Composer looking for individual or team

I'd like to look for someone that needs a composer to work with, and maybe some game design assistance. My preference would be either a team or individual that has already had some experience participating in LD in the past (I myself have participated in 30 Ludum Dares so far, most of them solo but a few collaborations). Even if you usually go solo but think you could use some music this time, I can be helpful!

Here are some examples of my work. Let me know!

Now we wait

Have to say last theme voting round had me voting a lot of reds before I took a break, looked at them again and bumped up some votes to greens and yellows... all I gotta do now is wait

this is me waiting...

Shelter

Am I the only one who has this song go off in my head every time Shelter is a possible theme? :)

I'm In!

LudumDare time! Yeah!! I cleared my schedule for the weekend, so going to try to do my absolute best with all that time to make a truly great compo entry. I've been extremely busy/spread thin the last several months, but I gotta make time for LudumDare! Best of luck to everyone!

NOTES

🧙‍♂️ IF COMPLETED, THIS WILL BE MY 24th FINISHED COMPO TITLE. ✨

📆 AS OF WRITING, I'VE BEEN DOING THE COMPO FOR OVER 11 YEARS, SINCE LUDUMDARE 28.

🧠 I WILL NOT USE ANY AI TOOLS. ALL ART/MUSIC/SCENARIO/SFX/ETC WILL BE CREATED BY ME OR WITH "OLD-SCHOOL"-STYLE GENERATORS. ANY AI INFLUENCE WILL BE ACCIDENTAL (SOME SOFTWARE COMPANY SNEAKING SOMETHING INTO MY TOOLS, FOR INSTANCE.)

🎯 MY BIGGEST LUDUMDARE WISH THIS TIME AROUND IS... I WIN IN ANY CATEGORY!

🧮 I WANT TO RATE AT LEAST 25 GAMES THIS TIME AROUND.

Things boss monsters say.

You are not supposed to be here, tiny creatures; you are playing with fire. Side effects may include isolation mutations and ruins.

It's been six years?! ‍♂️

I can't quite wrap my head around that. I since graduated with a Computer Science degree and gained three years of professional work experience, I got promoted to Senior Software Engineer literally two days ago. So much life was lived since then, and with my gained life experience I can now see even clearer:

This event is nuts, and I absolutely love that. And I'm SO in ❤️

I will participate with Godot 4.3. There won't be too many changes after six years, right? Right?!

I'm in!

This time, with Friday booked off of work so I can spend the day relaxing and theory crafting for the different themes 😈

Count me in!

It's been a few years since I've done any game Jams, and a lot has changed.

I'm probably going to use Unity and I've got a couple of ideas bouncing around in my head already on what might be fun to build.

I guess I'll spend tomorrow unpacking my desktop and getting it setup. If I'm lucky, my monitor repair will go well too, so I'll have two monitors to work with again! That would be rad! (Don't look at me like that, it was gravity that broke it, not me!)

And then I guess... I'll spend Friday pulling out my hair because I have no more procrastination problems to solve and I'll have to actually focus on the game jam! 😅

Goodnight everybody & good luck on the jam! 🤘

A Game Maker Question

I am currently still on switching from unity to game maker (also tried defold and godot). The reason is the very good console support on game maker.

However as i tried to go deeper i was wondering about the "art" and "engine" workflow if you using tools like Aseprite.

In engines like unity, godot and defold i could place my art files in a directory inside the project, import them and change them in aseprite without any problems.

In Game Maker it seems i can add a third party tool, edit the art file but not in the folder structure (it has some hash values). The next problem is : what if i export sprite sheet animations from aseprite ?

So my question is: What is your workflow when you working with aseprite and in special case for sprite sheet animations ?

Thanks in advance.

I'm ready

I'm ready..?

I used to participate in a few local jams dedicated to a particular engine. There were no jams for a long time, so I even held my own jam on the topic of portals, one of the games from that jam is currently being finalized and will probably make it to steam. Here is a screenshot from it:

I haven't been a jam participant for a very long time, I've already forgotten all these feelings. So if the topic doesn't seem too repulsive to me - I'll definitely participate

This time I won't be doing everything alone most of the time, I will be assisted by my classmate from the institute. I will hand over the graphics and testing to him, so that I can better focus on the logic writing process

You are not supposed to be here

You are not supposed to be here - the best theme which has been submitted - because it is mine 😁 No matter what it will be at the end - don't forget that the theme always sucks. First rule ++

idk

I reflect on side effects of isolation

as I descend into the ruins of the shelter.

I consider pathways under pressure,

playing with fire, salvage what I can,

But I lost signal,

cannot access my connections,

a strange machines and tiny creatures of mutation absorb remains of my attention.

Echoes...You are not supposed to be here...

déjà vu...must break the cycle.

To get far I must

first beat the fear of Ludum Dare
