LD27

I’m doin’ it!

After lurking in the background of the Ludum Dare for almost a year, I’ve finally managed to learn enough coding to make a game and will be participating in LD27!

I will be using gimp, paint.net, code::blocks with c++, and audacity.

Good luck to everyone out there, and hopefully I can get a playable game out!

Progress for 1st LD

Progress is, well… different than I thought it would be. I’m making headway, but in different areas than expected. At any rate, I’m going to have to go to bed soon, but did get most of my tile map done and some basic movement.

Need to figure out a glitch with the audio.

Screenie for ld

Apparently, lots of work.

This Ludum Dare, despite being very fun, is going very differently than I expected. Lots of work on art right now, creating tilemaps and houses and such, but finally getting to the point that I can implement them into them game.  Screenshot should hopefully be coming soon.

Creating the areas themselves are the next thing on the list. Then I just need to get the transitions between them worked out.

PS. whiteboards are very helpful for writing down ideas and to-do lists.

Probably going to Finish!

My first Ludum Dare is leading up to be a success. So far I have finished the tilemap along with all but one of the tile rooms, music, a basic interface, movement, a menu, and MUSIC!

Still need to get animation, other people, objectives, collisions and transitions, along with a narrative. Got a good idea on the narrative though Going to be fun!

Concept Art

It has occured to me that I could probably use some more descriptive concept art.
