SPOOKY CAVERNS

Uh so I’ve been pretty tired this weekend, it’s been hard to code. I was slackin’ for most of the first day, and I’m about 12 hours behind because of some ridiculously stupid bugs.

But, alas, things have begun to come together. Hopefully I can finish a simple game in the next four hours. Here’s a screenshot of spooky cavern, a clone of the (not very fun) 2600 game Haunted House:

Finished.

Spooky Cavern is finished. Playing it is an exercise in overcoming confusion, so download it if you’re into that sort of thing:
Download it (OS X/Windows, 7.5mb)

I don’t think I’m gonna submit it, on account of it being terrible. It looks nice, though:

Brainstormed for a few hours last night, then the idea hit me. Trying to balance my freelance work and LD today, but I think this may be going somewhere…

So, game’s concept revolves around an idea I had for drawing first-person hallways. It’s a cool idea, it fakes everything, and is super CPU intensive. Here’s what it looks like now, with my placeholder graphics:

You may say they’re placeholder graphics, but they are sort of appealing.
