Second day passed

After horrible fight with memory leakges in broken game engine we have almost working game. It’s a bit simplier than we planned.

Game mechanics won’t change. Now we have only to work on aestetics and fix compatibility issues to be sure that game will run on as many systems as possible.

Here are timelapses from first and second day:

BTW it’s a shame that no one else from whole community noticed the mistake in theme name. We could not resist to CORRECT it 😀

It’s 4AM and I’m sitting at my work because I don’t have Mac but I wanted to build our game for Mac OS X. Now we have best “Instalation Experience” I could imagined but sadly Mac OS X is the most broken build of our game and I’m not sure if I can drive home after so many hours of sleep deprivation.

We had to directly hack event loop of game engine, because it game clock was starving of event ticks if wasn’t getting enough user input events (remember that it’s a “press space to win” type of game). We had to monkey patch resource finder because it could not deal with freezed/bundled apps (we use python). And last but not least we had to cover our game with a ton compatibility assertions to make music/sounds at least pretend to work.

Effect: we had to disable all sound effects and anything you can hear is our theme music but it will probably eventually die in slow agony of cracks and gaps.

I only hope that this is maybe only my broken environment and someone will get this game working on Mac OS X without any issues.
