LD35

I’m in…

Hi guys,
New to Ludum Dare and amateur programmer at best…but I’m in for this one. I’ll be posting some occasional videos on my YouTube channel (same as my username here if you want to look it up) as I go along and, assuming I can get it to work, a time-lapse when completed. I’ve participated in a few and won a couple of small forum game jam competitions in the past but have never participated in something of this scale. Looking forward to it…and to seeing what you guys do with the theme as well!

I’m not sure what I’ll use for development but probably either Unity if I choose 3D (and can make headway with C#) or PureBasic if I go with 2D. Photoshop and maybe Painter for 2D graphics and Blender if I do 3D. Not sure about sound. I’ll try the LD-linked tools to see what I can do…but I am not exactly a rocket surgeon when it comes to audio.

Good luck to all!

Halfway there!

Timewise anyway. I’m not terribly happy with my progress. Lost some time to relearning stuff I thought I already knew but I have accomplished a fair bit of foundational stuff to build on in the next 24 hours.

I’ll have something playable by the end of the compo (or at least the jam) but we’ll just have to see how good it is.

I do plan to turn this into a much larger game if I can keep the motivation for it – though I might well recode it using a different language/libraries.

[Edit: Had some trouble inserting the URL. Hopefully didn’t double-post.

You got ballz!

Postmortem and penance…

Congratulations to all those who participated in the compo and jam, and especially to those who finished games. I’m going to keep trying and participate in other game jams as well.
