Ludum Dare 51

What are the best tips and tricks for making a game alone, in only 48h? (Compo)

I've been coming back lately to the game development and I've had a lot of struggle developing my game for the LudumDare Jam, which is in the unfinished state.

Particularly, I didn't know where to focus and ended up forgetting to implement a lot of basic features, such as Winning or Dying in the game. I also had a lot of issues in knowing what to focus on first. One of my biggest difficulties is how to handle my order of choices into what do I need to get done first or in which order of assets (Ex: Programming first, then Songs, then Art, then..) is the best option.

Should I make the basic mechanic, then go straight to create the Sprites,Title Card and Songs for the game? Or should I just implement all the game mechanics, make sure that they are working and only implement the other stuff (Audio, Art, Shader, etc) later?

For these reasons, I would love to know more about what are the best practices for developing a game in a short period of time from other people and also what are their/your recommended tips and tricks that helps, or helped them/your along their process. (Specially in Game Design)

Thank you for reading this text till the end. I'm not used to writing posts like this so I apologize if there was any typos along the way.

My unfinished game if anyone is interested in playing it:
