There were few complaints in the feedback; one of them was that the game could feel a bit slow. To address this, I’ve added new, more practical controls, and more control improvements are on the way. I’ve also made some tweaks to difficulty and balance, though I’m unsure if that’s a good thing, it might affect the game's lighthearted feel, which is one of its charms. I might change it in the future. I also made a variety of small adjustments.

1.25 - The sound when enemy bullets hit the monster was changed

1.25 - You can now hold the left mouse button to pick multiple pixels at once

1.25 - You can now use the scroll wheel to reposition black pixels

1.25 - There is now a pixel counter on the screen showing how many pixels your monster currently has

1.25 - You now receive one black pixel for every four colorful pixels placed

1.25 - Black pixels are destroyed when they hit and destroy enemies

1.25 - You can now hold the left mouse button to place multiple pixels at once on your monster

1.25 - Changed cursor appearance

1.25 - Your monster loses pixels when they come into contact with enemies

HIII!!! I finally updated my game again! Now the mouse sprite tutorial is not hideous like before. One of the reasons it took so long was that I was trying to create music for the game; it was really frustrating. I clearly need to learn more about it! In the end, I added a royalty-free track called Ethereal Vistas by Denys Brodovskyi. It fits well enough, and I'm happy with it, hopefully, it’s just a placeholder for when I get better at creating music. The YouTube link to the music and the website where I downloaded it are below.

I finally finished adding all the practical controls I wanted to the game. Since it is a mouse-only game ...and there are only three buttons on a mouse, practically every combination of buttons was used, lol! The controls are just hard enough that I think no one is going to use them except hardcore fans of mine ~~...that don’t exist lol~~

Anyway, now that I'm happy with the controls, I will try to focus on the battles and enemies. I've received a lot of feedback from people wanting more power-ups, and they might come up in the next update. I want to add more creativity-stimulating elements that mix with the battles, maybe a pixel power based on the amount and placement of pixels ...I’m still brainstorming.

What I do know is that I will make the game endless and add randomly generated enemies. The game will restart if you run out of pixels. I want the player to feel like it’s not a one-time game; I want replayability. I've been working a little bit, and it should come out in the next update.

1.32 - Now you have a chance of losing black pixels with each enemy attack or contact

1.32 - New controls to practically pick up attached pixels

1.32 - Additional sounds AND THE BEST POPPING SOUND EVER!!!!!!!

1.32 - Changed the mouse tutorial, and it is on screen until you use all controls possible

1.32 - Now the game restarts instead of ending

1.32 - All enemies now have bullet path indication and weak point indication, and colors were added to them

1.32 - Monster's hitbox was polished

1.32 - You can hold the middle mouse button to pick all your black pixels at once

1.32 - Fixed a few bugs

I am a merciful slaughterer!

So often when seeing the themes, I think of so many wonderful games that could come from them, and approving it just seems to make sense.

Version 15 of my game is out!!!

Also, there’s a new cover image now! ...I kinda hate it, but it was the best I could do with the energy I had

I tried to fix the two biggest problems people had with the game: the thumb sometimes being hard to click, and the final gesture text not showing up. Along with the thumb’s hitbox, I also adjusted the hitboxes of the other fingers so they feel better to click. I removed the two-finger gun gesture because it didn’t feel as natural as the others — the two fingers are too far apart, and the name was kind of made up. I also accidentally found a bug and immediately fixed it! And finally, the number of gestures needed to win is now 15, which is the reason for the version’s name :3

Changes in version 15:

  • Adjusted hitboxes

  • Fixed a bug with the checkmark transparency.

  • Showed the text of the last gesture found.

  • Removed the two-finger gun gesture from the game.

  • Changed the number of gestures needed to win from 16 to 15.

  • Adjusted the thumb’s hitbox so it’s easier to click

The COMPO version can be downloaded here (windows)

Summary of the game: In this game you shape your hand into known gestures. You need to find 16 out of the 18 in the game, can you handle it?
