a little more.
I hope you like what I've made here, and you can follow me on twitter, instagram and github at @solwllms, visit my website or support me via PayPal if you really want.
Thank you, and have a good halloween :jackolantern:. Sol Williams.

Haven't slept for about 30 hours... I play your games later

I build it, you play it. Everyone happy.
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/pen-and-play
With 30 mins to spare! A few bugs I plan to fix tomorrow but here it is!

I am now off to sleep. Goodnight all and thanks again for a great Jam!
With 1 minute left I turned my beautiful buggy mess in! No time for polish, but I submitted in time. Can't wait to drop dead in bed. Then play 100 of your games tommorow. Goodnight!
This was my first time entering Ludum Dare and it was a lot of fun! I can't wait to see what everybody else made now that my submission is complete. There was definitely a lot more I would have liked to add to my game but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out given the constraints.

For everyone in the Jam category, good luck with your final 24 hours or work!
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/todo I could not finish a full game. I do have a playable concept however. Check it out if you want. I will upload a time lapse later.

Just finished my game. Started late but had a great time building. Check it out

Phew. It's officially my first ludum dare where I've managed to finish the game.
Thank you all for the fun blog posts and the compo. Can't wait to play your games after a nap :).

Finished just about in time for the compo, it was a blast even though I woke up at half past 3 this morning.
I wanted to say that it's always great to join in a game jam, hope you had the same great experience and managed to make something you can be proud of!
See you next time :)
All done and posted ready.
Finished just in time for the Compo too!

a little bit of progression of our post-apocalypse mouse))
a lot has been done for today, all game logic, and animations)

So hotbar next!
The past two years i've been wanting to participate in Ludum Dare.
For some unexplainable comedic reason, every year, right on the ludum dare weekend, I have to go away with my parents to the north.
This year... the same thing happened!
NO MORE EXCUSES. I participated in the compo! Too much time in the car, enough time not doing anything, but still!
Here is what i accomplished, The Unknown Nude

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/the-unknown-nude
23 Hours Remain.
Unfortunately I won't be able to use all 23 of those hours to finish the game code (in particular the turn-based battle system which in hindsight was probably not the best idea). But it is shaping up nicely, and most of the spritework is already done.

So hopefully, the last couple hours will be relaxed polish rather than a psychotic dash to the end.

First compo, first time using Godot to complete a full project, and second Ludum Dare entry. Was a blast! Time to go relax.
Wow that theme really got me thinking for a while. I had a few other ideas but needed to focus on the smallest scope I could. Hope this encourages me to finish more projects on my own.
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/$160375

My 9th LD, feels good to do another one, after missing LD 44. Kind of proud of this one, always wanted to make a bullet hell game for Ludum Dare, finally did it!
Looking forward to rating y'alls games.
Link to my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/voidentropy

I'm pretty happy with how it came out, but my only problem is that it might be a little bit lackluster, but maybe not! I hope everyone enjoys it, and good luck to everyone else with your games!
You can play it here!: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/color-and-creativity

We're almost ready :scream:
game uploaded. going to bed. tired.
I have made a game! I like the result more than what I made previous jams. Almost like I'm older and smarter than I used to be. Maybe next time I'll also aim to include animation.

Announcing to the world, Nothing Left.
Trade your way up from nothing to everything. Inspired by the famous story about the one red paperclip. I hope you enjoy, and look forward to playing all your games later the upcoming three weeks.

My game is uploaded and playable! (please avoid the webgl version, the dialogs aren't shown in it)
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/nothing-left

Letterout is a roguelike word game, similar to Scrabble.
I was going to submit for the Compo, but as you can see from the link below, the game needs a lot of work to make it playable. It's somewhat functional now though. If you play this (really rough) version, let me know if you make it to the "45"!

It's submitted! Wow did I overscope this time :frowning: No audio, not nearly as many levels as I would have liked, lots of polish missing, awkward controls, bad AI. Oh well, it's in! I can breathe
Congrats to everyone who completed! You're awesome! :rocket:
Cause the topic was something kind of simple, I wanted to try something different for this Ludum Dare, and I used the simplest $10 console, the PewPew!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ftqXOjyW1o
You start with nothing but a red pixel, and suddenly small exploding pixel-bombs start appearing!
Run and deactivate all of them!
The game has 8 levels, which have an increasing difficulty (is really difficult going over 6/8!)
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/pewpew-bomb
Hope you like it!
You can play the game right now by clicking here!
It was a lot of work, but I implemented ALL of the gameplay I planned for myself. :D
Time to give feedback on other people's games!
Well, I decided to enter the Compo after all.
I had worked for 24 hours on a completely different game only to realize I would never finish the thing in time. I had way too many issues with it, trying to learn new stuff along the way.
Pretty much decided to give up at that point, but then this idea hit me from out of nowhere. Thought it might be doable in the little time I had left so I dove right into it. Not everything made it in that I wanted, and I never had time to do any decent graphics or add sounds (did toss in a melody that repeats while you play at the very last second).
Either way - I'm relatively pleased considering the time I was left with. It's a playable game (I think... gotta playtest it now - haven't really done so).
Give it a try, you guys - and don't forget to rate and comment when the time comes!
Here's a screenie for your enjoyment (despite the non-existing graphics):

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/a-brand-new-world
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/legion

LEGION is now up and playable. The balance transformed quite drastically over the last few hours but I think it ended it in a good place. I have no idea whether players will find it too hard or too easy - I never do.
WASD to move. SPACE to jump, LEFT SHIFT to run. Isn't it the basic knowledge? -- the narrator
For more : E to use ability, TAB to switch ability, SHIFT to skip the dialog

MDWG is a platform-jumping, and surviving, and, maybe walking-simulating? game...I named it by referecing the 'My Dear Esther'. I wish I can add more narrative elements int it. However, I hate the art and gameplay and work on it until very last minute. I'm going to sleep now. I will come back and add more comment after a sleep.

It's called Fragmented Reality and is a puzzle story platformer puzzle with focus on exploration. And puzzles.
You can play it here!
I've managed to cobble together a basic inventory system of the blocks you've picked up. I've not managed to get the items to stack yet, but that's next on my list!!
Did I survive?
Now I rest.
I ran into way more issues then I expected (and of course at the last minute) and I lost a couple hours. The only that sucks is those were the hours I had reserved for Music/Sfx, so I have like 4 sound effects in the game that I added in the last 5 minutes. Rip. Anyways if you wanna try it out, here it is!
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/minirpg
Im trying to play compo games, but can't find out where I rate them :/
Phew, I finished in time and I've uploaded my compo game "I Have Nothing - If I don't take from you".

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/i-have-nothing-1
With having the flu this weekend I was skeptic if I would make anything at all. Then I spent the first 5-10 hours making art assets so I was even more doubtful after that, haha. But, I'm happy I made it to celebrate my 10th consecutive Ludum Dare!
Had less time then would have been optimal to make a game... made one anyway.
It might not win an oscar for best supporting actor but I am proud of it.

You rise from the dead in a dank underworld. Earn coins to appease the gatekeeper. Face increasing challenges & learn new abilities to pass on to whatever lies beyond this life.
Here is my game: Bless

It may fall more under the category of visual novel, but the purpose of the game is to gain as many followers as you can until you reach the end.

I casually worked on something that vaguely fit the theme, and i haven't done a Ludum Dare since LD30-something. I managed to finish the game way before the deadline, but due to some issues i wasn't able to upload it until now, doing a photo finish.
In before the deadline after getting distracted by trying to fixing a last minute bug with disembodied eyes .

Play here (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/forest-ninja-wizard-ghost)
Features a limited , unlit landscape that slowly illuminates upon consumtion of enchanted toadstools.

My entry, "Ex Nihilo", made in 24 hours. Only takes a couple of minutes to play; just chill and enjoy some procedural music.
It was tough 5 hours, and I am glad I actually managed to pull together something playable in that time. It is a shame I didn't have the full weekend, but I am keeping the streak alive, which is what matters at this point.

Play here.
Check out the game page here.
Good luck to all the jammers out there and stay strong!
I'm so glad I was able to finish! I had a few huge bugs that I thought might destroy me but they didn't. I'm excited to play all the other submissions. So here's mine: https://fashionbatman.itch.io/winter
